I was introduced to Martin the owner of GWRI through Guardian Roofs head office after very nearly being duped by another company who we believe had quoted us for a Guardian Roof but after some red flags we realised this cheaper quote was for a wrap over roof & not a genuine Guardian roof.
I can not recommend Martin at GWRI highly enough, he was extremely professional, knowledgable & friendly. The initial quote was comprehensive with a complete breakdown of costs with many options for different windows, blinds, tiling, so we could tailor make our room to what we wanted & it was reassuring to know exactly what we were paying for.
At the time we needed to get our finances sorted, so there was a few weeks before we placed the order, there was no hard sell by Martin. When we did finally give GWRI the go ahead, the service & communication we received was second to none. All the tradesmen Martin uses are top professionals who were respectful, friendly & most importantly did a top notch job.
Our intentions on having the roof changed was to remove the internal doors from our house to the conservatory to make it open plan, (this work was also completed by GWRI). Prior to the work I was always slightly worried that it may make our house cold. These concerns were quickly put to rest, the roof has made an unbelievable difference, not cold at all & the work was done early January in some of the coldest temperatures!!! We can now finally make full use of this room after 10 years & we’ve had lots of compliments from our neighbours on how amazing it looks. I can’t recommend Martin at GWRI highly enough! First class product, first class service! You get what you pay for & worth every penny!!!

From start to finish, the whole process of the refurbishment of our existing conservatory by GWRI (Martin Bishop) was excellent.
Karl and Ian, the installers of the windows, doors and pitched roof, were brilliant; they completed the job in four and half days; each day, they left the area in a clean and tidy condition and did not trouble us at all.
Simon the plasterer followed on and then when the roof had dried out, the painter gave the roof three coats of paint. Finally, Lee the electrician completed the installation of the roof lights.
It all went very smoothly, with no fuss or bother and we are so pleased with our new conservatory - we have gained an extra room to use both winter and summer and it has added real value to our house.

Our only concern before installation was that we would loose some of the natural light from the original roof, however, there has been no loss of natural light at all as we have had a widow which, for us, makes it look even better.

The work of replacing the glass conservatory roof with a solid roof was undertaken by GWRI Ltd and the actual work was done by Karl Jones and Ian Glynne. They were working in difficult conditions under the Coronavirus restrictions but they were quite marvellous with a high level of workmanship and left everything very clean and were extremely courteous. Martin at GWRI was great to deal with. No pressure selling, he showed us all options available & answered all our queries.
Even when I added a few extras, it was no problem.
The roof was fitted within the timescale given & they worked very cleanly & were all very polite & considerate.
The difference the roof has made to the temperature in the room is noticeable & now we can't even hear the rain!

We are really happy with our new conservatory roof. We have a great new roof with every detail we wanted taken care of, like electric roof lights.
Other companies would not do this, but with GWRI, we got exactly what we wanted. The workmen were very courteous and efficient and the roof was finished to a very high standard.
Martin suggested replacing our Edwardian roof with a Gable roof and we are so glad we did, the effect is stunning and the room feels much bigger. On top of it all we don’t have to worry about how cold the conservatory will be this winter - we can feel the difference already. Looking forward to a cooler conservatory next summer!

I like to know what work is going to happen and when, plus the approximate time of completion, purely to structure my own expectations.
Martin understood this and, even though some dates had to be changed I was kept fully informed , either by text, email or telephone.
His workforce, be it the construction team, electricians or painter/decorator, was first-class and delivered a superb conservatory conversion that fully met the design we had envisaged and agreed on.
We did ask Martin, at the outset, to input his own thoughts on our project and any contribution he made was much valued.
The inclusion of decoration within the quotation meant I was left with a fully completed conversion .

What do you love most about your job?
We love transforming old and tired conservatories into stunning new all year round living spaces, as well as building gorgeous new sun rooms too.
We are very conscientious and take pride in our work. We really enjoy every new project converting our client's unusable conservatories into new beautiful cosy conservatories, garden rooms, sun rooms, extensions.
They are always so delighted with the conversions they fall in love with their conservatory again and spend most of their time in their stunning new room.
This makes us very happy and extremely proud of the great feedback and recommendations we receive.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been involved in the conservatory industry since 1996 on the manufacturing side specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium roofing systems and Pvcu frame systems. Over the years I have seen the progression of new products enhancing existing and new conservatories.
Since the introduction of the warm roof for existing conservatories 6 years ago we have seen a great demand for a product giving the solution to the common problems existing conservatories experience throughout the year. I have designed, manufactured and installed the product since its introduction and worked with the same very experienced installers and tradesmen since then. I started my own business to continue retail installing the product to a high end finish with the same installers and tradesmen when the manufacturing company ceased installing.
