Everything is delicious.
Pretty authentic if you order from the menu. Not greasy, good quality.

Very tasty food and authentic North Indian dishes.Mutter Panner was less creamy and tasty. They prepare the dishes as per the level of spicy you need it.Simple and neat restaurant and well maintained. More...
The food was very good. I am honestly not a fair judge of authenticity of Indian food, but there were several patrons who appeared to be of the same ethnicity, and I think that is a good sign. They have a large vegan menu. I had the malai kofta and it was truly delicious. The service is friendly and helpful. More...
The owner is great and the food is quite frankly criminally underpriced
it's so appetizing. staff treated us so kindly. it has an awesome atmosphere. food is similar to a cafe in portland i loved.
Delicious Indian food!
Love the buffet. Consistently delicious and always fresh. Best naan literally ever.
Did the spicy curry challenge and failed
Great food was visiting NJ all the way from Georgia. I was lucky to find a great restaurant. Their Dal is a must have. Thanks Sukhi bro.
Buffet @ $ 10 something, you can't go wrong. If you like Indian cuisine I will recommend this place.
Good indian food.
Hot spicy Indian the best !
Good service, good food. I believe that they have buffets for lunch.
Friendly family owned restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine. Overall great dining experience.
Excellent food and a friendly atmosphere
If you like Indian food then you have to come here! The staff and owner are extremely nice and pleasant. They have something for everyone! Most of the dishes are gluten/celiac friendly. My wife is so sensitive that she will not eat out most of the time. This is one of the only places that she trust. More...
Food was so appetizing. The service here is great. The bill was average for the menu. Food is similar to a cafe in Portland I loved.
Great service, food, and prices are hard to beat. Freshly baked naan bread based on flavor preferences. Visited twice within a week because it was so good and could eat there at least 3 times a week if I lived in the area. It was also nice that chai tea was included with the Buffet. High recommended! I really loved this place. Fast, efficient, and courteous service.
Great food. The chana masala (sp?) is the bomb

we went there for the buffet and found enough selection for vegetarian and non-vegetarian and also not everything was mild nor with everything overly hot and spicy. And it was a very nice surprise to have a birthday dessert arrive for our birthday guest Cheryl. More...
Great food great service
WOW! Hands down the BEST chicken tikka masala I have ever had. I was so impressed with how good the food was, I cannot wait to go back. The only thing is that they do charge extra for the naan, which I thought was a bit much. I think naan should be a part of the meal, not an extra few dollars for every basket. Otherwise, great service, delicious food. I'd recommend it! More...
Amazing food and staff
I was never a big fan of Indian food and went here with a friend. I was highly impressed. The food was great and the sevice exceptional. I'm positive I will return.

Great lunch buffet. Enough choices for both veg and nonveg.
Been multiple times and it has been amazing full of flavor! To those who have left bad reviews obviously you habe no clue what good food is... My children are picky eaters and they enjoyed Haldi Chowk as well... Thanks for giving us a spot to come to on Sundays.... see you soon More...
Very good cuisine, though our 'medium spicy' dishes were milder than we expected.
I enjoyed the food and if course it was fast because it was a buffet, but my favorite part was the discussion of part the menu with the knowledgeable staff. My feeling is this restaurant is a hidden gem. More...
Food is so delicious. Went for the lunch buffet and they had a pretty good selection for the price. Love it and would definitely recommend!
Best Indian I’ve ever had
First time there. It was a nice place. Service was good. Food was tasty. I didn't honestly eat a ton, mostly had the noodles because it was the only thing that didn't have cilantro in it and I am allergic. Hubby said it was good.
Wonderful food at an unbelievable price. My only caveat - it is usually crowded, so give yourself ample time or call ahead.
I love their bread and lunch buffet.
Frankly I cannot get enough of this place. I mean that on several levels. Starting with the food; just wow! I've eaten at several Indian restaurants, Aamantran, Bombay River, Neelam and a couple others in the area, though they were great to good in no particular order, the food at Haldi Chowk just really finds a way to be better. It's Northern India fare which typically comes with a bit of heat on the dish already which the server will tell you is their mild, but it can be made milder to suit your tastes if needed, just be sure to mention it when you're ordering. And if you like it hot, you've come to the right place because they can kick it up several notches too! There's even a contest on Sundays at 12:30 to see if you can win the high heat challenge. I've had numerous dishes here, though my personal favorite is the chicken korma, throw a dart at the menu, because it's all good. Great dishes, perfect naan, a fantastic mango lassi and yes they often have a buffet. On other levels of 'can't get enough of this place'...Buffet: Not a lot of options compared to other establishments. Typically, you'll find two meat options, a veggie and/or a fish option. The buffet station itself is poorly placed too. Rather than put away the eight tables they have against the wall on the left when you first come in, they instead position it to the left and right sides of the main entrance. On a cold day some of the hot dishes closest to the door turn cold. You also have to navigate around new customers coming in as you self serve your way around the buffet. They'd be better off placing a few chairs there for waiting customers as well as a hostess station and instead, set the buffet up against the aforementioned wall. Service: Not enough servers at peak times. If you're on a tight time schedule during a peak time, be sure to tell your server ahead of time. Seating: It's a small establishment and nearly every empty space has a table and chairs in it. Most times that's okay, because it's pretty empty, but at peak times, the wait is just too much. Then once seated, it may feel overcrowded and uncomfortable with the tables and chairs so close to one another. Honestly, they need a larger space for that many tables.Parking: It's a popular strip mall in the area so parking can be rough. Also the spaces themselves are somewhat narrow. On windy days hold your car door tightly and pray others do the same.Summary: The food is just plain great though so it's still getting four stars and I definitely recommend you go. I'll definitely be back a couple times a month. Between the big portions, the friendly service and well cooked dishes to order, it's definitely worth a few visits! More...
Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely spectacular.
This is probably the best Indian restaurant in Monmouth county, it's a fairly new place, only opened two years ago I think. I have eaten there three times with my family and the food has been excellent all three times. The service is very good, the food comes out fast enough and nice and hot like it just came of the stove. More...
Food is amazing.
Food was fresh and delicious, owner was very nice and helpful, we will definitely be back.
Great lunch buffet with a great selection, friendly staff, and naan included!!!
Great food. buffet is really nice
Great place to eat
I love this restaurant. The food is always so good (the goat is the best!) and the staff so helpful. The owner is such an honest and friendly man. I've eaten the goat kadai and vindaloo which I absolutely suggest for the adventurous eater! My mom is not very adventurous eater aba had their butter chicken and chicken kurma and enjoyed it both times. You can choose your voice level which makes it ideal! More...

Went here for the lunch buffet. Food was tasty and fresh. Attentive staff. Good number of vegetarian options. There were only chicken dishes on the non-veg side. Fantastic food. An inexpensive lunch buffet on both the weekend and weekdays. Nice variety, including naan and chai. Highly recommended!
The best food. Wonderful. Rich flavors
I like the food here, special the goat meat.
A little bland for authentic Indian but food quality is better than a few other Indian restaurants in the vicinity like Neelam and Tandoor-e-India. Staff is definitely courteous and that's a plus! I'd prefer to go to Edison or old bridge for authentic taste though. More...

Lunch buffet is delicious. Staff is very friendly.
A little wait, but well worth it!
UPDATE:Came here again and holy cow! I missed this food! Amazing flavors! Service was on point! I’m so glad to put this a 5 star review!! Very very pleased! The owner came out and chatted with us a bit and explained various menu items and new offerings. I felt very appreciated as a patron and that time was taken out to explain items on the menu was really great. Soooooo happy we came back! This was a 5 star but we waited over an hour for our food and then our check made its way to a different table. What should have been a quick-ish meal took almost 2 hours...We were also never asked if we wanted a box for our left overs. A place I loved to eat greatly disappointed.Amazing, fresh food. My only complaint would be the wait for food to come, but I assure you the food is delicious. More...
Went with a party of 13! Great food for vegans, great service.
The food was great as was the service.
Great small restaurant. Unbeatable price for the lunch buffet. Selection of the dishes is not that great, but the food is very good.
Food is fine. The ToGo quantity is on the lower side compared to the price you are paying.
Fresh delicious and generous portions.
Terrific food. Authentic Indian homestyle cuisine at reasonable prices. Cozy restaurant in a non descript shopping center. You will not be disappointed.
I absolutely love Haldi Chowk! I dream about their paneer butter masala everyday.
Very good food, like it so much . I wish this restaurant stay for long time

Great food and service. Awesome lunch buffet
GREAT FOOD,STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL GOING OVER AND BEYOND TO HELP. A PLEASANT EARLY DINNER BUFFET.
Good Indian food.
Food is always incredible. Nicest people, great food.
To start with, I knew this restaurant had good food, but didn't know they were too good for catering. While I was shopping for good catering/food for my party, I was recommended this place hands down by my friends. This is when I went to see Deepak, the owner of Haldi Chowk at Middletown, NJ. Deepak was friendly, while taking our inputs, he politely recommended what's best given our requirements. He treated us like a family member and provided us the best price while tweaking the items per our requirements. He provided competitve pricing and offered catering to us more than what we wished for. There was no bargaining required. He communicated frequent enough throughout the time to ensure there are no loose ends. He sounded like a man who keeps his words, quality, service and satisfaction no matter what. At one point I wanted to add extra apetizers, to which he ensured what he planned is good enough and do necessary adjustments within that. I didn't need to add extra food. Come the day of event, he showed up on time with one of the best helper he had. He came himself as one of his crew member was not available. They not only took care of setting up in grand fashion what they brought, but also set up what I brought from outside for the party. While I didn't count on him for that, he took best decisions to set those things up to to make event look the best. He was on his toes with his crew all the time and made sure he is keeping the food covered, warm, stirred from time to time while also managing non-catered food. He made event look like his own and mingled with the family as if he is part of family/hosts. They didn't rest or eat at all for close to 5 hrs onsite! They made sure area is clean at all times! Once the event was over, him and crew helped pack left overs for the family and guests. He left the area in pristine clean condition.Everyone who visited enjoyed the food and catering. Lot of people already knew him and felt great that I had him for my catering food... As he is the best! I strongly recommend Haldi Chowk and Deepak hands down for catering needs! HE IS THE BEST!! Few weeks back while visiting local beaches we ended up to this location with few friends for a dinner. The food was amazing and, the portion of the main dishes were moderate compare to many resurgent in the area. The service was great, our server who was an American lady who had all the knowledge of Indian dishes and what to recommend. We all go to restaurants first for a good food. So in terms of what we ordered was all vegetarian food the quality of the food was far better then any restaurants in area. We wanted to add few more bread since the food was so delicious it took less then 5 min for them to get us more bread while we were still having dinner. Few times during our meal along with the server the owner Deepak came by and make sure everything was in order and wanted to know if we wanted anything else. It is remarkable that they attended all guest while the place was packed on busy Saturday night.Based on our experience we are planning to head back soon to Haldi Chowk with more friends during our next visit to the Jersey Beaches during summer months. We will update on our next visit based on our experience. More...

Definitely the best Indian food you can get in the area!
Great food. Must go if you are into Indian food
Excellent taste like hime
A cozy BYOB, this place has always been pretty packed the past 3 times we have gone but we never had to wait for a table. They do take reservations, however I don't think you would need them (unless word really starts getting out and this place becomes super packed). The food comes out fast, hot, and delicious. You don't feel rushed to eat, and in fact the first time we went we probably spent 2 hours eating and drinking our wine. The waiters leave a nice cold carafe of water on the table and continuously refill it during your meal so you NEVER need to ask for water (what a great concept.... more restaurants should be doing this). If you like spice this is your place. I ordered my food the spiciest and it really was crazy hot (but delicious) so I suggest medium spiciness at the most unless that's what you're going for.Your curry dishes come with rice. I suggest ordering the garlic chili naan - it is absolutely INCREDIBLE and goes great with the curry sauces.Overall you're getting amazing Indian food at a very affordable price. It wouldn't be crazy to call this one of the best restaurants in Middletown at the moment. I will be updating my review the next time I go with pictures and my experience with the buffet - I hear it is quite good and with a nice variety. More...

Haldi Chowk consistently delivers high quality service and food. We were very excited to hear a new Indian restaurant was opening in Middletown and it only took one visit to know this place is far superior to the competition.
A la carte was great when we went for dinner. We've been hitting the buffets a lot lately - insanely good and a very good price to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the more negative recent reviews originate from the other Indian joint down the road a bit. 4 out of 5 stars solely due to somewhat repetitive buffet options, but they're doing a great job nonetheless. Yum! Sliding into food coma after Sunday buffet. Pace yourselves, folks. There's a lot to enjoy. Not everything is the best I've ever had and my fiancee, from Delhi, complains about this and that. Uncomparable quality and taste among Indian restaurants I've tried, WOW
Awesome food, deliciously spiced, always fresh, always good. The owner, Deepak, is passionate about his food and is happy to discuss preparation. Every dish I have sampled is outstanding. Goat curry with cardamom, Lamb Rogan Josh, chicken tikka, tandoor, daal, channa shag, aloo Gobi, garlic naan, raita, chutneys, pappadam, it's all good. The lunch buffet is a steal at $ 10.95.If you like Indian food you must go, you won't be disappointed. More...

THE BEST INDIAN FOOD IN NEW JERSEY If you love Indian food then you must try out this place and I bet you will love the food and service Haldi Chowk provides. I am a frequent visitor and my favorite items are Goat Curry, Butter Chicken, Daal Makhani, Aloo Gobi and Saag Paneer. The Biryanis and breads are really good too.You should even try the lunch buffet which is quite reasonably priced with the same top quality food.In addition to the excellent quality and finger licking tasty food the service is top class and the entire staff is very friendly and courteous More...

One of the most delicious meal I ever had !!
As an ardent fan of Indian food, I must say that this place deserves no less than 5 stars. If you are in New Jersey and want to try some delicious Authentic Indian food then Haldi Chowk is the right destination for you. Haldi Chowk used to be at a different location(Parlin) earlier and now it has moved to Middletown, NJ. I just went over this weekend for the lunch buffet and I had a fantastic experience. The Lunch Buffet on the weekend costs you around $14 for the Non Veg buffet and around $12 for the Veg buffet and its completely worth it. Now the most interesting thing is that Haldi Chowk has opted for a pretty unique and effective concept of a Table Service Buffet where the customers are served each item fresh and hot at the table itself. The customers could order the servers to bring in more food if they need more of some. I just loved this concept and I think this is the only restaurant in New Jersey to have implemented this. Coming to the taste and quality of the food, each and every item I tried, was nothing less than delicious. Right from the mouth watering Appetizers(Chicken Malai tikka, Chicken tandoori, Chicken Seekh Kabab, Fish Pakoras) to the finger licking Main Course(Veg Biryani, Butter Chicken, Chicken Saag, Goat Curry, Paneer Makhni, Aloo Baingan, Tawa Bhindi, Rajma, Butter Naans), did complete justice to the newly introduced Table Service Buffet concept. The Strawberry custard was the perfect ending as a tasty desert as well. The staff was extremely courteous and service was very good. The owners walk up to you from time to time to check if everything was going fine. I will definitely keep going back for more to this wonderful food destination. More...
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! For starters the food is great. Comes with good quantity and the quality of the food is amazing. Prices are a tad bit high, however, overall was a great experiance. Will definitely come here more!Buffet is throughout the week, weekdays for about 9$ and weekends for about 12$. However I ordered and still was good quality. Waiters/Waitresses were nice and food was prepared right out of the oven! Delicious taste and an eye catcher! Definitely recommend this! A++++ More...

Absolutely I recommend it, I tasted the vegetarian Thali it was such a perfect start to be my first day; Definitely this is my favorite restaurant now, best food, best service, I am going to keep going back.
Legit. Love spicy food and I am used to ordering "hot" at other Indian places in the area. I ordered "hot" and holy it was SO SPICY. Like, lungs closed up spicy. I know that next time I'll probably order it "medium". Regardless, it was delicious and I ate every last bite. But please, Haldi Chowk, don't tone down the spices to please people with boring taste buds! It was refreshing and felt authentic based of the patrons. More...
Amazing food! This place has changed my life! I have become a life long patron. Chef has some serious magic in his hands
