Guitar Lessons

Excellent tutor and very patient I'm 70 and not as quick on the uptake as I used to be. I'm very happy with the service. Thanks.

Guitar Lessons

Excellent response I've had my first lesson yesterday. I really enjoyed it. Andy was very patient with this slow old man.

Q&As

As my profession is also my greatest passion, I have a natural joy and enthusiasm for what I do which extends to all aspects of my work, whether it's teaching, performing, or practicing!
Whether it's the satisfaction a beginner gets from learning their first chords and songs, to advanced players successfully tackling a difficult technique, it is always a pleasure to see students progress and be a part of their musical journey.

My love of music and playing guitar led me to study the instrument seriously and eventually be good enough to take it up professionally, where I discovered that I had a passion and ability for teaching the guitar as well as performing.

I am a pro guitar player and teacher with well over 20 years of continual professional teaching and performing experience which enables me to understand your guitar playing needs and to know how to help you progress.
I can patiently take you through from the very first steps of guitar playing by teaching you foundation skills such as chords, riffs, strumming and fingerpicking, enabling you to learn and enjoy playing some of your favourite songs.
If you've been playing a while and want to get further into the guitar, I can show you how to develop core skills like how to understand the fretboard, applying the concepts of music theory to understand how to use scales and chords, and teach you the techniques and conventions of the styles of guitar playing that you want to learn like blues, rock, pop, country, jazz, funk etc.
Advanced players can benefit from my knowledge and experience by studying areas such as advanced music theory concepts, improvisation, in depth stylistic analysis and technique.

Thanks!

Absolutely! In my experience, online lessons are every bit as good as face to face. Even before the pandemic, I was teaching online to students as far afield as Australia, but when the lockdowns forced the issue, my face to face students converted to online, and some prefer it even now, as it saves a journey!
Some potential students may instinctively feel that online guitar lessons aren't suitable for them, but my advice is to give it a try, especially if you like the idea of a particular teacher but they might be too far away to travel to. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised! All you need is a good internet connection and a webcam and you're good to go!
