The Classic Ranch Salad was seriously good - wish I'd gotten a Whole instead of Half, but I balanced that regret out with a delicious coffee cake. I left with a fudge brownie to-go that didn't last a half hour (also incredibly tasty) and took a bowling ball sized cinnamon role home for my manfriend. Quality ingredients that are largely grown right here in central Missouri and combined into some of the most creative and delicious things I've ever eaten. Not only is Jill's food absolutely scrumptious, but she also has one of the most loving heart's I've ever know. Going into Good Food Co. is truly good for the heart, soul, and stomach. I've been in there twice and tried several scones, cookies, and the cinnamon rolls. The extra-large brioche cinnamon rolls are soft and extra moist in the middle with a nice balance of icing so you're not left in a semi-comatose state afterward from sugar overload as you might many other rolls. The cheddar/bacon/chive scone is my favorite thus far. It is chock-full of cheddar, bacon, and chives and is perfect for one hand. It is not the mouth-drying crumbly mess most other scones I've had elsewhere end up being. This, like her other scones, is extraordinarily full of flavor and has a nice airy yet semi-dense (obviously not a poet here) texture without overdoing grease nor sugar on the sweeter flavors like cherry pecan. Blueberry muffin was okay- not bad at all. Pecan shortbread mini cookies are 3 for $1 and also not overly sweet which is pleasant. Chocolate chip cookies are $2 or 3 for $5. I've had many chocolate chip cookies from here and although they're not my favorite "style", something keeps me coming back to eat more and more of them....probably because the chocolate chips are small and abundant and the overall taste is almost a bittersweet or mild milk chocolate flavor (again, nothing in it to make my teeth regret my decisions which is nice!). I kinda wish they were a bit softer/not hard around the edges but like I said to each his own. The latest and greatest we've had was Jill's pecan pie for Thanksgiving. The crust was fabulous, the filling sweet but not too sweet and nice, crunchy whole pecans on top.
