He diagnosed and took care of the leaks, also advised me on a tub leakage problem, ordered the parts, gave me a price, and said he would arrange for repairs to be done next Friday. Charlie was very professional and knowledgeable when he arrived to give us an estimate. I could tell he was confident in himself and his team as he explained the options available to us. That really helped put us at ease. We had two other plumbers provide estimates and we did not get the same sense from either of them. All 4 bathrooms in my house in Rockville are clogged and sewage came out from bath tubs. It was terrible. The problem started with one bathroom early in the day. It went downward spiral from there. By the end of the day, all 4 were not working. I had an awful day. I knew I had a water main issue. I called many plumbing companies late at night, trying to line up someone first thing next morning. I really liked that Heil plumbing had a real tech to respond my call while other companies used answering services. I know my problem couldn't be fixed at night. But I was reassured someone would contact me in the morning. This morning, I had 3 major plumbing companies come out to estimate the problem. I was a little upset that one plumbing company gave an outrageous estimate. Long story short, overall, I found Heil Plumbing was most straightforward and they looked at the problem most thoroughly. Great team, great company. Gary, our lead plumber, and his team could not have been nicer or more professional. I used Heil for a total replumb job at my in-laws home. Yes, a complete replumb of galvanized plumbing that was 60+ years old. The estimated timeline for completion was spot on. One of the “mission critical” issues was to insure that there was water in at least one bathroom in the house during the project and there always was. As you can imagine, having a major plumbing project at any age can be expensive and disconcerting, even more so when you’re well into your 90’s. I really appreciated that Gary and the team took some time to understand where the pipes were routed and did everything possible to minimize demolition. Prior to the job, I (son-in-law) spent a fair amount of time mapping out where in plumbing was located within the walls. Gary and team were not only receptive to my input but were collaborative at every turn. They never hesitated to consult with me so that we could both be sure we were drilling in the right place. When drilling, they drilled with confidence! Additionally, Gary was great at getting the boiler mixing valve “unfrozen” so we could actually get some “hot” water. Keith was also very patient with me on the phone, aiding in my understanding of the mixing valve issue. It never worked correctly from the day it was installed and the hot water was tepid at best. In the basement, where plumbing was exposed, they took their time to insure straight runs with crisp corners that yielded a very pleasing look. All of the plumbers who showed up were professional, polite, courteous, and very cooperative. What a refreshing approach for such a major undertaking. Sent a email early on a Sunday requesting service for Monday morning, hoping someone could help me out. They replied with in a hour saying they could have the all call tech come out on Sunday, but it would be less expensive to have it done on Monday and they could help. We called Heil plumbing to replaced a 75 gal water heater for us. We initially were thinking about going with a tankless heater when Billy came out for the estimate. As he explained the additional work (up sizing gas pipe ) and time frame (getting Washington Gas to upsize the meter) that would be required we went with a conventional tank instead. We found Billy's advice helpful in making the decision and were happily surprised that he wasn't there to up sell us to the tankless unit.For the installation Jon and Gary arrived on time, were courteous and maintained a neat job site. Our basement bathroom completely flooded the other night and we started frantically calling around to local plumbers until we landed on Heil Plumbing. Upon describing our problem the representative on the phone quickly determined that our issue was likely a blockage in our main line. He advised us that he did not feel right charging us to come out when it was likely something the county would have to remedy. He recommended we call the county first and if they were unable to come out then to call him back for help. EXCELLENCE! The team was amazing. We had a leak in the front yard and it took 'a minute' for the county to find our shut-off valve to determine it was our pipe. Gary from Heil came out on time to give an estimate and they were able to get Miss Utility out and do the work the same day, all in about 3 hours! They only had to dig one hole near the shut-off to replace the whole line. They also filled the hole back in AND SEEDED and put hay on top, and at my request wrapped caution tape around the area (so the area can dry out). The hole they had to drill in the wall in the basement was patched and their "Pullzit” method worked beautifully (I actually video taped it, it was awesome to see). Oh and they either took off their shoes or put on their own shoe covers when they came in the house (didn't have to ask). In some cases, you may need to schedule water line replacement instead of repair. Lucky for you, we have a unique and unobtrusive method for replacing underground water lines. Mr. Joseph Heil came up with a technique called the Pullzit, where we dig a hole at the county connection (usually near the sidewalk or street) and insert a cable through the broken water line. As we pull the cable through the old line, our special tool will split the old line and insert a new copper water line where the previous line was. Because this technique does not require digging a trench from the house all the way out to the street, if your water line runs under the driveway or your favorite tree, we can pull a new water line under them without disturbing them.
