Lovely hotel. Got a really good price too, considering we only booked the night before. It's located right outside Carlisle train station so location couldn't possibly be any better. Didn't hear a single train from inside our room so being so close to the train station wasn't a problem. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again More...

Like any Hallmark Hotel, the highest standards are expected. Here at Carlisle they deliver that and some. The staff are polite and courteous at all times and help is but a question away. Not one for those who like everything very shiny and new, but a cosy traditional hotel in a handy location with incredibly friendly, helpful staff even during a very busy time with major travel disruption.
If you are on your own, it is worth noting that the bed in a single room is much wider than a standard single, so if you normally get a double on your own for the extra space, you could well be very happy with the slightly cheaper option.
The buffet breakfast was fine, although there are a couple of pub alternatives round the corner for those on a budget or prefer breakfast cooked to order - The restaurant food smelled great, but was a bit pricy for me to try, so I can only review the delicious aroma!
Definitely worth a visit, and there are good deals on the hallmark website / intermittent mailing list to make it even more affordable too.

Located right by the train station its very easy to find and in a great location to base yourself.
Now I didn't stay over here and I can't comment on what it's like to spend a night but our works party was really good.
The staff are bang on in every way and I can't fault the service at all.

This is a older style hotel but with a fresh face. The staff are excellent. Extremely accommodating. Very good food menu if a little light in choice. But the choices are very tasty. All in all 5 star service very good rooms. Easy access to the rail links and good parking. More...

Initially we were a little disappointed with our room, the bathroom was particularly dated with rather grubby silicone and grout. We mentioned this to staff however, and they moved us to a much nicer room. The following morning, staff were again very friendly during breakfast and happy to accommodate our dog.
