What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Capturing the moment, wedding photography is not about the technical stuff it is about keeping the camera ready to get the shot, capturing the moment to treasure forever.
Portrait and studio photography is about the technical detail, choosing the right lighting and setting the scene.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
For wedding photography we will ask our couples to join us in our office for a consultation where we discuss all the finer details of the big day.
For our corporate clients, we ask for a brief and will work on that together to reach the desired outcome.
What do you love most about your job?
For wedding photography it is the whole day, I love being part of the day, floating around and capturing those once in a life time shots, everyone is happy, there's a real buzz about weddings that keeps me on my toes.
In terms of corporate photography it is seeing the photos being used either on a website, LinkedIn for head shots or even printed in a local or national magazine.
What inspired you to start your own business?
In the space of 72 hours I was suspended from my job (they were not happy I had started my own business), my wife's grandma died and my second daughter was born, I see this difficult time as a pivotal moment in my life, what could have been the worst period of my life I now see as the catapult to creating a business and a career that I love.
