A bit of a mix up on arrival about the booking, apparently my son and I were not expected until the next day. However this was not a problem and our room was ready for us even though we had arrived early afternoon. Owner very keen to share local knowledge and tips with us. Of particular value was a very clear handwritten map (literally on the back of an envelope) to connect us direct with the South West Coastal Path without having to go down to the official start and then climb back up again. Booked as a last minute break to take advantage of the exceptionally good weather forecast...had a really nice stay, the accommodation was as expected from the description, beds comfortable, nice bedding and towels, breakfast excellent and plentiful. ..a nice guest lounge to relax in and a very good 'honesty' bar ! The interior and decor is quirky, which is to be expected on meeting Alex the owner...he was very helpful with his extensive knowledge of the area...suggesting some great off the beaten track, places to visit and nice restaurants to eat...the Hotel is on the side of North Hill which gives you amazing views...but bear in mind to walk into Minehead...or more importantly to walk back up is not for the faint hearted. We however used the car and had some great meals out, especially in Dunster....apart from the Marina area in my opinion...Minehead best avoided ! More...

Personally I cannot recommend Naomi / Harmony Hypnotherapy enough! Naomi's knowledge & skills are second to none, her fantastic treatment results being proof of this. I've recommended Harmony Hypnotherapy to many of my family & friends & had nothing but positive feedback from all that have ventured into the world of hypnotherapy. Similarly to many others, I was initially sceptical (as hypnotherapy was something I had very little knowledge about) but soon discovered I had no need to be. We took a tour by car of Exmoor's countryside and villages mapped out by the hotel owner, which included high points and seaside accessed by some narrow roads and crossing two fords. I booked this hotel in a rush so we didn't exspect much, well when we arrived late on Friday night we were blown away with how pretty the place is. We've normally booked late rooms and got rubbish rooms, this is such a stunning place and a really good price especially for the location. The couple who own it are brilliant and so welcoming and down to earth. The room we had was gorgeous and massive and so quiet. I was stunned at the amount of parking there is too so there's no rush. Arrived on Friday, met Alex the host who was very accommodating and extremely helpful with knowledge of the local area excluding Butlins and lovely sites and beaches to see around the Somerset area. The rooms were well equipped with all the amenities you would expect, fresh towels, soaps and shampoos, teas and coffees and bottle of water. Our room was very comfy with a fantastic view of the beach of Minehead. It was a great location with a short walk into town or down close right past Blenheim Gardens and towards to the South West Coastal Path. The breakfast was also top notch, Options of cereal and fruits, jams and marmalade, with a Full English cooked fresh, all food sourced from the local food market which is held every Friday morning. The following days we explored the local area and also took a small 20-30minute drive to Lyton to explore the Valley of the Rocks and some private beaches along Woody Bay. I fully recommend this hotel to any couple that decides to stay and explore the area. More...

Stayed at the Marston lodge over new year and it was lovely breakfast was amazing set us up for the day room was really nice with lovely views of minehead owners were lovely especially Alex as he planned a couple of days out for us to parts of Somerset we would otherwise not have seen would definitely recommend had a really lovely time
