My primary questions surround the unique nature of each event I'm intending to capture. No two weddings are alike, no two sports contests are alike, and no two families are alike. Given that, I ask questions designed to find out what makes you or your event unique as well as those parts that help me tell the truest story possible. While I have second shooters available upon request, I often shoot as a solo shooter. When I shoot by myself, I am aware that I obviously can't be in two places at the same time. So as to eliminate the potential for me missing a moment, I believe in planning. I'll admit readily that I've never shot an event that goes 100% according to plan, but I find that when I shoot with a purpose and a strategy, there are very few moments that I'm not able to capture! So many of my secondary questions are designed to help develop a plan for capturing the event as completely as is possible.

I love that photography is a medium for story telling. In an age of instant information, sometimes we forget the importance of being taken on a journey. Photography is a way in which we can be taken on a journey. We can relive a moment or we can even experience a special emotion. Even if the viewers were there when the photographs were captured, my ideal end result is when I can take the viewers back through the event by retelling the story of that day. There is endless potential for creativity, art form, and humanity in photography. When those elements shine through in my finished product, I feel satisfied with a job well done!

While I enjoy the creative potential of photography, I view photography through the perspective of my life experiences. I consider myself to be truly blessed. I have had some small accomplishments but I feel the bigger blessing I've been given is from the people I've been fortunate enough to have in my life. Individuals and families I've known through the years have been generous, loving, and friendly in its truest form above and beyond their reasonable call of duty. To pay it forward, I've always looked at my photography as a way to give back. If I can provide something for the people around me in a way that brings them as much joy as they have given to me, I know that my photography is headed in the right direction.

From an early age I was, thankfully, taught the meaning and desirability of hard work. With me as your photographer, you will get a hard worker who strives to meet your needs as much as possible while balancing that with the creative nature of photography. I believe in communication so I work to foster a professional relationship through dialogue that accomplishes the job but with flexibility and fun. At the end of the day, photography is about the people so, as much as depends on me, I aim to make the process centered as much as is possible on the individuals who are entrusting me with the responsibility for capturing their moments!
