About

Groove Disco is slightly different from other mobile DJ set up's. The whole company is just me, I have tens of thousands of hours experience behind the decks. I only play gigs where I will enjoy the music too, you can tell the difference between a DJ who loves the music he/she plays, and one who doesn't.

Once again Matt helped to create another great family party! Having already played my 40th last year this time around it was my dad and uncle's 70th Birthday. With a great crowd of people and even better tunes the whole evening was a huge success !
Thanks again Matt.

Matt was really responsive on email in advance and absolutely listened to my requests. And then at my party (40th) he was great: perfect mix of tunes as requested, a good feel for the audience and great equipment. For anyone who has been disappointed with a cheesy mobile disco before, I would recommend Matt to create a "club-like" experience at home. More...

This was absolutely without doubt the best wedding disco we have experienced. Choice of music was fantastic and the mixing equally so, everyone was dancing from 7-12pm. Well done Matt Carter.

Matt is the ultimate professional DJ , reliable , trustworthy and a genuinely nice guy. From start to finish his attention to detail is second to none! In the run up to our wedding we met to discuss our playlist options and instantly knew we were in safe hands. If you love your music mixed.... Then look no further, this guy can mix a tune, and some. My playlist was blended perfectly with his own unique twist that demonstrated his years on the decks.

The feedback we received from our guests was truly amazing, they simply were blown away by the music and the atmosphere created on the night, highly recommended

I got married on 4th June and needed some music for the reception. I found Matt's website online and got in touch several months previously. I was impressed by Matt swiftly getting in touch by giving me a call to discuss. Things sounded good and Matt suggested meeting up to chat music, again something I was impressed with. Matt is really professional, reliable, friendly and has a good ear for music and knows how to get people on the dance floor. I was more than happy with the service Matt offered from start to finish and we also had many compliments regarding the music (and dancing!) I was also really impressed by the personal service Matt offered. He took time to get to know us as clients and helped deliver an excellent event More...

Q&As

Watch the crowd
It sounds easy, but it takes years of experience and a limitless amount of songs floating around your head to gauge what's going to keep the party pumping. Essentially you're taking people on a musical journey, and *as a DJ you're driving the bus to Feelgoodsville!
*you can keep that quote for free!

Eclectic and diverse, I love certain genres but I'm constantly finding new (and old) songs that keep the party cooking.

I love peoples reactions, a few times a night when the hairs on the back of my neck go up, that feeling never goes away & I live for that moment!

My wife! We came back from years of working abroad together, I was DJ'ing in exotic locations and living the life, but we decided to return to South London where we bought a house (you know, to be sensible). When we first got back I had a normal day job but I wanted to make some extra money, so I thought it'd be a good idea to sell donuts to make some extra cash, I was looking at buying an old ambulance and converting it into a mobile donut parlour. I was still DJ'ing in clubs and bars around London and of course I wanted to keep DJ'ing. My wife suggested after a few wines one night (whilst I was looking for old ambulances and donut machines on Ebay) "why don't you try mobile DJ'ing?" the penny dropped immediately! I swapped ambulances and donut machines for speakers and decks. From that moment it's been a roller coaster - mostly the fun downhill bits :)

I tried to count the gigs I've played in Greece, Ibiza and the UK over the years and it has to be well over 2500. Since I started DJ'ing back in 1998 at friends parties I have a knack of reading the crowd. Essentially; I know what song you want to hear without you asking for it.
As far as my reputation is concerned, it goes without saying, those 2500+ gigs I've never cancelled or been late once!
