Beautiful grounds with wonderful event spaces as well as interesting classes. The docents are so knowledgeable and the tour of the house is really special. ..so many items original to the home and it’s 5 owners. Beauty, nature and history all in one place- right in the middle of town! It is really a hidden gem and lunch & sweet tea at Rev Cafe tops it all off! More...

It’s an old plantation house with lots of history, surrounded by naval oaks with Spanish moss hanging down. I would love to tour the buildings sometime when they are open.

Quite limited hours. I will have return to get in on an actual tour. But I enjoyed wandering the grounds for about an hour.

Pigmania was such a wonderful event. It was so laid back and the food was so good. My girlfriend and I had 5 dozen oysters. I can’t wait until next year.

It's telling that their website ignores the fact that Goodwood was a slave plantation. I'd hope a so-called museum wouldn't hide it's origin. Instead, it's another attempt to white wash America's shameful past. It's actually be worthy of a visit if they they owned up to the history of the place, instead of presenting a sanitized and idealized antebellum version of life on the grounds. Then again, the thought of getting married on the grounds isn't quite as romantic if one acknowledges what the slaves on the grounds must have experienced. More...

When it became known that Goodwood Museum was opening in 2001, I signed up for docent training. I have been a committed volunteer since that time. I enjoy sharing our varied and colorful history with visitors from all over the United States and many foreign countries as well. Our varied venue lends itself to many types of events and in some cases there is more than one event in different areas of the facility on the same day. Goodwood is a Tallahassee treasure to be preserved and shared for many years to come. More...

Because we arrived even before the Visitor Center was open - and likely also because it was a chilly Sunday morning - we enjoyed a private tour with Phil (a volunteer) which seemed more like going with a friend who shared mutual interest. The entire property is an amazing example of "Old Florida" and has enjoyed a series of very caring stewards of this very special property. Because of continuing careful ownership, Goodwood still exists unlike it's neighboring plantations that I read about in the book "The Seasons of Goodwood: The Unfolding Story of a Treasured Southern Mansion as Home". Our visit was a delightful experience, highly recommended. More...
