Went to Heddons for lunch this afternoon with a friend and my mum. I’d stumbled across it online and after seeing the great reviews decided to give it a try. We all live fairly local but have never visited this restaurant before, usually choosing to go to a popular eatery just up the road. The place was very busy but we were seated and served quickly and efficiently. We all had different Paninis and shared some chunky chips. The food was really tasty, portions of average size and reasonably priced. The menu selection was varied. Nice atmosphere and interesting decor. Can see why it’s got such good reviews. Heddons has a great variety of food for breakfast, brunch etc. Mel and team are friendly and take interest in their customers. and have a good knack of knowing what someone likes if they’re not sure! I love their very tender chicken Caesar salad which has a great portion of chicken and I’m really fussy about meat dishes! The bonus is that the chicken is also extremely yummy, very tasty! Their Greek yoghurt and fruit and their porridge are also delish!! Not forgetting the banana loaf dish too! Reasonable prices, nice vibe/atmosphere! Hooray! At last a restaurant with common sense! Apart from a full and very comprehensive menu - you can choose your own ingredients for brunch/breakfast instead of having to order toast if you don’t want it, mushrooms if you don’t like them or grilled tomatoes if they’re not your style. Visited for a lovely lunch earlier in the week and weren’t disappointed. I think it must’ve had a makeover as I’m pretty sure we would’ve been in before otherwise! It was busy despite being a Thursday afternoon, people inside and out as the sun was shining, thankfully we didn’t have to wait for a table. Had a latte, I drink a lot of coffee and this one was really rather good! I had the halloumi and roasted veg on focaccia which was rather tasty along with a good coleslaw on the side. Just had another amazing brunch at Heddons Kitchen. Would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried this place yet. The food is always on point despite the fact they're usually busy. Mel & his team are wonderfully friendly and always take the time to come and say hello and make sure you're happy & comfortable.The food is always to a high standard (if you haven't been before, give the chicken burger a try, it's served with Smoked Applewood cheese and is a personal favourite of mine!)
