How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Many garages/ out buildings are suitable for conversion into habitable spaces, a full survey will be required, to determine the exact degree of building works required, it is advisable that conversions are over seen by local authoritie building control. Ensuring that they meet uk building regulations
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
Meet with client to discuss requirements/ needs
Survey existing structure including floors walls, roof, doors and windows
Highlight the need to upgrade different parts and why, ie new roof / upgrade of insulation, addition of dpc/dpm’s
Provide full quote and breakdown,
Upon acceptance of quote, inform LABC of works and mobilise to undertake works
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Most lofts are suitable for loft conversion’s, different degree’s of structural works are required, depending on roof construction,
After discussing idea’s it is advisable to engage with a structural engineer to highlight the structual needs of the building, for building regualtions,
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Strip out roof,
Undertake structual alterations to roof, trim out floor for new stairs, lay flooring, strip roof in areas to install new windows or dormer, once all structual elements have been carried out and inspected by lABC works to then form the loft room can continue
