Graham King, Barrister at Law

Graham King, Barrister at Law locationLancaster Gate, London W2, London

GRAHAM KING is a barrister who is regulated by the Bar Standards Board, and authorised to work directly with members of the public without a solicitor. "Direct Access" in this way is not suitable for ALL cases - but very often, it can be a much less expensive way to obtain the very best legal advice and representation without the expense of a solicitor.

Graham started off as a criminal, trial lawyer and has defended and prosecuted in courts ranging from the Magistrates to the Court of Appeal. He has dealt with cases from the relatively trivial, to the very serious. In a recent trial, he secured the acquittal of a man facing a charge of conspiring to steal some £166,000 from his employer.

Working directly with clients, graham has advised on MANY motoring matters; dealt with estate planning and wills; contractual disputes; landlord and tenant matters; debt collections and even an action against the Police for false arrest and false imprisonment.

Graham prefers to work on the FIXED COST basis: what you are quoted is what you will pay, for the service described. There is no charging by the hour, and no running up unexpected bills.

Graham King, Barrister at Law Q&A

Company Q&A

What do you love most about your job?

Getting the results for my clients that they want.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I always wanted to be a barrister. I read law at Oxford University and graduated as long ago as 1981 - but then got diverted into a career in the media and ended up running a television production and facilities business for almost twenty years. So when the time was right to get out of that, it seemed obvious that I would return to my original career path. Given my history, being self employed is nothing new to me. My business history has at least given me an understanding of what its like when all you're trying to do is run a decent business that provides a living for you, your family and those you employ - and suddenly you find yourself on the wrong side of the law: the endless environmental regulations; our bizarrely anti-business employment laws; the endless problems local councils sometimes seem determined to put in your way... and of course, I understand anyone's desire to hand on as much as they can of what they have rightfully earned, without the tax man taking too big a bite.

Why should our clients choose you?

I'm on your side. Unequivocally. (That wasn't enough for BARK - they wanted at least 50 characters. Regulations, eh?)

Client confidentiality doesn't allow me to publish any more than the bare bones of what I do: for that, see above.
