Booked our much loved fur baby Bella in with Paula for her 16 day holiday on the farm - we cried like babies when she drove off! After numerous text messages, photos & videos (Paula must have thought she had stalkers) we saw how well she was being looked after and how happy she looked with her ‘foster’ family We really can’t praise the service, we / Bella has received from Paula, we are beyond happy. I’ve been using Happy Hounds for years now. I mainly use them for dog and house sitting when we go away so that Poppy’s routine isn’t disturbed and the house is kept safe. We also use them occasionally for general dog walking. We have been impressed by their level of expertise and the advice that they gave in the early years and how calm and relaxed Poppy always is when we return. paula is well trained and a true professional and a ex vet nurse and has trained and home boarded our dog crystal since she was a pup she is nearly 7 years old now i would not trust her with any body else i have know paula personally for 7 years

We cannot thank Paula enough. Up until yesterday we were facing the prospect of having to rehome one or more of our gorgeous spaniels but after just 5 hours and lots of retraining us ; our girls are on their way to healing and becoming friends again after a spate of serious fights, 4 in the last 48 hours! We now have strategies for moving forwards and the difference in the girls behaviour this morning, even the 14 week old lol � cannot recommend highly enough, this has saved our family � More...

Paula and her lovely Mum Sue have helped me get 3 of my dogs through their Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Awards, and one through her silver. I have also boarded dogs with Paula and they've been looked after extremely well. And she also runs an excellent dog walking service where dogs come back content and well exercised. I have always loved Paula's classes, and am only sorry that I have not done this review earlier. It takes a special type of trainer to have the patience and open mindedness to teach a blind person such as myself, so I applaud Paula for this, as many trainers would just say no or put you off. What do you love most about your job?
I consider myself extremely lucky to do exactly what I love doing as my job!!! It has used me into buying my farm to further expand my business. My son following me with his behaviour degree has made me so proud of him.
I love meeting new people and their dogs with either serious issues or minor. What ever they are they issues are given my full attention as it matters to each client. Hearing back from clients about how the dogs have improved gives me a smile every day!!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Time!!! Time with my family and my own dogs. Work life balance was getting hard trying to continue at the vets and work for myself and raise a young family. So I took the plunge. Never looked back. I am very lucky to have a supportive family who help in the business and understand mum is dog mad!! Now the family is growing up and we have more time to pursue more dog based sports!!
Why should our clients choose you?
Because we care. if it's an issue we can't resolve ourselves, we will help you find someone who can. After being in business for so long we have made many contacts and we are firm believers in networking with other dog businesses to help achieve a top level of support for our clients. From a groomer to a canine physiotherapist or canine hydrotherapist we will happily pass clients on to those we feel can help better if we can't ourselves. Always better to work together.
