Groove Disco is slightly different from other mobile DJ set up's. The whole company is just me, I have tens of thousands of hours experience behind the decks. I only play gigs where I will enjoy the music too, you can tell the difference between a DJ who loves the music he/she plays, and one who doesn't.
I Started my own DJ company (Groove Disco) in 2013 after returning from my fifth season in Ibiza, since then it's been growing from strength to strength! Most of my work comes via word of mouth and now I only play gigs where the music is to both the clients and my own taste. That way we both have a great night!

Groove Disco Q&A
What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Watch the crowd
It sounds easy, but it takes years of experience and a limitless amount of songs floating around your head to gauge what's going to keep the party pumping. Essentially you're taking people on a musical journey, and *as a DJ you're driving the bus to Feelgoodsville!
*you can keep that quote for free!
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Eclectic and diverse, I love certain genres but I'm constantly finding new (and old) songs that keep the party cooking.
What do you love most about your job?
I love peoples reactions, a few times a night when the hairs on the back of my neck go up, that feeling never goes away & I live for that moment!
What inspired you to start your own business?
My wife! We came back from years of working abroad together, I was DJ'ing in exotic locations and living the life, but we decided to return to South London where we bought a house (you know, to be sensible). When we first got back I had a normal day job but I wanted to make some extra money, so I thought it'd be a good idea to sell donuts to make some extra cash, I was looking at buying an old ambulance and converting it into a mobile donut parlour. I was still DJ'ing in clubs and bars around London and of course I wanted to keep DJ'ing. My wife suggested after a few wines one night (whilst I was looking for old ambulances and donut machines on Ebay) "why don't you try mobile DJ'ing?" the penny dropped immediately! I swapped ambulances and donut machines for speakers and decks. From that moment it's been a roller coaster - mostly the fun downhill bits :)
Why should our clients choose you?
I tried to count the gigs I've played in Greece, Ibiza and the UK over the years and it has to be well over 2500. Since I started DJ'ing back in 1998 at friends parties I have a knack of reading the crowd. Essentially; I know what song you want to hear without you asking for it.
As far as my reputation is concerned, it goes without saying, those 2500+ gigs I've never cancelled or been late once!
Sinners - Faliraki
From May 2001 to October 2003.
mix of party tunes & house This is where I really learned my skills as a DJ, it was a steep learning curve as it was one of the busiest clubs in town and there was no room for mistakes! I still swear that's the best way to learn.
Liquid - Faliraki
From April 2004 to October 2006.
From April 2007 to October 2007.
Literally anything goes in this place! We always started the night with karaoke and who knew what would happen by the end of the night! I mixed Frank Sinatra into drum & bass once :0

Funky Flares - Ibiza

Playing a mix of 60's to 90's party tunes, a good fun venue with a great vibe.

Playing laid back beach house over 4 gigs over 2 summers at Carl Cox's legendary beach bar
From March 2013 to present.
So I started my own mobile DJ business. After 2500+ gigs mainly in Faliraki and Ibiza, however I've played in other countries including Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Israel, Cyprus & Zante. I decided that my years of experience could play a part in my new 'grown up life' back in Old Blighty. I could offer something that not all mobile DJ's can - which is thousands of hours behind the decks and experience beyond the norm.
