What a delight!!! My husband and I dress up for Halloween parties almost every year. We usually devise our own costumes, but due to time constraints decided to shop for our costumes this year. I looked on line for a costume shop and Happy Daze seemed to fit the bill. I started by asking questions on line. Keven was very helpful in explaining what was available. I asked a follow-up question and was answered promptly by Laura. We arrived at the shop 2 days later and couldn't have been more pleased. The costumes that we originally requested didn't work out for us, but Laura and Keven couldn't have been more helpful in finding the perfect costumes for us! We ended up renting very professional-looking costumes at a reasonable rate. I bought a wig just to add to the total look of mine.I would highly recommend Happy Daze to anyone who would like expert care and assistance in costuming as well as enjoy an extremely fun experience in the process! Went here to get a wig for Comic Con, the owner was really nice, helped me try on a few wigs and was honest about which one would meet my needs at the cheapest price. The thing I like best about this store is that it is small a family-run business. The salesperson I talked to was also the owner. Therefore, she knew the wares like the back of her hand and was great to bounce ideas off of. I only wish they were open on Sundays and Mondays. I need to make a costume by next week so I would like to go there today. I may end up using amazon or Walmart just because I need to get started right away. Otherwise, a good shop. More...

We moved here about 5 years ago and I needed face painting supplies and had some costume needs as I am a professional performer. This place is an absolute gem. They actually carry high quality professional face paints (Mehron, Nye, Wolf, Split Cakes) and theatrical gear that you can't find at a cookie cutter store. Tell them if you will need a product on a regular basis, and they might start carrying it. I am a last minute person who can't always depend on the internet to get supplies. Thank goodness for this place. It is neat and well taken care of, definitely a mom and pop store with warm and personal owners who take pride in their craft. Yes it is lived in, it has history. That's not a bad thing. I would shop here over any corporate non personal giant any day!!! Take any other reviews with a grain of salt, I have been in the entertainment business for over 20 years and places like this are true treasure troves and are becoming absolute necessity. I have found costumes and face paint here that would take 5 days to deliver on the internet. It's also nice to actually see your item in person or be able to rent a costume. There was no way these products would be stocked at Partycity (off season tights, accessories and quality face paint). It's not far off the highway and easily accessible from NYC or New Haven. I disagree with the negative review. The man who runs this shop was so helpful. I had a huge list of random costume and prop needs for a school play. He had absolutely everything, gave me a great discount and was as nice as could be. It is a terrific shop with sale and rental items. They are moving to West Ave. in early July so be mindful of that.
