Emily started training me and my NCT group soon after we gave birth. For the last 6 months she has taken us from rehabilitation-type workouts (concentrating on strengthening our pelvic floor etc) to full hour workouts incorporating weights, cardio and core work. Emily was super patient whenever we were late because of the babies (or had to listen to Baby Shark on repeat!) and made an effort to accommodate all of our needs (and let us chat in between - and during(!) - sets!). The best thing was all of the workouts incorporated the pram and/or the babies so they were entertained as well! Thanks to Emily for giving us a fun session every week and for helping us to get back to our old, pre baby, selves again. More...

Emily has been a fantastic trainer since I started working with her 9 month ago. I've really enjoyed the sessions and love working outside in the park. Since being pregnant I've found that Emily has a good balance between pushing me just enough but also ensuring I am working out safely and doing whats right for my body at each stage of pregnancy. I thouroughly trust Emily with my training program and have found her to be understanding, supportive and flexible. The thought of hiring a personal trainer left be feeling cold. Slightly terrified and wondering whether I would be laughed out the room as I tried to explain my long running desire for just generally being a damn site fitter and shedding a few of those sneaky pounds that like to hide in packets of crisps.

Right from the initial contact, Emily was the Jedi of professionalism and knowledge. Having always made excuses such as being too busy and not being able to make particular classes I was suddenly out of them – Emily kindly offered to meet wherever was most convenient for me and showed excellent knowledge and experience of being able to choose the best and most appropriate workout of whatever the location. Always on time and with a friendly, encouraging smile Emily knew exactly what I wanted to achieve and how to go about it. She fully understood some of my physical limitations and seamlessly integrated different variations of her workouts into the given location and pushing me but never too far.

I have finally achieved my weight loss goals and much greater sense of overall fitness. I am feeling so much better in myself and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Emily as a personal trainer. A rare find - professional through and through with her eyes firmly set on the objectives I set out to achieve but always with a kind friendly word of encouragement.

I've been working with Emily for several months now and have seen a noticeable improvement in my overall strength, which is the area I've mainly focused on (along with general mobility). She's been able to understand my goals and build a plan around what I want to achieve. I work across two locations in London and she's been very flexible in terms of get to me on site, and when we can meet. I would definitely recommend her as I've enjoyed our sessions, felt like I've made real progress and she's helped me improve not only my own practice but my understanding of why we're doing what we're doing when we train. I started using Emil as a personal trainer a few months ago after I became bored with my usual exercise routine. This has worked really well for me as Emily has always been flexible on choice of location, offering home, park, office or a studio. This is important as with the nature of my job I am always in a different place. Emily understood my challenges and limitation (a pre-existing back injury) but still pushes me hard which as someone who trains regularly is very important. My main focus was on strengthening, toning and fat % reduction which I have achieved my targets for and really happy with the results. Emily always arrived on time and greeted me with a friendly smile and made me feel at ease which makes a big difference, I would absolutely recommend Emily to anyone. More...

I’d never had a personal trainer before and Emily was great. We talked about what I wanted to achieve and my fitness levels - she could tell my limits and what I needed get me going, but adapted things as we went along to make sure I could do it, stay positive and actually enjoy it! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Emily. My fitness wasn’t good, but our sessions were exactly what I needed to push me just to the right level and keep that up. Tried other PTs for strength training but they're a joke compared to Emily - she knows what she's doing and has understood my needs so I've made more progress with her in a few sessions than I did with others in 10 sessions. Thanks Emily,

Q&As

An initial consultation is extremely important with all new potential clients. From this we can both understand;
1) your goals, 2) likes and dislikes, 3) injuries, 4) attitude to exercise, 5) exercise history, 6) potential nutrition habits, 7) routine impacts, 8) available time

From this initial consultation I put together a 10 week plan to aid on your journey towards your goal. Providing along the way:
1) education, 2) nutrition advice, 3) posture & technique checks, 4) visible exercise progressions, 5) monitoring, review and evaluation

Following the initial 10 weeks it is then possible to bolster the plan even further to either:
1) continue initial work or 2) push new found limits further again

Its down to both of us to deliver, stay focused and positive.

To begin with - the realisation that something needs to change.

I always tell people that coming to exercise is like 'quitting smoking' - YOU have to be ready. No one can tell you to do it or force you to do it. YOU have to want to succeed.

In order to succeed you need 3 ingredients:

1. Purpose
2. Passion
3. Self determination

I support my clients along the way by showing them what they can do and can achieve with the right mix of the above. I am the enabler to the body of their dreams but they are the secret to actually getting it.

I get them daily. It maybe as simple as managing their first sit up, pull up, 10km row or run, 10th press up , or quite simply that their endorphins are on the loose. Whatever the achievement is I always love getting smiles from clients because it is so genuine and so well deserved.

In the Health Industry/Personal Training business you as the coach and trainer are the Product and the Service. Therefore being an individual and standing out from the crowd is must and having your own business is an enabler to this. I wish for my clients to get to know Emily as a Coach & Trainer who is flexible and attentive not Emily the Coach and Trainer who is restricted by Corporate rules and policies that treat every client the same.

My approach is 100% personable and personal to each of my clients. Its about you, not me.
