Haleana makes you feel so relaxed. I don't really like having my photo taken but I really enjoyed our family pop up shoot back in December.
She was professional but fun and my son really warmed to her.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Enjoying what you do, having a creative vision for the image you are taking, and, if applicable, having a good rapport with the subject you are photographing.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It completely depends on the style of photography the client is asking for. For a wedding I would ask a series of questions which will help me to build an understanding of the couple, what their likes and dislikes are, and try to get a handle on their style. Most of all, I like to get to know my couples so that we have a good relationship by the time it gets to the big day! (I do love a good wedding).
For commercial shoots, I would ask for a brief. If there isn't one, I would ask a series of question about the product, the aim of the images (web/print/advertising etc.) and it would all help me to understand the kinds of images I would be producing.
For pets: "When was the last time they went to the toilet?" HA!
Newborns: (See above). JOKING! But I would definitely ask Mama to give baby a good feed before the shoot and make sure the heating is REALLY warm before I arrive (if doing a home-shoot). What do you love most about your job?
All of it.
I LOVE creating interesting images. Especially ones that tell a story. I often have a vision before I go into a project and go about trying to fulfil that image when taking the images, however I do love it when these things take on a life of their own and we end up going in a completely different direction! I love the adventure! Plus, I love meeting new people!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I spent a LONG time doing a job that I got no satisfaction out of and had been doing this on the side for some time. I decided that rather than be tied to a desk, doing something that made me miserable, I would take the plunge and pursue something that I love doing. I did, and I have not looked back since. (Plus, it helped that I had been doing photography as part of my role at that job for 10 years - so I had a lot of experience to make that "plunge" seem less of a deep one).
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I genuinely love what I do. I think that it really does make a difference to the images and the experience as a whole. A lot of people don't understand that using a professional photographer isn't just about the images that come out of it (although that is a big part). It's also about the experience as a whole. If a couple want to use a professional photographer for the most special day of their life, in my opinion, it is paramount that the relationship between them and the photographer is a good one, so that they can relax and enjoy the experience. This leads to better images in itself as you won't see a stiff, awkward looking bride and groom! Equally, for commercial clients, they want to know that the person they have hired is going to make their products and/or service look good and most importantly saleable. You can only hire someone that you feel confident in. I will do everything I can to understand fully what you want and what you want your images to achieve for you. Whether it's capturing the most special day of your life, or selling your products - maybe it's even capturing the character of your Pug dog - I will do the best job for you that I can possibly manage (and love every minute of it).
Wedding Photography

Engagement Photography
You and your spouse-to-be will be invited to have a chat about what kind of look and feel you are going for and we will decide where to take your pictures. Whether it be on the beach or in the forest, we will take some incredibly romantic and beautiful images prior to your big day. This is also a good opportunity to get to know me if I am doing your wedding photography.
Another little bonus, is that if you book the Engagement Photography package, you automatically qualify for 10% off any of our wedding packages.

Maternity Photograpy
As soon as you have had your 12 week scan, let me know and I will put your due date in the book. We will have a good chat about what you want and choose a date around the 30 week mark (we can revisit this depending on how you are feeling/how big your bump is getting)!
We will then decide between us whether you would like a studio or on location shoot and throw some ideas about of the kind of thing that you are interested in, the bits of you that you are self-conscious about and how we can overcome that. I have LOTS of tips and tricks to help you with anything like that so you are in good hands!

Newborn Photography
We have a selection of newborn packages for you to choose from but each session will be exactly the same. We will take your booking after your 12 weeks scan and put your due date in the diary. When it gets near to your date, we will check in and see how you are getting on - just to find out whether you think you will be going over/under and to get an idea of timings. If you are having an elective C-section, we may choose a date that is convenient for you and get that booked in. We understand that you can never tell how things are going to work in this case so we are super flexible and work around you.
Once your new bubba has arrived, we give you a set of instructions if we are having the shoot at your home, which will include turning the heating right up to keep baby feeling safe and sleepy, to make sure he/she has had a good feed (and possibly nappy change) just before we get there.
Once we get to your home or you get to our studio, we will walk you through everything so you don't have to worry. These session last for up to four hours (we know that sounds like a long time but between feeds, waiting for the baby to reach REM in deep sleep and nappy changes, you'll be amazed at how the time flies)!
It is important to note that we are trained to do this so will know how to handle/wrap and pose baby to get the best out of the sessions. You will have access to multiple backdrops/outfits/props and poses so your gallery should end up pretty healthy with choice.
You will immediately qualify for a HALF PRICE 6 month/sitting up session if you book this session.

6 Month/Sitting Up Sessions
Similar to the newborn shoot but much less complicated!
As soon as your little one is able to sit up confidently, you are eligible to book one of our 6 Month/Sitting Up Sessions.
These include multiple backdrops/outfits and poses (if we can get them to)!
These sessions typically last for up to two hours and there are a selection of packages to choose from.
If you book this session you will immediately qualify for a HALF PRICE Cake Smash Session.

Cake Smash (1st Birthday) Sessions
When baby reaches their first birthday, we like to celebrate by smashing up cakes!!
It's really simple: you bring your baby, we provide the outfits/backdrop and most importantly - the cake!
Just get in touch to book your session and let us know the kind of colours you'd like for the cake. Not only does baby get to smash it up, but you get to take the left-overs home with you!
Call us now to book your session. Sessions last for approx. 1-2 hrs.
If you book this session you will immediately qualify for a HALF PRICE family portrait session.
Family Sessions
We love to capture families together doing what they love.
If you are forest walkers, or maybe you like to go and skim pebbles on the sea, we want to come and capture you doing just that.
Get in touch to discuss your favourite locations and what you like to do there. We will happily come along and take some pictures of, what will be, memories to last you a lifetime.
Sessions last for 1-2 hours and are on location - to be discussed and agreed with us.
Pet Photography
We love your pets! ALL varieties too! (I'm still to photograph a tarantula if anyone owns one....)
We can either come to your home and photograph your pet in his or her own environment OR, if well-behaved enough, you can bring them into the studio! You decide whether you want to go for traditional portrait style shots, or (if we're at your home), more documentary-style, candid photography.
Sessions last from 1-2 hours depending on the pet.

Commercial Photography
If you have a product or service that you want to sell or promote, good quality photography is the best way to achieve this. There is NOTHING worse than trying to promote your business or products using bad quality images taken on your mobile phone!
I have day rates and half day rates and offer discounts in certain circumstances.
