I used to be so stressed to go for outside with my new puppy and let her off the lead, but now I’m more confident and we are enjoying our walks together! It only took a session for me to realise what I was doing wrong. I’m hoping I won’t have any issues with my dog in the future but if I will I’m contacting Angela straight away! Worth any money!
Thank you Angela

After comparing a few dog training classes online, we discovered Greatest K9 - Angela's Puppy classes through "Bark" . My daughter and I took our non stop growing Lab cross - Eddie - to puppy classes, then after a little more growing had been done we attended the adult classes. Eddie has thrived in all of these classes. Angela maintained a calm, fun, and controlled atmosphere and environment for the dogs (and owners) to learn key communication skills. I'd recommend that anyone who has a new puppy or dog to attend Angela's classes as it has really helped deepen our communication and bond with Eddie. Should we have any issues with Eddie as he matures I won't hesitate to contact Angela. I just wish there were more classes...We miss them! More...

We came across Greatest K9 after signing up to Angela's 6-week puppy class. Our Rescue Dog Mabel learnt all aspects of training. From walking nicely on a lead, Sit, down, wait... The list goes on. Further to completing the course, we had a nice long break before signing up to the 6-week Adult class. Mabel is a much calmer, more focused dog now. Who you can see, has really enjoyed all the training. - Me included!Me and My partner would defiantly recommend using Angela's services. Her understanding and knowledge have proved vital for us. Brilliant! Our greyhound Rocky had been freezing outside our house for maximum 2 hours at a time and this had been going on everyday for at least two months! We tried absolutely everything to get him to move but nothing would work! We were recommended Angela through the greyhound trust and she managed to fix this within an hours visit and now it takes no longer than a minute to get him in the house! She has also given us great advice on his toilet training. I would advise anyone who needs behaviour advice to contact Angela, she’s amazing! More...

Angela is a great trainer and is so patient with both humans and puppies! Her tips have been invaluable with training our very calm but very stubborn 5 month old Curly! It was so nice to find classes where Winston could train with other puppies and didn’t have to go to adolescent classes due to his age. We look forward to carrying on the training at home and attending adult classes in a few months time :) More...

The tools she has given us has made life abit easier with our dachshund Boo and already seeing results in a few weeks. One of the best £50s I’ve ever spent!I booked a one to one session with Angela to assist with my lovely labradoodle puppy, Hamish. The experience was fantastic from the moment I contacted her. Angela was approachable, flexible and efficient with booking a session. From the moment Angela arrived at our house it was clear that she had a wonderful touch with dogs and was very knowledgeable. In 1.5 hours we covered all my concerns from mouthing/biting, recall, jumping up, recreational barking and crate training. Angela’s techniques are based upon positive reinforcement which was important to me. I found that there was no need to repeat commands or tell Hamish to “stop”, which had previously been so demoralising for me and probably not great for Hamish either. I was able to put the techniques Angela taught me into practice straightaway and I was astounded by how effective they were, so quickly. Within 24 hours my relationship with Hamish was transformed and we have continued to build upon that ever since thanks to a Angela. I only wish I had contacted Angela sooner and recommend everyone books a one to one session with her in the early stages of having a puppy to start on the right footing. I had attended other puppy training classes (small group sessions) with Hamish before contacting Angela and I must say that not all trainers are the same and advice we were given elsewhere from Angela caused more problems than it solved. Angela also gave me a really useful puppy training guide which I read from cover to cover and still refer to - her services are great value for money. I cannot recommend this lady highly enough. Angela has such a lovely calm approach to my 7 month old Labrador. He was turning into bit of a lad, running up to other dogs and lunging on the lead. So I booked 3 sessions at home. The training Angela gave both myself and Maverick made perfect sense and was easy to bring into our daily routine. He is doing amazingly well and we are both still enjoying learning. It has made such a strong bond between us. I would most definitely use her services again and would highly recommend her. Many Thanks Angela :o) More...

I recently contacted Angela regarding my 18 week old whippet/lurcher. We where having some guarding issues and general nipping/jumping problems. I was desperate for some reassurance and guidance and Angela absolutely put me at ease, all my concerns and worries she helped with lots of information and techniques regarding training. Having someone come to your home to see your puppy and how he acts in his home environment is a god send, everything felt very relaxed. Within 24 hours and me feeling a lot more confident you can really see a difference in Lenny already, this evening he has seemed more relaxed in a room for 10 weeks he’s had literally just bounced off the walls in. I was also emailed a really detailed report that is really useful to refer back to, I’ve already recommended to my doggy friends. I’ve no doubt that we will see improvements daily with Lenny, I also feel a lot more braver since puppy behaviour was explained to me. I can’t thank you enough! Lenny also thanks you! Lots more treats for the positive behaviour which I was totally missing as I was overwhelmed in the unwanted behaviour. Thank you! More...

If you’re looking for advice and reassurance in training your dog, I highly recommend Angela. Within half an hour of my enquiry, Angela had replied with a ‘no pressure’, friendly and personalised email with full details of her services. I was able to book a consultation for the next morning where she came to my home to meet me and my puppy and spent 90 minutes with us answering any questions and giving a huge variety of tips and techniques. I wanted help specifically with crate training and Angela seemed to have a wealth of knowledge and experience in this. Angela helped me to understand the positive things I had already been doing and how to build on this and didn’t make me feel patronised at all, I felt much more empowered to get the training right. By the time she left, I felt a lot more positive and confident that my pup will be happy and confident when on her own and I have already started to see improvement. Angela also provided me with a email summary of the consultation that evening and gave me her in depth puppy training pack. Wouldn’t hesitate to call her again in the future if needed, and would definitely recommend. More...

Q&As

The biggest enjoyment is always seeing when clients suddenly connect and understand their dog. This problem they have been dealing with suddenly makes sense and is completely fixable.

Of course, I love meeting all the different dogs too!

I'm not only a dog trainer but a total canine enthusiast. My fascination with dogs started long before I was able to have my own one, bringing me to work with dogs wherever and whenever I could, as well as continuously study canine behaviour. I started dog walking and working with dogs at a young age, as an RSPCA volunteer and later on as a professional dog walker and trainer.

I am fully insured, an ADTB approved dog trainer, friendly and reliable. I am also a full member of The Dog Welfare Alliance as an accredited professional dog trainer and an associate member of the International Companion Animal Network.

I enjoy helping people create an incredible bond with their dogs and I have helped many clients understand their dogs better. Throughout my life I continue to educate myself on dogs, the industry and training and have found that by working on your relationship with your dog first, many other things fall into place and problem behaviours disappear.

One key element I find when working with dogs is that most issues can be solved or do not establish themselves if we focus on the small habits on a daily basis. Bad behaviour is often the manifestation of losing sight of the basics. You cannot truly obedience train a problem behaviour out of a dog without being their leader first and understanding your dog. In my experience, consistency of daily rituals, structure, balance and accountability along with rewarding behaviours we like, create a well balanced and sociable canine friend. The truth is, dogs really need the structure and they will love you for it.

Services

One to One dog training and behaviour consultations are an ideal way to work with your dog that may benefit from individual attention or simply to address a particular behaviour. After an initial phone/email consultation, each session is carefully structured to progress at a pace that suits both you and your dog. By observing and working with you and your dog, I can provide the knowledge and the tools required to resolve any issues.

If you have no previous dog training knowledge, one to one tuition is a great way of very quickly picking up the basics.

Consultations are considered 'coaching sessions', designed to help you understand the root causes of your dog’s behaviour. After an initial consultation, you will receive a written report with recommendations and a tailored training plan as discussed during the session.

Initial sessions vary between 1-1.5 hours, as it is essential to get information to your dog without overwhelming it. To make the most out of the initial consultation, you will be sent a Behavioural Profile form by email to complete before the session.

Understand why your dog is behaving this way
Discover how dogs think – especially your dog
Learn how to be a caring leader for your dog
Form an action plan to get the results you need

One to One sessions are held at your home, or a meeting place of your choice. Follow-up visits will be discussed at the initial consultation and are dependent on the nature of the behaviour problem.

Pricing:
Initial Consultation: £50 (1-1.5 hours, this comes with an assessment of behaviour and a detailed written report including what we discussed along with step by step training programs and exercises.)
Follow-up sessions: £40 per hour
Package Deal (save £25): £105 - 3x visits spread over 1 month (including the initial 1.5 hr session & report)

Cash payment in full is required at the time of the appointment. If you are unable to make an appointment please get in touch at least 24 hours in advance.

Puppy training starts the day you bring your puppy home. Let me show you everything you need to know about raising the perfect pup. Starting early will save you a lot of headaches in the future.

We understand how busy daily schedules can keep you from going to routine puppy classes, so we offer bespoke private puppy sessions to fit around your schedule. This is a great option to help you understand your puppy and make sure to get you started on the right path to having a friendly, sociable and obedient four-legged friend. Our Puppy training program is also beneficial to cover all the important information before you bring the puppy home.

In-home puppy training programs start with a 1.5 hour home consultation, discussing all aspects of early puppy training and to personalise training routines around your individual schedule and lifestyle. I will also provide you with a Puppy Survival Guide booklet to refer back to on any training aspects discussed during the visit. This is a great investment to ensure that you have the knowledge to avoid future problem behaviours.

I will carefully show you the main steps as well as look at your individual living situations.

Toilet training your puppy
Stop biting and mouthing
Crate training
Socialise your puppy
Off leash reliability
Home alone
Sit, Down, Stay, Come! – Basic Commands
Be a caring leader (It’s so misunderstood!)

Any following visits - £40 per hour
