Gentry was our day of coordinator for our destination wedding and hiring her was one of the best decisions we've made!We had to plan our wedding from California without the opportunity to meet each one of our vendors beforehand, after booking everything I was so stressed out because I had no idea what was going to happen next, Gentry was so sweet & patient with us. A month before our wedding she basically took over the whole thing and confirm with all the vendors, finalize timeline/ details to bring it all together the day of the event. She made sure we enjoyed our trip to Oahu and get a chance to relax before our big day.Gentry went above and beyond with assisting us to make sure we had a stress free and fun day. She was so considerate and thoughtful throughout the whole process. Like for example, she offered us to bring our wedding decorations to the rehearsal so that we won't have to bring a bunch of stuff to the venue on our wedding day. She brought umbrellas on our wedding day because it was going to rain (and it did!) She brought Mike and I drinks while we were taking our photos so that we could stay hydrated and she did that while she was running up and down the hill making sure all our guests were well accommodated. The one thing that I will never forget was that one of our guests' car battery died that night and she didn't hesitate to call her friend to come over and help jump start the car. Can you imagine that?! I can go on and on... so brides and grooms, don't search any longer! book GEH now BUT make sure to ask for Gentry! We are so grateful for everything she did for us. I had the pleasure of working with Gentry and her staff from Gourmet Events Hawaii in planning our organizations Inaugural Jubilee.  Gentry is such a professional at the work she does and an absolute joy to work with. Her staff did a remarkable job making sure our guests were taken cared of in a very professional manner. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Gentry and the entire staff of GEH! Jacki and her staff at GEH is absolutely AMAZING! First off, when we inquired with her it was only about 2 weeks prior to our huge event. Jacki made sure to fit us into her busy schedule right away without hesitation. At our meeting, as we explained our expectations, Jacki reassured us that no matter how big or small of a task, her team would have no issues with delivering. The day of our event, Jacki dropped by the venue to introduce her staff. The entire team was dressed to impress and ready to get to work. As soon as tasks were delegated, everyone set out to do as they were told. Throughout the night, the servers would check in with us always anticipating their next tasks. There were a few hiccups and last minute requests that came up, but every situation was handled very calmly and professionally. It was a really tough gig but no one complained. I am happy to report that every server was hardworking and very easy to work with. Not only were we grateful for the GEH team, but the guests were satisfied with their service as well. Highly recommend this company! We hired Gourmet Events Hawaii for our destination wedding last minute (week of the wedding, eek! ). They were so quick to respond to our inquiry, were very accommodating, and were so easy to work with. Within one day we were able to get pricing, a signed contract, and were all set up. On behalf of myself and my husband we want to say thank you to you and your excellent staff.   They were 100% courteous, helpful, respectful, wonderful and just awesome! They made our wedding day just fantastic and I can not say how much we loved having them there.   There are not enough words to express how much we loved every single one of your staff. I had worked with Gourmet Events Hawaii since Spring 2013 (married April 2014), although I had two different coordinators (I believe one left the company), they were able to give me the PERFECT wedding. Let me emphasize the PERFECT :)

Kayla from Gourmet Events Hawaii went above and beyond her duties to give me the best wedding day. We worked side by side for well over 7 months (I'm very picky and always change my mind), she always had an upbeat attitude and answered all of my questions.

The day of the wedding she was at my venue at 9 am and didn't leave until all of the vendors had left (11 pm). She kept everything on schedule, and worked with multiple vendors to ensure everything was setup properly, this included (MC, music, photobooth, officiant, rentals, food, drinks, waitresses, bartender, etc).

I highly recommend Gourmet Events Hawaii and especially Kayla Dunn. Oh, and the food was AMAZING! Thanks Chef Will!

The caterer for our wedding contracted with GEH to provide the servers and bartenders. All I can say about the GEH staff is AMAZING! !!! They were attentive, extremely kind, and definitely surprised us all with the amazing service; every single GEH staff person went above and beyond from beginning (welcome table and cocktail hour) to end (cleanup). There are so many examples of how great GEH was and to detail them would make this review too long (like having one server teach my husband's non-dancing family how to fold napkin cranes)!!! Our wedding day was absolutely stress free and beautiful thanks to our wonderful event coordinator, Kayleigh, from Gourment Events Hawaii. I was a bride from California who was planning a destination wedding in Hawaii and having Gourmet Events Hawaii was a huge help! A couple weeks before the wedding our coordinator contacted all of our vendors, made a detailed timeline, scheduled a rehearsal, and made sure we were all squared away for the big day. I had some DIY things I had prepared in addition to some aspects I had the florist and friends bringing in and it was no problem. Kayleigh was dedicated, organized, and very well prepared starting from looking at the big picture to the tiniest details of our special day. The equipment we rented from GEH was all set up and delivered in a timely matter and everything ran smoothly. My wife and i had the tremendous pleasure of working with Jamiee throughout the most important event of our lives so far. Jamiee seemed to understand how much it meant for us and maintained her steadfast composure throughout all the planning and even as the event unfolded . At times working even after gourmet events had already closed. The food was exquisite and bold with flavor, just as I had imagined it would be. As far as I could tell every staff member that worked for gourmet events was extremely kind and sincere, which allowed the reception to be as successful as it was. We hired GEH for our wedding in March 2016. They did a GREAT job! Chef Nao makes some amazing dishes. Our guests loved the food! The serving staff were fantastic. We had a buffet dinner, which was organized beautifully by the staff. Our guests commented on how well-organized they were. They never had to wait to eat (200 guests, one buffet line, 14 tables). My regret is that I didn't get to eat and enjoy the service that our guests did! (Too busy running around). It was wonderful hearing from guests after the wedding how perfectly timed and put-together out catering service was. Gourmet Events was absolutely fantastic to work with for planning our wedding! We initially started working with Xascha, but we were informed that her position within the company was shifting, so our new planner was Kayleigh. We were excited though that Xascha was still going to be apart of our special day, just in a different role. Kayleigh was so on top of every detail. It was so worth it to pay to work closely with her and the vendors. She recommended all the vendors for us, and nearly every person she recommended we loved instantly. Gourmet set up our food tasting, which was also a fantastic experience. Once we decided on vendors, Kayleigh took care of everything from that point on. I was not worried for one second that something wouldn't go flawlessly on the wedding day. The day of the wedding, the staff were beyond exceptional. It started to rain a bit when my dad was giving his speech, and I kid you not, one of the GEH staff members (whom I'm blanking on the name right now!!!) stood with an umbrella over my dad's head while she got soaked so he could give his speech. It was the best customer service experience I've ever had in my life. The other staff members used towels to dry the dance floor quickly once the rain stopped. I highly recommend using GEH to anyone getting married here in Hawaii. I'm local to the island- but I'm sure the experience would be just as great if you don't live here! Thanks GEH! More...

Choosing to trust the execution of my wedding reception with Gourmet Events Hawaii was honestly one of the best decisions I made for me wedding, 2nd to choosing the man I married, of course:).  Xascha was an excellent planner and didn't fall short at any level - She made sure our wedding was exactly how we were envisioning it in our heads.  She was an amazing communicator and put my mind at ease on SO MANY levels, as we inched closer to the big day.  The menu was BETTER THAN amazing (and I felt almost annoying at how specific I wanted the menu variety to be), and the service was absolutely superb.  My father in law, who works in hospitality, made several comments about the level of service we were getting throughout the evening.  Thank you again to Xascha, Paul and their entire team for a flawless execution of our dream Hawaiian wedding.  We look forward to hiring you again someday, when we come back to celebrate 10 years.  Mahalo!  - Jen & Joel (August 26, 2015) More...

GEH planned and coordinated our wedding in March this year. Their planning was comprehensive and enthusiastic, their execution was flawless and their staff were professional and "got it". We had a bunch of guests comment on the high quality of the event managers and service staff. What can I say, I simply love working events that Gourmet Events Hawaii is hosting!  They are true professionals in every sense of the word and they will not hesitate to go the extra mile for you to make sure everything (and I mean everything) is taken care of.  You can tell that they all really care about what they do and their passion shows in their quality of work.  As a mobile DJ, I get to see everything that goes on behind the scenes at all kinds of parties.  From the the good to the bad and everything in between, I've seen it all.  Needless to say, they make my job incredibly easy and provide me with everything I could possibly need.  Not only that, they're ALWAYS on top of things.  From pre event planning to the day of event tasks, they're like hawks watching over everything and making sure everything is taken care of.  I was first introduced to GEH by Kittie, one of their event coordinators there.  We've worked together on a handful of events there now and all I can say is that this girl is awesome!  She get's work done.  A very sweet and soft spoken personality, but don't let that fool you, it's all about taking care of business when it comes to working with Kittie.  At some of the bigger events that we've worked together, she was running around like crazy making sure that everything was taken care of.  I think it's safe to say that, the only reason these parties seemed like they went off without a hitch, was because Kittie was behind the scenes making sure all the people, vendors, and guests were in the right place at the right time.  A true professional in every sense of the word.  Speaking of professionals, I've also had the pleasure of working alongside another one of GEH's top event coordinators, Kayleigh.  Kayleigh and I have worked together on a few weddings now, and it's always a great feeling to see the Bride and Groom gleaming after the completion of their wedding.  Simply because they got way more what they bargained for when they hired Kay.  They honestly cannot thank her enough.  In fact, I've actually witnessed a couple that just got married, try to recruit Kay into their immediate family because of the fantastic and amazing job she did at their wedding.  They loved her that much.  I wish I was joking, but it's true.  You can ask her about it yourself and she'll tell you.  ;)  Sorry Kay!  She's a fantastic coordinator.  Always on time, prompt, and ready for any curve balls thrown her way.  I can honestly say that among the hundreds of coordinators out there, GEH is at the very top of my list of event planners that I've had the pleasure to work with.  You simply can't go wrong with these guys! GEH catered and coordinated the rentals for our wedding 5/31/15.  They were absolutely amazing!! I would give them 10 Stars if I could! Planning: I worked with Xascha for planning and she was great! She had been to the venue before and spent lots of time walking me through the layout and looking at pictures online recommending the best setup.  She was always quick to respond to questions and was very helpful!Setup: Xascha met the rental delivery people the morning of the event and helped set everything up.  We didn't lift a finger and everything was set up beautifully, better than I could have imagined.Food: The food was so delicious.  Guests loved everything and couldn't get enough.  They said it tasted more like a 5 star restaurant than wedding food.Wait staff: All the wait staff and bartender were very professional and kept everyone happy!!! So wonderful!Tear down:  We were all in the pool during tear down and they left the place cleaner than when they got there!!!Amazing service, food, everything!! Our company hired Gourmet Events Hawaii to help with an event our office was putting on at the First Hawaiian Center.  Our office manager and I were designated as the bar tenders and it would have been a very different experience if Gourmet Events Hawaii was not there to hold our hands.  They had a bar kit that was absolutely perfect!  It was so thorough that we could have even done mixed drinks if we had been prepared to do so.  We amateur bar tenders had our hands full with just wine and beer.  The servers who were there to help us were truly amazing!  They were professional yet friendly.  All of the staff was very accomdating, and patient.  Kawika and Sateash were very very helpful with suggestions and recommendations.  Definitely hope my office decides to use them again! I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Sateash Diehm at GEH for making our dream wedding come true.  I would actually like to highly recommend Sateash Diehm who was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!  She coordinated everything for us from beginning to the absolutely very end and my guests and I could not have been happier with the turnout!!I would like to mention that we only had THREE MONTHS to pull this wedding off and we had to start from scratch as we had our wedding at a private estate in a backyard.  Sateash told us it would be no problem at all and made a layout plan, did measurements and made suggestions that we would have not even thought of!!  She was able to understand my vision in a matter of a couple of hours and was able to order all of my rentals and was able to get me everything I asked for in a very timely manner!  She was there for the entire planning, helped set-up of all tents and equipment and ensured that everything went extremely well.  When I had a concern about something the day before, she jumped into action, got her hands dirty and ensured that she would fix the problem to exceed my expectations!  She also was there on the day of my wedding, coordinating everything and making sure everyone was happy and having a great and it exceeded our expectations without a doubt.I would recommend Sateash Diehm at GEH for any event.  She made me feel like there was nothing to worry about because she handled it all which I really appreciated because I was unable to do a lot of planning because of my hectic work schedule.  Thank you GEH for having Sateash on your team, she really is absolutely amazing and I would hire her again in a heartbeat! Wish we could give more than 5 stars to Gourmet Events Hawaii.  Kayleigh Fehsenfeld was our coordinator and we couldn't have been happier with how our baby girls' First Birthday Party at the Bishop Museum turned out.  Where do we even begin?  We were SO happy with how her party was executed and we owe it all to Kayleigh and the wonderful team at GEH.  My husband and i are busy new parents, working full time with a young baby, and it was really difficult for us to get everything executed on our own.  She was so calm and responsive from start to finish.  Everyone was so professional.  We received a lot of compliments from our guests on how organized the party was, and how smoothly everything went.  We owe that to Kayleigh and the GEH team.   We were especially impressed with the things GEH did that we didn't even ask for.  For instance, we were so pleasantly surprised to see drinks being offered to our guests as they were arriving and mingling.  Even with the tradewinds, it was an outdoor venue and warm, so we really appreciated the thoughtfulness in offering our guests beverages as soon as they arrived.  That was such a nice touch, having the drinks offered on trays, with straws and napkins.  Not only that, but everyone from GEH was nice and helpful to us and our guests.   We also really appreciated the multiple offers we got from Kayleigh and other GEH folks to make plates for us and our relatives to make sure we ate too.  I ate everything on that pupu plate Kayleigh made for me and it gave me the energy I needed! Speaking of the food, it was EXCELLENT. Chef Will made an amazing assortment of buffet entrees and pupus for our guests.   We and our guests truly enjoyed all the delicious food he prepared.  We were still eating leftovers for a week after the party and enjoying every bit.  That was also unexpected and much appreciated - GEH's packaging all the leftover food for us to take home.  That was a very thoughtful thing to do for us. We also loved that Kayleigh and her staff checked in with us throughout the event, to make sure we were happy with how things were going, and to see if we needed anything or had any questions.  They did that in a way that was not intrusive and we really appreciated them doing that.   Again, we received so many compliments from our guests on our party and we gave out Kayleigh's name and GEH.  Businesses like GEH with heart and professionalism truly deserve repeat business and new referrals.  We appreciate EVERYTHING GEH did for us, and we will definitely use GEH in the future again! My plans to have lunch at a restaurant suddenly had to be cancelled as my husband-to-be's work schedule (military) had abruptly changed a couple of days before the wedding. The ladies that were helping me out (all done over the phone) didn't bat an eyelash. They threw together a course that sounded good... But was it going to actually taste good? It did!! Not only was the person dropping off the food was on time (actually early so I had no worries), evenyone in my wedding party kept gushing at how great the food was. GEH you are the best! We cannot express how great our gratitude is to our wedding coordinator and the entire team at GEH.  We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Gourmet Events Hawaii to everyone planning an event or wedding!  Every Bride and Groom should look no further for their wedding planning and catering needs because they are simply AMAZING to work with.  Sateash Diehm was our Coordinator for our wedding day on 8/21/14 and we would definitely wish any out-of-state Bride/Groom to be lucky enough to have her help plan and coordinate the most important day of their lives.  GEH was referred to us by our friends who got married in Hawaii back in 2012 at Lanikuhonua.  We immediately contacted Kat and she answered all our initial questions and provided us with all the service packages they offerred.  She set us up with Sateash and assured us that we were in good hands...We initially met Sateash sometime in October 2013, the ONE TIME we went to Hawaii to meet all our vendors since we live in California.  She set us up with three tastings with their preferred Chefs and instantly fell in love with Chef Chai's menu because of our passion for FINE DINING and GOOD FOOD.  Ever since then we've been communicating through email with Sateash and she is very QUICK TO RESPOND and very detailed in answering all our questions.  Since we live in California, having to plan a wedding in Hawaii through telephone and email was something not most Brides are willing to do, but Sateash's quick responses to email or knowing that she is just a phone call away made the process very enjoyable.  We can't thank her enough for all her time, hard work and patience with every detail of our wedding.  She went ABOVE & BEYOND what we thought a coordinator would do for us, but it really helped that we booked the caterer and equipment rental with GEH as well so that the big expenses for the wedding were all together in one invoice.  The company's  preferred vendor list was truly impressive!  GEH was also very flexible and willing to work on a payment plan that was comfortable for us since we were the one's taking care of the wedding expenses ourselves.  On the day of the wedding, it was apparent that she made sure that everything ran smoothly the entire day by actively being involved with every aspect of our vision.  Everything was PERFECT; the ceremony, food, service, decor, and weather were all on our side that day.  Our friends and family could not stop RAVING about how excellent the service was from everyone with GEH and how delicious the food was. The attention we received at the sweetheart table was amazing and not expected at all.  We thought it was a staff of only 5 people as stated on the invoice plus the bartender, but did not expect additional help.  It really made a BIG difference and they truly exceeded all our expectations and delivered a FABULOUS wedding.  We also didn't expect a visit from our Chef and thought that was very personable of him to come out and say hello.  On our flight with Hawaiian Airlines, we realized that he was the one who provided the meals for the passengers and we were so thrilled to find that information out.  We definitely made the right choice with our Chef to cater to our guests because we got nothing but positive feedback from everyone on how delicious everything was from appetizer to dessert.  Everyone's expectations for good food at our wedding was fulfilled because they were treated to a 5-star dinner prepared by one of Hawaii's finest Chefs in beautiful Ko'olina they will never forget.  Thanks to GEH, we were able to celebrate our love with our family and friends in a beautiful venue that was set up perfectly on time and everything went smoothly from ceremony to reception. We've been to a lot of weddings and can say that we were very impressed by the care and attention GEH provided to all our guests.  You can really tell that the staff cared about providing excellent service with PASSION and a SMILE which truly made an impression to us and our 65 guests.  We are happy for Sateash and the entire GEH team on their new office space and wish them all the best clients! :)  We are sad that our relationship has come to an end, but their excellent service will never be forgotten because they left a LASTING IMPRESSION ON US FOREVER! This is the second time I've used Gourmet Events Hawaii for a breakfast event at work, with china, silverware, and glassware for a classy look.  Working with Dean Masui and Kittie Wu is a pleasure. You can not go wrong by hiring GEH!!  Kayla was wonderful with helping coordinate the event and answered any questions I had.  This was a destination wedding so we had never even seen the property but Kayla went out for us and checked it out.  The day of the wedding the staff arrived and helped set everything up, they coordinated with Accel Party Rentals and made the sure the tent, tables, chairs, etc were on time.  The food was amazing, the staff was professional and served appetizers and brought everyone drinks, I didn't expect that.  As the bride I always had a fresh drink in my hand.  They stayed until the end of the wedding then helped break everything down.  Everyone was very friendly and I am so thankful we chose them, our wedding would not have been as nice without them. If you get Kayla Dunn as your wedding coordinator you will be lucky. She did a superb job. She was always available to hop on phone calls and respond to emails in a timely manner. Gourmet Events catered a wedding on my property this.  It is our first experience with Gourmet Events.  Kayla, the event planner, reached out to me months in advance.  She visited the property and communicated the details beautifully.  On event day, Kylie was responsible for day's happenings.  The whole staff were incredibly professional in their conduct.  I did not get a chance to taste the food, but the guests were raving about it.  Beautifully done!  Yes!  I will recommend Gourmet Events to anyone planning a party. I had worked with Gourmet Events Hawaii since Spring 2013 (married April 2014), although I had two different coordinators (I believe one left the company), they were able to give me the PERFECT wedding.  Let me emphasize the PERFECT :)Comments from my wedding guests:"I feel like I'm in a movie""I think I'm dreaming, everything is just so beautiful""Ok, seriously, I think I'm dreaming"Kayla from Gourmet Events Hawaii went above and beyond her duties to give me the best wedding day.  We worked side by side for well over 7 months (I'm very picky and always change my mind), she always had an upbeat attitude and answered all of my questions.  The day of the wedding she was at my venue at 9 am and didn't leave until all of the vendors had left (11 pm).  She kept everything on schedule, and worked with multiple vendors to ensure everything was setup properly, this included (MC, music, photobooth, officiant, rentals, food, drinks, waitresses, bartender, etc).I highly recommend Gourmet Events Hawaii and especially Kayla Dunn.  Oh, and the food was AMAZING! We live in Australia, but took a very big risk by having a destination wedding in Hawaii. Gourmet Events Catering were excellent. I dealt mainly with Kayla and Kat over Skype and via email, conveying my daughter Danielle and now son-in-law Dan's wishes. All the staff at Gourmet Events were well groomed, friendly and extremely patient when dealing with the guests. The set up and pull down of the whole event was smoothly and efficiently done. This was not a very big event, only 32 guests, our closest family and friends, everyone had a great time. A big thank you to Kayla, who handled any little problems that occurred during the day so well and the changing timeline (which didnt exactly run to time) but ran efficiently anyway. I really appreciated your happy smile and the willingness to make us all happy.Lastly the food was delicious and the bar service was great. I would definitely recommend Gourmet Events

GEH did an amazing job of preparing and executing a perfect wedding celebration.  All aspects of the wedding, from ceremony to entertainment were well beyond our expectations.  Furthermore, all participants of the GEH team were very professional, courteous, and added to a memorable experience.  First, to provide some detail into the success of our wedding, there was timely arrival of all vendors.  Second, setup at the venue was done quickly and ahead of the originally planned schedule.  Third, the recommended florist provided beautiful and lively floral arrangements that complimented the venue perfectly.  Fourth, the recommended makeup/hairdressers did a great job of keeping the hair and makeup of the women in good condition (even in the humid Hawaiian air.)  Fifth, the food was delicious; in fact one of our guests suggested that the Kalua pig was the best she has had. Sixth, the entertainment and photographers that GEH recommended went out of their way to make the evening special.  For example, the photographers stayed much longer than the allotted time and the entertainers were very alert to play the first dance song when my wife and I decided to dance out of sequence.  And lastly, the event coordinator did a fantastic job of managing and simplifying such a complex event.  Overall, I would highly recommend GEH to plan any event due to their professional nature, ease of planning, and exception execution.  We were extremely pleased. When I was planning my wedding I reached out to a couple of different catering companies on Oahu.  Gourmet Events was the most responsive so I decided to go with them.  I am happy that I did.  They were a wonderful company to work with.  Most of the communication was done via email which was very convenient.My event was October 6th and it was PERFECT.  Everything flowed wonderfully according to the timeline provided by Gourmet Events.The three staff who worked at the wedding were WONDERFUL.  Very professional, friendly, and personable.  The genuinely seemed like they loved what they do. We just had our wedding and used Gourmet Events as our caterer.  We worked with Kat and Chef Elmer cooked.  While I was a bit of a difficult bride during the process (and I am very skeptical when I write someone a big check) they were very patient and understanding.  Before the wedding: Kat was always giving me the updates and we had multiple calls to ensure they knew the entire plan and everything was on track.  She also helped to let me know what needed to get done because I was very new to this and was not one of those brides who read all the latest blogs or magazines.  They were very accomadating during the multiple headcount and table number changes because we all know that happens quite often.  Day of the wedding: Ok now this is where the 5 stars really comes into play.  First off the staff were very attentive to the groom and me on the day of the wedding.  They ensured that we always had our pupus and got to try everything (good) and a drink in our hands (double good).  Next they served us our food sitting down as soon as dinner started so we actually had time to eat ourselves (something that apparently not many people get to do at their own wedding).  They constantly refilled our glasses so we didn't have to do anything.  The staff dressed well and were very professional.  Many of our guests commented on how execellent they thought the caterers were.
