We had our dog trained with Kelly at Green Dog. It is obvious Kelly cares so much about the dogs she works with. Not only was our dog well cared for, but whenever he went to board there afterwards, he was so excited to see Kelly! Highly recommended!

My dog Paddington was trained here and we use Green Dog for boarding. Paddington is always so happy to see Carl and Kelly. This really gives me peace of mind when we go out of town. Awesome place for dog training. Kelly and Karl personally trained 2 of my Chihuahuas. The result, the two sweet, energetic love puffs, (Chihuahuas) were easier to handle. I got my mom a boxer puppy and tried a couple of different training methods and places to no good end . My vet recommended Green Dog training so I contacted them and took a look at the facility . The dogs were well cared for and the boarding area was clean and cooled or heated as need be so I signed up my moms boxer . I took a fun loving little maniac and got a well behaved fun loving gentleman in return . I've left this same review on Google but know some folks only rely on Yelp. We have a rescue who has gotten progressively more fearful and aggressive as he's gotten older despite being in a loving home.  We did Green Dog's 3 week "board and train" program at the recommendation of the animal behaviorist we work with.  Kelly was kind and very knowledgeable, first evaluating him in person then suggesting an overnight weekend before making a  commitment to do the program.  She felt she could help him so we did the program and ended up needing to leave him there an extra week due to a family emergency.  When we got him back he was much calmer, and much more tolerant of strangers and other dogs. I could tell he was well treated because he ran between Kelly and me when seeing me the first time, checking in with both of us to let us know how happy he was.  As Kelly warned, he's not "fixed" but she showed us some of the things we were doing that were reinforcing his fears (such as trying to soothe him vs just being calm and assertive) and he's a much happier dog. As an update to this review, I'll add that while I live inside the loop in Houston, I still bring my dog all the way up there to board him when we are going to be out of town. I have tried to board him elsewhere that's closer, but when I picked him up he looks fearful and they say he hasn't eaten much. Every time I have left him with Kelly, I can see that he's happy and healthy. One of those times, Kelly brought a little dog out with him whom he had been playing with and getting along well. I found out that they had rescued this other dog off the side of the road and were fostering him. When I asked if they would consider letting us adopt him, Kelly said she was actually thinking of adopting him herself. We did end up adopting him and both our other dog and the humans in the house couldn't love him more. More...

If you need a place to board your dogs this is my choice.  Out in the country on a quiet gorgeous piece of land they are small so avoid the chaos of most boarding facilities.  I have also had my dog trained there and it was a very positive experience. More...

Kelly at Green Dog training is amazing! I am a disabled firefighter with PTSD and Green Dog helped me train Harley as an ESA Support K-9. Even as a young dog Harley came back from training knowing all her commands. And Kelly is great to work with - very flexible and really cares about her clients and the dogs. Renny who is now my 4 year old sweet and beautiful Rottweiler, used to be one BIG problem! Renny used to be scared of everything including her own shadow! By the time she was 3 years old the problem had gotten so bad that she refused to come out from under the backyard patio to do her business in the grass. As an 80 pound dog this was a huge problem for us. My husband and I were unable to take her anywhere outside of the house and she was so miserable being scared that It just broke my heart. I looked around for some help and lucky for me I came across Kelly Green who is the owner and trainer of Green Dog Training. She took the time to talk to me about the issues and then set up a consultation. When I brought Renny to the consultation she was very scared but they were great with her. Kelly and Carl spent a considerable amount of time with her evaluation that day and determined that Renny could be helped. I enrolled Renny immediately for The 3 Week Board & Train program and I could not believe the transformation in her personality when I picked her up. It has been a year since Renny’s training and things are so much better for her and our family. She is much happier now and we are comfortably able to take her on car rides to places outside of the house. I have taken Renny back a few times over the past year for boarding and they offer a refresher training for her while she is there. I think this has been very beneficial because she responds to her commands perfect each time and has so much confidence now. The change has truly been a blessing for her and us! They even agreed to board my 12 year old jack Russell at the same time when we bring Renny to them for boarding. My Jack Russell is a bit of a handful but they always take great care of him. When I pick up the dogs they are happy, healthy and really clean (you should try having them bathe your dogs because they smell so good you won’t believe it). I was shocked when I read a review from someone named Cheryl. I have taken my dog Bella there on numerous occasions and I try to keep in mind that when Kelly, the trainer is with another client that it is my responsibility to be respectful of that persons time with her. The people at Green Dog Training are pros. All of the team members at Green Dog are always courteous and their main concern is my dog, her needs, her habits that need work on. These people go out of their way to provide what the dog owner is asking them to be done. I always leave knowing I made the right choice for my pet and knowing the kennel is monitored 24 hrs a day gives me a peace of mind. There are times that I have had to call back and ask a question and my calls are always handled to my satisfaction. I have never felt like I did not get my money's worth, that is why they have such a repeat clientele.How could a pet owner take their dog to any facility and have them administer worm medicine to their pet and not expect the dog to lose weight? I've been a customer of Green Dog Kennels for about 13 1/2 years. I first took my dog Spirit, a half border collie and Lab mix to Green Dog after rescuing her on the street. I found out about Green Dog through my vet and he highly recommended there services because of their many years of service in the dog industry. I have witnessed their character not only in the way they treat their animals but also how they treat their customers. They are very welcoming and as soon as you open the door, they immediately attend to your dog, playing with them, talking to them, giving them treats to make your dog comfortable and not afraid. I have also had my dog trained by them and, I found the training to be very effective. My dog was about 6 months old and when I picked her up, I was amazed on how well she listened to all her commands. Spirit went on to Doggy heaven and Kelly and Carl knew I was looking for another dog. Last year they found a rescue dog that they took in. They called us and matched us up with a beautiful 72 pound mixed breed, he was already trained but we felt we wanted more training to meet our particular needs. Every time my dog stays there he comes back so happy, sometimes I think he doesn't want to come home. I use to own a kennel and I'm very particular on where I kennel my dogs. I have used Green Dog Training for both of my rescue dogs with wonderful results. I have also used the boarding and grooming services. I have been taking my dogs to Green Dog Training for 14 years. In fact, when I pull up with my Chihuahua for boarding, he knows where he is and starts getting so excited before we even get out of the car. The training my dogs received at Green Dog was very helpful. I had two rescue Chihuahuas and one was a very nervous little dog that had been abandoned and had trust issues. After the training, he did much better and was house broken. Today when I take the little guy in, he is so excited to see the trainers. This tells me that he is very happy with them. Kelly is an excellent trainer for my dog and for me. She was very patient and she has a very calm demeanor. She paid special attention to my dog's specific needs and what he needed to work on, and we had a wonderful experience.
