No 401k and the office people are so unorganized...not enough pay...the girls in the office though are very nice. I like that its union. More help is needed.

I have worked for help at home on the skilled side, as a nurse for over 2 years. I have enjoyed all but one of my case managers. They greatly appreciate what you do to make their job easier. I have a lot of flexibility in my hours. It is more the patients that want to demand certain days or times for visits. 3 months ago I started with a consumer and direct staff. Hours are based on what the consumer's parents need. Also enjoy my supervisors on that side. I have had no issues overall and plan on continuing to work as a nurse and direct staff for Help at home. I have been employed with them for over four years. It did take a good deal of time to get paired with the clients I have everyday now. It's best to have a good fit. My days I spend talking and cleaning and running errands and doctor's appointments. You will set your own hours and the company will pair you with people who can work within your time frames. I did have trouble with a few. But Inwould jist let the office know and they wouldtake those off my work load. You will gwt paid for your time and travel expenses. All and all its not bad. But you will drive a lot. I log almost 100 miles a day. More...

Help At Home is a nice place to work. The management is upbeat and professional. They understand when you need to take a day off. I wish the pay was more but it’s about average. The union has approved all Home care aides to make $13.00 hr, but we’re just waiting for it to take effect which should happen by Jan 2020. If you love working with adults with disabilities, then this is a great job. The individuals are great to work with across the board. The balance in this field is lacking because there is not enough people to go around. You may get pulled and shuffled around, pay may be low but it works out in the end because of the individuals. We have previously owned a local Care Agency for 12 years which was sold to a charity 4 years ago, We have taken time out for our young family and are now back!

After spending years caring for the elderly, we have huge respect for them and wanted to deliver a service that could assist them in their daily lives.
Domiciliary care for anyone that is trying to manage at home alone is a vital service, Some find themselves in the position that potential ill health or simply age has slowed then down. It is now that they need that little support to help with the tasks that have become unmanageable.
Socially we all need to have contact with people and it is just as vital for the elderly who often have difficulty in accessing the community feeling isolated and lonely, in our experience this can often lead to health issues and depression.
