I have extremely long (past my butt) hair that tends to dry out. Kim is the only stylist that I've ever been to that doesn't get chop happy when I sit in the chair. If I ask her to take 2" off, she takes 2" off. She really listens to what I want and doesn't throw her own opinions in there (well she does make suggestions, but there's a difference). I've been going to her for years and the one thing I notice is that each time I'm there she's talking about a class she took. She's always trying to improve upon herself. Recently new to the area and trying to find a good hair dresser is a lot of work , especially someone who knows how to work with naturally curly hair. Kimberly was amazing to work with even with making the appointment and sharing photos of the highlighted look I was looking for. She really took the time to look at the texture of my hair and where the highlights worked best and walked my through the steps. I'm so happy to have found Kimberly -now I don't have to drive to Boston for a cool haircut! She's super knowledgeable and immediately figured out what I did/didn't want in a haircut just by looking at a bunch of random instagram pics I printed out, and the end result was better than I hoped. Kimberly explained what she was doing and why when cutting, then walked me through step by step how to style it myself at home, which I really appreciated. I have been going to Kimberly Bamford for quite a while, and I'm always thrilled with my hair. I decided after many years that I wanted to go shorter. She was foiling my hair anyway, and I was so nervous about getting my hair cut. Kim's really great, very friendly and understanding. By the time I was done, my hair looked fabulous. Wet hair pulled into a ponytail 350 days of the year. I had enough and asked for help. Kimberly took the time to look, listen and advise. And my hair turned out beautiful. She even took me on a day off of hers (which was also an anniversary special day for her) to help me look nicer. WAY NICER. Met approx 15 people since I left her studio/salon today and at least 10 of the complimented me on my hair cut and color. I haven't had 10 compliments in 5 years. Went to turn my uneven purple hair into a more natural color. It took awhile to figure out what worked with my hair (due to my mistreatment) but Kim figured it out and turned it into a beautiful light brown with some nice highlights. Yesterday was my second appointment with Kim. My hairstylist retired after going to her for 25 years I had tried several others and they did okay but Kim really is outstanding. She started to show me colors that she thought would go with my skin coloring and eyes I picked the first one as it was perfect. The salon is beautiful and very inviting. The scheduling is easy.
