I have been learning guitar with Stephen for almost a year now. I had never played an instrument before so was a complete beginner. I feel very pleased with the progress I have made, Stephen challenges me enough that I learn but not too much that I feel I am hopeless and want to give up! I've enjoyed all my lessons, Stephen is a wonderful, personable and patient teacher. More...

Stevie is by far the most talented guitarist/bassist I've had the pleasure of creating music with. You could not ask for a more patient, skillful or knowledgeable teacher.

Stephen has been teaching my 10 year old, guitar-mad son over the summer holidays and I can't recommend him highly enough. He is clearly a fantastic teacher and player himself which has made my son feel very at ease. His approach is calm and professional, offering suggestions for improvement when needed as well as knowing how to get the best out of a young player. My son has learnt a great deal in a short space of time and being able to 'jam' with a professional has really helped his confidence. Thank you Stephen! More...

Q&A

Teaching people new skills is a wonderful privilege. Most people learn for pleasure so I'm seeing them at their best, really enjoying learning how to play - whether that's to impress their friends or just a personal challenge. I've also helped people change career by guiding them through music theory exams so they could move into music teaching themselves.

Other than performing there really is no better way to earn a living than sharing that gift of music with people and demistifying the music making process!
