Alright, well, I'm kinda sad I have to make this one, but here it is..I've been going here in the Chidrens Section for a rough year. I love it, it has the best staff I could ever imagine and is very sweet. The only problem is, they dont take private insurance, the only take Medicaid and Meridian. This place is amazing. I discovered Hegira from a referral from the ER. They offer mental health and substance abuse help. They welcome ANYONE. Insured or not. If you have trouble paying they will still see you, and help you file for state aid/ or payment assistance. Absolutely wonderful! Allison W., is honestly I've of the best ppl I have ever come across, she's always there with great advice and absolutely NO judgment in your choices. If you ever need a shoulder to lean on then this is the place to go, they have great programs ranging from addiction all the way to loss of a loved one, and work with insurance as well as programs for the uninsured. Hegira is one of the most comprehensive mental health programs in the area. They've been in the metro Detroit area since the 70s and are committed to making a difference. I've been blown away by their short term crisis residential program. I'm the daughter of a RN who worked with the Department of Community Health and DOC. So I've got a good understanding of how much we've lost options for mentally ill. They work to get the clients viable treatment options for once they leave and follow up afterwards. IOP is and intensive, outpatient, 15 week course, that teaches you ways and strategies to overcome addiction. It allows you to be in a group with other people who have similar problems as you. I am currently in IOP and the group setting at first scared me after a few times going I have became so comfortable in the group that I actually look forward to going. The reason I am so comfortable in the group is because the person who runs it Jennifer Cormier. She is well informed in strategies and ways to cope with every day life so that you will not want to use. Her dimeanor is laid back and very comforting where you feel like you can tell her anything and she will not condem you but help you in ways you would have never thought. I highly recommend if you yourself have a problem with addiction attending her group therapy. She really has a great soul about her. Thanks for being my group councelor Jen!! More...
