I love this place! It's been fun to see it evolve since it's opening and I hope it stays strong. Will have to update my food photos next time but be assured that their food is excellent. I am in love with (and currently jonesing for) their Bratchos, I have to get about two additional servings of banana peppers! If you have a chance check out the breakfast menu and of course the wurst themselves nothing I've had or sampled has disappointed. The decor is crazy and eclectic but works, new outdoor patio looks inviting (dogs must stay out of serving area which puts them near a drive aisle so probably best to leave the puppers at home). One funny thing I've noticed is I'm not quite sure I've come across an establishment that has so many messages from the Ownership? I could go either way on some of and understand why they feel the need to discuss/broadcast their decisions but on the other hand, can I just come their and enjoy the experience and think on other things than the details of the credit card fees Again not a big issue but just very strange way of communication not seen many other places. While I am not a big fan of their beer the IPA is solid, this is their only weak spot but it should not deter you from trying them.Lastly, from a location perspective I am so so so happy to have them as an option on the strip and before Hawkeye basketball games! Never leave! More...
great atmosphere, good food, good beer and people r so friendly!!!!
We had Guild at our wedding. They were very friendly and best of all their food was delicious! I love going to their restaurant but also recommend them for catering at events!
Great place! Great food! Inspired the illustration below! Keep up the great job!
Loved the beer, soup and wurst. Great salad too. Friendly staff with excellent service.

Super introduction to Iowa City for the football game tomorrow! The Brat’chos were great and the beer good and cold. Don’t know when we will be back in Iowa City, but if we are back we will surely stop back by Guild.

Visited Guild 8.17.19, loved the friendly atmosphere and great service! ❤️ Delicious Yeti Cookies ❤️
This is a fantastic restaurant that has a variety of food that requires more than one trip. We had the grilled cheese which was classified as the best ever tasted and a Reuben that consisted of a slab of corned on the border of a half inch thick. The Reuben was worth writing home about. Prior to the main meal the brachoes are a must try which we will get ever time we visit the wurst. Also the pretzel bites are something that should be passed up. The waitress did an unbelievable job of relating the various beers to something that would contour up in your mind what it would taste like. For example this is the beer you would drink after cutting the grass. If you come to Coralville this is the place to eat and in the future when we pass through this Iowa town we will be stopped to have the wurst food. More...
Fabulous housemade sausage, fries, beer and ice cream. Great wait staff. The brewery has a fun creation story about the owners on the Appalachian Trail and have incorporated into the decor and menu.
We had been meaning to stop in here for some time and we just hadn't had the chance, it was worth the wait! Came in on a Sunday for lunch/brunch. Not crowded, but a few tables. Wait staff was quick to greet and seat us, the continued to be great for our entire visit. Family got sodas, I got the Omnibook stout, it was a great beer! Only down side to the beer selection is they only have their craft beers, and no mainstream options were available. Full bar available. Food was great, I got the feature brat, wife and daughter got breakfast. Food came out quickly and it was delish! We got a growler to go before we left. Cost was crazy, but it was inexpensive either. Would DEFINITELY come back again and would tell my friends about t as well! More...

This brewhouse is family-owned and well run. Check the blackboard for the new brews. And get a dessert. Or the almonds. Or both. Just had the chicken salad sandwich. Excellent chicken salad on grilled bread. Yes, grilled--to perfection, I might add. With fresh mint in there somewhere. Very good. And the staff are as amazing as the food. Really fun place start to finish!! More...
We stopped by Guild Wurst Tavern while visiting Iowa City. The atmosphere was great, in addition to the friendly wait staff. We ordered the Bratchos as an appetizer. They were a very tasty twist of typical nachos. I ordered the Wurst Burger, which ended up being rather oxymoronic as it was fantastic. The combination of the chopped up wurst, onions, and the 'shoppe sauce was delightful. The server recommended it and I'm glad that she did! I'm glad we visited this establishment and I hope to do so again next year. More...
Everything is awesome! I've only been there a handful of times, but I've never left disappointed. The food is great, the people are super-friendly, and the atmosphere is chill. What more could you ask for?

Love the food, atmosphere and all the help are wonderful..
I love the staff best. Also great beer, entrée, and desert menu choices! Excellent homemade ice cream!
Ach du Lieber! Best bratwurst in town
Loved this place! If anyone remembers "The Bar ber shop", these are the same folks. They brew their own beer. Really good stuff! Also great sausages!!
Charles A. Dunning
Great food and awesome service.
beer is good also the food
People are very nice, food is good.. only bad thing is service was incredibly slow today, took an hour to get our order which was brats, a waffle and biscuits and gravy. Hope that’s not the usual

Best kept secret in the Iowa City/Coralville area.

friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Good beer and food too.
The staff really make you feel at home. The Toasted Bird beer is awesome!
great beers and service!!
Great friendly atmosphere with awesome food and beer.
Stopped in cause the hub's is into German food, it did not disappoint. All the staff seemed genuinely nice, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Everyone is friendly. Beer was awesome! The almonds were amazing. We will be back
Good food, good beer, good service in a fun atmosphere!
Everything was good! I’ll be back!
Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon just missed brunch. The parking is limited but, it is worth it if you have to park and walk. The decor is great and the staff was very friendly. The beer and food was great. Best part is you can buy bratwurst to go! More...
food was amazing, beers were awesome, and our waitress was so nice and helpful. will definitely come back!
What a gem! They brew their own beer, make their own bratwurst. Fun new flavor combinations for the adventurous pallet and some old mainstays for folks who value the familiar. Tasty eats and a friendly, cheerful staff. More...
We sampled 4 of the sausages. They are tasty, and so are the beans. Beer selection is fairly limited, but we found something to appease. Drink specials are great, strawberry vodka lemonade with real strawberries. The other two in my party were bigger fans than I was, but I'd probably go back. Service was friendly. More...
Food is very good. Believe almost all of the food is made in house. Beer is also very good.
The beers and ambiance.......
The food is great and the staff are friendly.
Great beer, delectable food, & excellent service.
Can not say enough good things about this restaurant. We've been there for Brunch, Delicious!! We've been there for lunch and dinner. The guildwurst, the pretzel nibs, the burgers, the german potatoes, the seasonal wurst, the soup . . . I could go on and on. We have never been disappointed when we eat here.Drinking there is quite nice too. We've enjoyed the Horse Thief, Rocky's Favorite, Omnibock, Bird's Toasted Coconut and their seasonals. So very good!! Really nice dining area and the staff is great! More...
I've heard so many good things about the food & beer here so we finally gave it a try. My husband and I tried the traditional guildwurst complete with brown mustard, onions, and sauerkraut. It was divine! We both also tried the chips and onion cottage cheese dip which was pretty tasty. They have so many beers to try that they brew in house! Definitely will be back! More...
Fresh made and cooked sausage!
First time here. Super fast and friendly service. The food was as tasty as it gets. Fairly small place but cozy. The walls look like they could use some work, but it is all about the craft beer, sausage and fantastic sides. Just the way I like it! Can't say enough about the service, super friendly -- impressive portions. I will be back. More...
THEY MAKE BEER AND SAUSAGES. It's like Heaven, but real.

My partner ordered the Jerk bratwurst. It was spicey and full of flavor. I ordered the Buff Chicken Salad with grilled chicken; it was tasty without leaving my mouth on fire...full of fresh spinach which was a nice surprise. We had the Coffee Cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert...simple and decadently good...salted butter on top was a great touch. Staff was very friendly and attentive. This was a quiet night and I can picture this place filling up when school is in session. Highly recommended. More...
First time here and ordered the jerk wurst with grilled squash. After grazing over Christmas, the squash was the right choice. The jerk wurst had some heat, let me tell you. It builds. The heat is complimented by the pineapple and peppers. I'd get it again in a heartbeat! For dessert we split the coffee cake & ice cream. I was cynical about having coffee cake for dessert, but was pleasantly surprised! Again, this is a keeper. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Since i don't drink, i can't comment on the beer, but they had 10 on tap this night. Looks like they had something for everyone! More...
Great food fast service we would definitely come back
Good Craft Beer. Wurst. Excellent Staff.
Yummu!!! Came with a group bbn of six and we all had something different. We all were pleased and left full!! Will come back!!
Decided to celebrate my birthday Saturday during the Iowa Game. Myself and 8 friends were there for a little while before and stayed the duration of the game. We had a wonderful time. Food was awesome, beers are fabulous and the staff treated us like family. They have some, if not the best, service in town. One of my go to places in C.V. THANKS FOR HELPING MAKE MY BIRTHDAY MEMORABLE!!! More...
A taste of Wisconsin in the heart of Iowa. We're glad we found this gem as we were heading back to Madison. Great craft beers, excellent Bloody Mary's and friendly service. The menu has a lot to offer which makes selection difficult. They specialize in sausage so my husband ordered the wurst with a side of German potato salad. They make and smoke their sausages in-house. It was excellent and large. The potato salad was average. Not recommended. We were there for an early lunch so I opted for a less filling option. The grilled cheese with bacon -- you get a choice of cheeses so I ordered ghost pepper and cheddar. Excellent choice. Grilled cheese nirvana. The side of fries were just OK.I look forward to a return visit the next time we're in town and I'll definitely order a sausage. More...
My first time here after being invited by a friend to see a band. It's a comfortable small place with super friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised that it was the home to boot and Flute brewery. I had tried their beers before and really liked them. I didn't try the food this outing, but I'm looking forward to going back for it. The prices seemed fair and everyone there treated me like I was a regular. Definately a good place to hang for a brew or two More...
Great service and food
I've never had this style of food or sausages before in my life so I had no idea what to expect. I went with my parents not long after they had opened and it was an interesting experience! The service was wonderful. The food was good, but it was quite salty for all of us. Maybe it's because we weren't used to the style of food, but it was just a tad bit salty for us to finish our meals. The chips were fantastic though! Maybe we'll give a different menu item a try next time! More...
We went on a Wednesday evening and the crowd was pretty sparse, but the staff was very attentive. I appreciated that the music wasn't too loud to be able to enjoy each others' conversation. Food was great! We ordered pretzel bites and one of us ordered the kale salad with a cup of beer cheese soup (which wasn't on the menus but on the blackboard by the bar), and I ordered a burger with a side of chips and dip. Great house made chips! We also had a 9 month old in our group, who caused a bit of a scuffle when he tipped over my water glass, but the staff was so accommodating and immediately brought over towels and helped us clean up. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the selection of beer is limited if you don't like hoppy beers. I think it's safe to say we will be back; we are anxious to try the brunch. More...
What a hidden little gem! Found this place on a whim looking for brunch after church. The tenderloin & waffle was delicious. And the service was great. Good spot! More...
Great beer and even better sausages. Super nice people and a great atmosphere. Anything on the menu is good. They have sausages to go! Wife loves them and makes sure I bring them back home. More...
The sign out front promises, "good food and fresh beer." Guild Wurst over delivers. From the sausages made on site to the Boot n' Flute Brewery, this is a Coralville favorite. Don't let the external appearance fool you (the restaurant's home is in an old lube shop), the food and beer are hand crafted by loving locals -- the owners of the former favorite The Bar'br Shop (the cow and piggies burger made it onto the new menu). You can't go wrong with a Guild Wurst brat and a Horse Thief Wheat beer. For an extra treat get the homemade chips and dip on the side. Try the brunch too. Guild Wurst is my favorite hometown haunt. Great place! Wonderful, friendly staff, delicious food, awesome craft beer!

Very decent albeit limited menu. The regular burger was solid. As were the breakfast options and sides. Very fun ambiance and decor. Will be back for their live music nights. More...
Great food and beverage! The squash is simply amazing!
I am so happy I finally got to go here over the weekend. I really enjoyed the Bar'ber shop when it was around and this place has the same owner. The staff was fantastic. They are very friendly and attentive. After a long day at work it was very relaxing to be truly taken care of. I had the patty melt which was outstanding. It was a cheesie, greasy, gooey decadent mess and I loved every bite of it. I had a flight of Guild brew, Omnibook stout, Rocky's favorite Belgian, and Zero day IPA. I am a fan of Stouts and IPA's and both did not disappoint. I am not normally a fan of Belgian wheats, but this one stole the show. It's aroma is delicate on the nose and and it has a very light and satin mouth feel. The taste delicate as well with the wheat coming in first with a light coriander finish. This is the first beer in a long time that put a smile on my face and made me want more. I really felt like I was trying something new which was very enjoyable. Thank you Guild. More...
The service is amazing as the entire staff waits all tables. You never have to wait long to get a refill or ask a question. The food was delivered in a timely manner on a busy Saturday night and the food was warm and delicious. We highly recommend and we will be back! More...
Everything was fantastic. You won't be unhappy. We were there for Sunday brunch and left fat and happy.
It was our first visit. It won't be the last. The food was excellent. There is more to the menu than you might expect. The service and atmosphere were also great. I highly recommend Guild Wurst Tavern! More...
The best part? The fun personality of the staff! The brats were good and interesting. Our friends enjoyed the beer selection. I'll go back.
Holy breakfast. This place kicks the first meal of the day right in the huevos. I stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and enjoyed an amazing meal after a short wait for a table. My partner and I SPLIT the Breakfast in Bed ($15) and it was the perfect amount of food. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I've ever had and the sausage link is made in house. Very yummy. I can't wait to stop in for brunch again. They also have lots of delicious beers and sausage/burger/fried food goodness for lunch and dinner. More...
Split a Tenderloin & Fries with my father, we also split house chips & onion dip, very good, we will definitely go back, I've heard the breakfast is great on Sunday Mornings
Great food and atmosphere! The staff are excellent!
Went for lunch. I ordered the Thai peanut wings, which were very meaty, flavorful, and saucy with right amount of spice. My mom ordered 2 brats, both of which were flavorful and tasty, plus lots of food. We each ordered flights, so we could each try 4 of their in house brewed beers. All were tasty. They have coffee stouts, IPAs, golden ales, browns... many options. The servers were very friendly and helpful. More...
This place is the WURST. The absolute WURST!! It was great. Everyone should go.
Excellent food, fairly large portions, homely ambiance, tasty beers.... this place is a wonderful unassuming joint to hang after a long day at work. The staff was very friendly!
Just picked up a to-go order that I ordered online. The online ordering was seamless. The food was PHENOMENAL. Looks like a fun place to come in dine-in as well! 5 stars from me!
Love the food and the staff is the best! Makes you feel like you are hanging out with a big group of friends! And they are so sweet to our kids too! One of our favorite places in town! More...
This place is relatively new and a bit hard to spot, but it's a fabulous addition to the IC culinary scene. The menu is a bit limited but the half pound breakfast platter is absolutely delicious. There are plenty of TVs, so it's a great place for brunch on a Saturday during football season. The service is exceptional--our waitress was attentive and very engaging. More...
Yummy food, great service and hipster vibe. Can't go wrong. I really enjoyed their Italian Wurst, dipped in savory bone broth (tastes like a nice thick gravy). I also really enjoyed their chips with onion dip. The chips were not too hard or overly salty - they were just right and the dip made it a great side and gave it some freshness. I will definitely come back here again to try out more of their wursts. Brunch looks like a great option with all the sausage, eggs, bacon and french toast. Mmm- will soon be back for more! More...
Awesome place to visit. I stop in often and love it more and more every time!! Staff is amazing, such a joy to visit with. I know when I am having a rough day I can stop in and it will immediately get better. Oh yeah and the food and beer, off the charts!! Everything made in house, fresh and yummy!! More...
They catered our education committee today and it was wonderful!
Great atmosphere and great prices! Staff was really nice and helpful as well.
First time here and was made to feel like a member of the family. Good food and good beer. Sausages were excellent.
Great place! Service is excellent: prompt, friendly, and helpful. The Bird's Toasted Brown beer is a wonderful brown ale, and my hubby liked his Zero Day IPA. We had the Guild Supper and the Breakfast in Bed Supper. Both were huge portions and super tasty. We will be back. More...
This place was so cute with a townie vibe it exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend coming here for beer and bratwursts. Not a spot if you on a vegan diet juice cleanse. Ambiance: a hip converted car shop! They have miscellaneous photos over the walls, a large projector and a couple TVs. Food: JERK WURST. So crispy and the sweetness of the pineapple added great flavor. The breakfast wurst with egg fell short of the flavorful jerk wurst. Try the pick two appetizer if you want to sample a couple half wursts. The guild supper was also great with bone sauce and honey biscuit. The squash in the bone sauce was amazzzing. Drink: we did the flight to try all the beers they brew in house. They have a great variety of beers from pale ales, wheat, stouts, and IPAs. I loved the creamy Belgian and the coffee stout which had hints of java house coffee beans. Service: we sat at the bar and the ladies were attentive and answered our questions! They also changed the tv to the channel we wanted. More...
Great service. Beer and appetizers were great also. Try the pretzel bits with beer cheese sauce.
I thought this place would be crappy because the exterior left me a bit wanting but the food was awesome! Solid portions and everything cooked well with great flavors. We left feeling really full after sharing one of the larger entrees. Their kettle chips are also amazing. Craving some more...will definitely go back to try their other stuff. More...
Jim Gaffigan once said, "When I was dating my future wife, I once found myself comparing her to a bratwurst. It was then that I realized how serious I was about her. "That sentiment never made sense to me, I'm typically into a brat only because of its kraut... until I met Guild Wurst Tavern. BECAUSE their bratwursts are not the worst. (Ok, I couldn't help that one.)Let me rewind. They didn't always have my heart. Our first encounter included a flight of their brews on a cold winter's Saturday night. I left with no intention of a call back, if you know what I mean. My favorite was the Zero Day IPA, followed by the Chocolate Stout while the others were just 'eh. The service was also a bit lackluster but it was busy and my crew was only having some brews. It's a repurposed auto repair shop-- and it looks like it. It's not shabby chic really or super industrial-- it just is recycled. It looks like Menard's donated all of its old lighting samples and there's a hodge podge of different local art (which is for sale) lining the walls. There's cinderblocks and garage doors. All of the glasses, plates and silverware don't match. But... it works. I think it bothered me at first but, it has worn on me. It's kind of charming, local and screams 'labor of love.' Plus definitely lends well to a small batch brewery and the equipment that requires. There's plenty of seating ranging from bar to booth to shared high top. The parking is plentiful and it's a stones throw from Carver Hawkeye Arena. My second meet-up was out of necessity, not desire. It was literally the only place open before an early basketball game on a Saturday morning. But OH-EM-GEE. Oh guys, their food! The menu features six globally inspired ground and stuffed daily, 1/3 pound bratwursts. They are the star. It was everything a half German girl obsessed with all things wurst dreams of. I inhaled my breakfast wurst, topped with caramelized onions and an egg. It was served with both delicious homemade chips and I'm going to go ahead and say it; the BEST french fries on the strip. The service was delightful and diligent.I'm ashamed I judged this book by its cover. But, I have since wised up. The 'guild' associated with this joint seems passionate and are doing things right-- it can only get better. I love this establishment's approach and I, like Jim Gaffigan, now compare all things good in my life to a wurst... but from this tavern.PS- I heard they have done some Brat'chos featuring their homemade chips, beer cheese, wurst, grilled sweet peppers and topped with sauerkraut. *Drool* More...
I would say one of the best breweries I have been to in the Coralville/Iowa City area. The inside is really interesting decorations and Wooden barn style roof. I really like the in-house small brewery atmosphere they have there and the beer is incredible! I highly recommend the wheat beer! More...
The food is above and beyond what you'd expect from a tavern and the beer is a refreshing experience. I also like the smaller tavern feel to the environment; it's an excellent change from the sports bars which seem to have taken over the area and I didn't feel that it's over the top hipster either. Pricing is a little expensive but understand you're getting what you pay for; I'm a big eater, I I was barely able to finish my supper. Lastly, I highly recommend to get a beer flight (4 different beers) to get a feel for their flavors; it's well worth it. More...
I love this place! My husband and I had pretzel bites for an app and they were so good! Hot, crispy, and with a delicious beer cheese dipping sauce. We shared the Guild Supper which was phenomenal. It started with the soup of the day which was PorkMato (tomato soup with a bit of pork). This was seriously the best tomato soup I've ever eaten. Thick, creamy, and just enough heat. The meal itself was also delicious - more than enough for two people. We will definitely go back! More...
So I said very clearly that I would judge this burger as fairly as possible, as I am such a burger snob.
Cheers to the folks who brought us the Ba'rber Shop being back, in force! I finally had the chance to try Guild Wurst, and I can't wait to hangin' here and making my way through their beer menu while listening to some unique live music. I tried their wheat beer - pretty good - along with their Jerk Sausage and a side of chips and cottage onion dip. The table also split an order of pretzel bites with beer cheese to start. Really liked the flavors of the Jerk Sausage (topped with sweet peppers and pineapple). You can tell the chips are made in house, and they're a great compliment to the onion dip - though the ratio of chips to dip could be evened out a bit for even greater enjoyment. The pretzel bites and beer cheese were tops, and it was definitely a generous serving of pretzels for the price. Next time, I think I'll try a sausage sample along with some of their other sides in order to try a few more things other Yelpers are raving about. The service was great and our waitress made excellent recommendations. Enjoy your visit! More...
I haven't had the food here, so this review is only for the beer from the attached Boot 'n Flute brewery. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that there was a new brewery in Iowa City/Coralville. Honestly, I went here with relatively low expectations and was impressed by all the beers on their menu (I tried all of them). My personal favorites were the Brown Ale and the Crisp Wheat.I imagine its tough competition starting as a small brewery within a mile radius of a few others (Reunion, Backpocket, Big Grove). Frankly, the beer here is remarkably better than other breweries in Iowa City. While I enjoy going to Big Grove and Reunion (I think Backpocket beer is trash other than the dunkel), I have found a new favorite. They all had significantly more character than other brewery's beers in the area. If you are on the fence about coming here, you should definitely swing by, especially if you are a craft beer fan. I really liked it. Very flavorful cheeseburger and fries!!
We loved this place! We first started with the candied nuts that they make and although it's a small portion for a full table, they are sooooo good. We had to order a second round! For our meals we all had various versions of their bratwurst and they were amazing! They wrap your bratwurst and it comes out piping hot which is wonderful. The staff there is just as amazing as the food and the ambiance is laid back and friendly. It's kid friendly as well. We will be back! More...

Went for the first time on a weekday in between lunch and dinner. Service was quick and friendly. Got the guild wurst (minus sauerkraut) with chips and honey biscuit and the inaugural brew. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be back to try other menu options and future brews! More...
Great brats, decent local beer selection and loved the beans but whatever you do order chips with a side of gravy.
Damn good sausage! This should be enough said but I need to hit a character limit. Great new addition to the Iowa City area that hopefully will not be ignored because of their location on the strip. Wife, a friend and I stopped by for the first time tonight. Had pretzel bites with amazing beer cheese dip. Very yummy. All of us went with the traditional German sausage and were left amazingly pleased by its girth, length, and juiciness. It had a nice spicy kick to it too. Toppings for it were great and the sides were wonderful too! More...

Stopped in for breakfast Sunday morning and we were not disappointed. So good and left extremely full. The wurst is amazing and the coffee cake is a definite MUST! Staff was great. Love this place and we will be back again More...
What a wonderful treat to come across right here in Coralville. It's charming from the moment you walk in with the super friendly staff, and the fact it's a converted muffler shop that gives it a unique vibe. Everyone that works there had a smile on their face and more than happy to tell you about the menu and all of their favorite items. We started off with the Cottage Onion Dip with fresh chips, this was a wonderful item with great flavor. Everyone at the table ordered different items so we could share a little here and there. I myself went with the Guild Supper, this had so many parts to it I couldn't wait to dig in. I had a 1/3 lb Guildwurst, German potatoes, grilled squash that was out of this world, and the honey biscuits made me cry out "Holy yummy biscuits Batman". There were other parts to my plate but these were my favorite parts. We ended with the Banana bread pudding with caramel sauce, which trust me taste as good as it sounds. I love that they make so much of the food in house, from making the sausage, bread, James beans, to the biscuits and all the deserts. Truly while you sit there and drink water from a glass that could have come from your grandparents, and on mismatched plates. This place just makes you feel like you found a long lost relative who has invited you over for dinner, and a good conversation. I can't wait to go back and try much more of what they have to offer. Great food and service! I would recommend it to anyone! Go check them out !
Love the atmosphere of this place. First visit was for happy hour on a Thursday and had a great local beer (Arms Race - Big Grove) and the pretzel bites. Second time was brunch after a football game and had a huge Bloody Mary and a delicious breakfast brat. Menu is limited, but what they do have they do well. Not really a great place for kids, but otherwise fabulous. Definitely recommend. More...
Delish! Enjoyed dinner, came back for an excellent brunch.
I had driven past this place a few times after it had opened we stumbled on it one Saturday looking for a place to watch the game and immediately fell in love with the decor. Very intimate and modern with a paradoxically traditional feel of a brewpub. The staff was very engaging and I found myself sitting next to the owner who made it a point to make us feel welcome. Thoughtful beer curation with a menu interesting enough to warrant repeat visits. Local artwork for sale hung on every wall and I ended up walking away with a great portrait of Bill Murray. While not haute cuisine, the textures and flavor of the house made sausages will keep us coming back. More...
Great bar food, good beer selection. Servers were fast and helpful for lunch. No kids menu if that's important to you, not a ton of seating if you've got a large party but I'll definitely be back!
Love this place! Atmosphere, staff, food was all amazing! We had onion rings (sriracha mayo was soooo good), tomato brisket soup, the matador and chocolate cake for dessert. Go there!!!
Nice decor and atmosphere. Good beer selection. The brats were imaginative and tasty. Recommended.
The beers on tap were outstanding! The food was great!! And the staff members we met were the best!!!
Awesome sequel to the Barb'r Shop. Great wurst, and a diverse menu.
I've eaten here twice. First time eating the GuildWurst which was pretty good, and the second the guild burger burger. It's worth coming in and sampling. Clean, nice atmosphere and very attentive staff. On the Coralville strip easy to find. More...
Loved this place! Great bratwurst and apps! Fun environment and cool atmosphere. Lots of different types of Brats on the menu and homemade dips.
Come here for the first time on the first game day. Like the atmosphere. Feels like nice little sport bar. Order Guild wurst. The food comes out piping hot. The bratwurst has a hint of cumin. Service is great. All artworks are from local artists and they are for sale (10% is going to charity). Love it! More...
Cool atmosphere and friendly, engaged staff. We will come back.
My first visit to Guild was for lunch. This restaurant and bar was opened by the same people who previously ran the Barbershop. That restaurant was just down the street from this place but had to be torn down due to some city construction work. I think the owners must have learned a lot from their experience with the Barbershop because this establishment is a vast improvement. The interior is quite nice. There is plenty of bar seating and table seating with full service. The current tap selection is small but well curated. They are apparently going to be starting some micro brews as well, but these will not be available for at least 6 months. The food on my first visit was great. I ordered the Spanish chorizo with onions and peppers. All of the sausages are house made, and it shows. The potato chips on the side are some of the best chips I have ever had. You can literally taste that they use high quality oil to fry them, and they were expertly seasoned.I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu. This is an excellent addition to the Iowa City area dining scene. More...
Just had lunch there today and it was very good! Great atmosphere and amazing food! We will be back
They have a solid menu and they do it well. I had the Guildwurst with all the toppings. The chips were made in-house. They were crisp, thicker than your average chip and delicious. The crown jewel of the meal was the grilled squash though. I wasn't impressed when I saw them but when you bite into it, it's amazing. I don't know how they packed in so much flavor in it but I'd go back just for that.I don't have any complaints other than the up-charge for the dipping sauces but I'd rather pay a little more and know that I'll get my sauce. You know how it is at some places with 'complimentary' sauce, you either don't get it or it's an ordeal. More...
Having recently opened, there are some rough edges, yet, but overall pleasant experience. Italian sausage is good. Don't miss the chip dip. Service was friendly, but could use a bit of polish. Nothing worth mentioning, just a little awkwardness of getting going, I assume. More...
This place is a decent place for homemade/housemade brats!! A cute little restaurant that is fighting to gain traction in Iowa City/Coralville. But this place is worth a try! The burger fell short, despite it being tasty. It was smaller than anticipated. But the bratwursts were delicious! I was disappointed in the beans. Cinnamon in beans? Not my favorite. The flavor didn't mesh well. But the chips were tasty! The beer was cold and oh so good. Try the guildwurst and the jerk bratwurst. Also, music was p o p p i n. I was a big fan of the tunes. Cute inside and friendly service! Water rating: 6/10 Iowa City let's step up our game. More...
I love a unique, below-the-radar joint. I ordered the GuildWurst sausage. Darn best brat I've ever had. Husband ordered the chorizo sausage. It was awesome too. They stuff the sausages in house and it's not a one size fits all sausage with different toppings. Oh no. The sausages are uniquely seasoned to compliment the toppings. House made chips! Buttermilk biscuit with honey and butter. The biscuit is reason enough to go back. I didn't leave room for the homemade desserts. I won't make that mistake again. This place knows the art of seasoning and quality ingredients. Guild Wurst Tavern is officially in my go-to rotation. Bravo! More...
There is no beating experience; the ability to navigate the ebbs and flows of human nature. Master that, everything else falls into place such as finances, predicting the harsh winter or the perilously dry summer. Being ahead of the curve is why people seek my advice on things I even know nothing about. Such is the burden of good, common sense combined with uncommonly good taste. Take my word for it. This is the best food in town. The wurst are the best and the burger has taken the top spot in town. You will not regret visiting The Guild. More...

Stopped by tonight to check out this new restaurant. Had a solid bratwurst and some awesome beans and chips. The server mentioned they will be brewing their own beer shortly which is exciting. Looking forward to coming back.

Great food...nice staff...excellent exceptional onion rings and burger. Cow & pig burger with cheese + bacon rules for me...
I LOVE this place! Easily the best breakfasts in the area. I haven't had the opportunity to check out the dinners yet but intend to very soon. If the dinners are even half as good as the breakfasts it'll be well worth it. More...

Awesome place! Best boneless wings! Good music and drinks! And great customer service! We will be back!
My biggest complaint when moving to Iowa City was the weather and the restaurants. Well it took six years but it was worth the wait! The Bar'ber Shop has the best drinks and food and atmosphere around! Five + stars for sure!!!! More...
