I've been at GZFS for 10 yrs. I went in as a kid that wanted to protect his family. Also to become something great. Now I know no matter what I will keep them safe. . When I was 15 - 16 I would never back away from a fight.. Always in street fights had to prove I was tuff lol. Now I laugh because its not worth it unless its in the ring.. Ground Zero Fighting Systems is another home to me and by far the greatest gym.. If you are looking to become a better version of yourself or wanting to protect the ones you love too then come join this amazing school and family it will change your life as well. I guarantee it.. I have been training at GZFS for the last 1.5 years of my 3 years total. I trained prior at Ground Zero in Bridgeport, an affiliate gym. I highly recommend both gyms if you are in Bridgeport or Morgantown. Great atmosphere to learn and train, all the coaches have your best interest in mind and are always willing to help you. Thankful to have found such a great gym. More...

Coming from California I didn't expect much. However I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of high level instruction available during classes, the skill and knowledge level of the students and instructors, as well as the friendly, laid back environment. You won't find a better place to train in the Morgantown WV area! More...

I have been training muay thai here going on 5 months now, and I have to say it's been a great experience. When I first came here it was a little intimidating, but then as i was participating in the class all of the experienced guys were trying to help me, with that and having such a great technical instructor, I advanced in no time.

I started training here about a year ago. I didn't expect everyone to be welcoming. The people I've met through training here have been wonderful friends and helped me through the early steps of Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai in the kindest and most encouraging ways. The instructors and other students have been patient and supportive as I have tried to learn the techniques and spirit of the art. My schedule can get pretty busy and I am not always able to make it to classes, but the instructors have always been understanding. My experience here has been excellent. More...

I have trained off and on at Ground Zero, pretty much exclusively in Josh's Combatives program. Everyone I've trained with has been great and everyone I've met is there to learn and to help. While I have not joined in the BJJ training, the folks in those classes have always been friendly and accepted me as part of the GZ gym. The people arengreat, the training is great, and I recommend any of their programs without hesitation. I have a fairly extensive martial arts background and have always been very skeptical of finding good schools. GZ fits the bill and I'm glad to have found them. More...

I've been attending classes here at GZ for 3 or 4 months. From day 1, everyone was friendly and helpful. All the instructors are very skilled, knowledgeable, and more than willing to assist you with any questions. I would, and do, recommend GZ to anyone wanting to train to compete, get in shape, learn a new art, or just have a blast! I look forward to continuing my training with all the great men and women at GZ! More...

I have been training BJJ for over six years and I train weekly at Ground Zero BJJ Bridgeport. I also teach BJJ at Team Outlaw, a GZ affiliate in Fairmont. I have known the coaches at GZ Morgantown for years and know them to be very competent BJJ instructors who are always willing to share their knowledge and have never seen any egos from them. As with any gym, sometimes students do have their own egos and it comes out now and then. But I know that these coaches know how to handle that when it happens. I have always and will continue to recommend anyone who lives in or near Morgantown to train here. More...

Absolutely great gym to go to. Everyone is very patient and welcoming to new people. The more advanced belts in jiu jitsu won't just crush you on your first day to see if you come back. Everyone actively works to improve the technique of each individual. If you would like to train up for an MMA fight then the members of the gym and instructors will move heaven and earth to make sure you're prepared. Great instructors and members. This has a good atmosphere to learn no matter your skill level. More...

My 8 year old son has been attending the Kids Jeet Koon Do class for several months and in such a short time, he's gained strength, flexibility, and most importantly CONFIDENCE in his own abilities and his ability to learn new things. This self-confidence is evident at home, in the classroom, on the playground and in his free time spent with friends. Just a great program for kids from all walks and at all physical and emotional levels. More...
