A dear friend passed away, and the solicitors were a waste of time. My friend had to pay for a Will that should have been free. Would not keep to appointment that they them selves had arranged. Not recommended. They were slow and made a multitude of basic errors in the will and the will they drafted used convoluted run-on sentences and the most antiquated language I have seen. It was not clear even if one does have a degree in English. We are not in the 18th century anymore and I have seen enough professionally-drafted modern wills to know it is a reasonable request to expect plainer English to be used in this day and age. They refused to correct this among many other things. As just one example, refusing to change the archaic word "issue" for "children" or "offspring" even, claiming if they did it would invalidate the will (pull the other one). Other such nonsensical examples. They evidently don't like their errors being pointed out to them either. The worst was when they nominated themselves as Executor/ trustees (without that being asked for). I know from past experience that they charge a ridiculous amount for this compared to other professional firms, meaning my beneficiaries could potentially lose tens of thousands, and so I not only asked that they remove this paragraph from the will but they also specifically state in it that I do NOT wish my benificaries or Executor to use their firm in part or full for such services because their charges are so high. I would not want in the absense of such a clause the firm to put pressure on them or make a suggestion their firm should be used when my kids would not have the knowledge or life experience to know, at a time when they would be grieving, the exorbitant charges they'd face using them compared to other firms. The good point is that I successfully got granted probate and I got the outcome I wanted, however there were various issues. Firstly after contacting Hugh Storer, I found that he is actually passing on your case to their sister company Premier Solicitors which has lower rating on google reviews so If I had known that why bother going with them to work with a lower reviews company. The communication was very bad, and I had to continually push for responses and didnt get replies to various emails. Because it was dealt with between Hugh who dipped in and out of the communications and Saveena at Premier Solicitors, it made things confusing. I gave what I thought was the original will to Hugh once we had started proceedings, which he then left for Saveena but then I found out she didn't know it was even there for her, and a couple of months later, when I told her Hugh had it, she found it and saw that it was a copy, so we had to find the original will which luckily we found, however Hugh had not checked it to see initially it was just a copy. To sum up I got the outcome I wanted and probate went through quite quickly, but before that it was very drawn out, slow and stressful. I would not use again. More...

What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to help my clients with some of the most difficult decisions they'll ever make. Who to leave their Estate to, when (at what age, for instance), whilst also ensuring that they're protected from a care home fees, tax liabilities, sideways disinheritance (remarriage of a surviving spouse) and all the other potential risks.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted to provide the best possible service to clients from an Estate Planning point of view. Many Will Writers are unregulated and I wanted to provide bespoke and tailored Estate Planning advice as a regulated law firm. The impact to clients of knowing their work is being carried out by professional, legally qualified and insured individuals makes a world of difference.
