Great hotel. Made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. Nice clean and very quiet room. Lovely touch was the pantry at the end of floor, with tea and coffee making facilities along with the mince pies and tea cakes. Wonderful restoration of a fine old building. The design team have done a very good job, the public areas are very stylish and our room was lovely. Although I’ve stayed around Kings Cross for business trips, I’ve never considered this area for leisure purposes - but now I’ll find it hard to stay anywhere else. What a wonderful hotel, enhanced by the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. We stayed in a Cubitt room at the end of the fourth floor, with views over St Pancras and Kings Cross (unspoiled by noise owing to faultless soundproofing). The bathroom was luxurious with standalone rolltop bath and hand-held shower.We sampled room service, the GNH bar and Anthracite, all of which were superb. The pantry at the end of each floor, for hot drinks and sweet treats, was an added bonus. Mention must be made of hotel staff who were exemplary in every way. They went over and above to ensure our stay was perfect. The location worked especially well for this visit, as we needed to be in various places directly accessible from Kings Cross. I chose to stay after reading most of the positive reviews. The negative ones didn't deter me but they helped me manage my expectations. True that the hotel rooms can small and tight. But what they lack in size they gain in style. I was upgraded to the Cubitt Rooms from the booked Couchette rooms and it was perfect. I’ve never considered staying near Kings Cross other than for business trips but decided to book into the Great Northern Hotel for a flying weekend visit as we had an early train home. From the instant we checked in, we were so well looked after - the customer service from reception to bar staff to room service was exceptional. We were made to feel like VIPs. ||Our room was on the fourth floor with views to both Kings Cross and St Pancras (and the Gherkin and Shard visible in the distance). Soundproofing was clearly very effective as we heard nothing from the busy streets outside. The room was very comfortable and a perfect base for a busy 24 hours. ||The pantry at the end of each floor is a lovely feature. There’s a variety of Nespresso coffees, as well as sugary snacks if you need a quick energy boost to help you keep going. Owing to two late nights, we used room service twice and the food was delicious.||The location was spot on. Having the tube on the doorstep meant we could easily head east to visit an exhibition and go shopping, then later get to Brixton for a gig. I recently have traveled to London around three weeks ago by train and decided to pay a visit to the restaurant of this hotel for an evening meal. I'm pleased to say that standards have not declined from my last visit here several years prior. Picked the hotel because it looked interesting and was relatively near the Heathrow Express. Just needed a place to stay for one night while in transit. The hotel is arranged a little different, in an interesting sort of way. And yes, my room was very small, but fine for one person and very nicely appointed. Also, there was a no added charge pantry just down the hall with free coffee, tea and pastries. Plus a small business center. All very nice. Staff was also very helpful in check-in. More...

Having had a disappointing stay at a local hotel I decided to transfer here for my final night and was not disappointed. Located at front of Kings Coss station I had visited their bar for lunch earlier in the week and was rather impressed with the premises. The entrance to the hotel is rather discrete and I walked around the perimeter twice to find it. The building is an excellent restoration of historic premises and looks as good internally as externally. A very sensitive refurbishment that tanforms place into understated luxury for the 21st century traveller. Staff were helpful and friendly at every interaction at the hotel. The bedrooms are on the small side but hotel will have been restricted by planning consents as this will be a listed building. However this is mitigated by the high ceilings and large sash windows. The bed is soooooo comfortable. Lovely bathroom with new but period style fittings. Excellent shower. King's Cross St. Pancras Stationそばになり、便利でした。日本のコンビニエンスストアのようなお店も駅内にありました。私が出かけた時は、King's Cross駅前広場でマーケットが開かれていて、美味しいものが売られていました。ホテルの室内はコンパクトですが、一人でしたので、狭いと感じたことはないですね。泊まった部屋の隣りにはパントリーがあり、紅茶、ケーキ、お菓子などが食べ放題？でした。ちょっと小腹が空いた時にはパントリーを利用していました（笑）。ロンドンには日本のようなコインロッカーはありません。駅には荷物預かり所がありますが料金がかかります。ホテルでは無料で預かってもらえるので、チェックアウト時にフロントで伝えれば預かってもらえます。フロントの対応もとても良く、快適に過ごすことができました。

Stayed one night at the GNR hotel between King s Cross and St Pancras having just “landed with the Eurostar”. (A) it s super convenient from a location point of view for all my meetings with the Tube||(B) i was located on 5th floor overlooking the new glassroof of King s cross and it was (2 windows) very quiet. Reception is small and cumbersome when 2 guests with bags.||||Staff was welcoming and helpful, priced at GBP340 with Breakfast, Room was large, very dark brown chocolate walls and ceilings, nice wood panelling. Brass and stainless steel appliances.||||Nice double shower, needed to tap some of the little plasticky hoses to have water running straight, (generic comment about hotels: these gets chalked up and a bit of cleaning one a while does not hurt!).||||Bed was firm and comfortable, 2 usb charging points but only by one bed side table. You don t need a PhD to operate the light switches.||||Had a drink at the bar, good buzz with guests and travellers waiting for their trains.||||Overall a better experience than staying in the west end for the same price point. When I booked this, i didn’t have the highest expectation, given that the price was good value vs other associated chain hotels and also how noisy Kings Cross generally is. I’ve taken the time to write this to help guide others. If you are staying in London for two nights and need some space and comfort, there are more astute choices especially if you are couple. If you are travelling solo, need a really nice, small, quiet but modern equipped room, this is an excellent choice. Clean, cute and well co-ordinated, this hotel benefits from great sound proofing and is central for early train travel. Notre chambre avait tout le confort, même si dans la chambre il n'y avait qu'une cafetière et pas de quoi faire un thé. I chose the Great Northern as the base for my 65th birthday celebrations without any prior knowledge. Good choice ! My family grtoup met-up in the Anthracite bar for pre-dinner cocktails. Not cheap but good service, an extensive cocktail list, speciallising in Martinis, and delicious nibbles made for a very pleasant start to the evening. We dined elsewhere having picked the restaurant first and then looked for a hotel. Our room, while not large, was very tastefully decorated and well appointed. The shutters did a great job of excluding light and noise, resulting in a fine night's sleep.The whole hotel was impeccably clean and fresh.
