Gold's Gym

Been going here for well over a year and have had great experiences. The only thing they need to improve on ASAP is hot tub maintenance for both locations, keeping hot water in the locker room showers AT ALL TIMES, and keeping the steam room clean and not smelly as well as keeping soap in the male locker room showers stocked. Other than those small gripes I would recommend this gym to anyone 100% especially for the price. I used to go to LifeTime but I hated it. LifeTime is by far the worst gym in the springs and golds is 10x better than lifetime in every possible way. More...

Best value for lap swimming in Colorado Springs. This is the only Gold's in the area with a pool and surprisingly, it is usually not crowded.

Recently moved to the Olney area and went in a couple of days as a guest member. Nice staff, clean equipment, well organized and very well air conditioned. Definitely will sign up this year.

I've been going here for years and generally love it. There are some opportunities for improvement though: (1) There is only one rowing machine. 1 out of every 2 times I want to use it, I either have to wait on someone else or someone else has to wait on me. I've requested another rowing machine on their periodic email survey multiple times, to no avail. I wouldn't be surprised if the one rower disappears one day due to the gradual takeover of CrossFit equipment.(2) There's very little open space thanks to a gradual but steady takeover of CrossFit equipment. You have to weave around people and weights, which is a hazard, just to get to the cardio area.(3) They don't seem to do much upkeep of the treadmills. The very same treadmills have been off (e.g., too loud of a sound when you run on it, indicating parts need replacing) for years. It makes me wonder if they've replace any of the belts or done other standard maintenance that is important for ensuring the machines stay lower impact & true to the speed indicated on the screen.(4) I've never seen staff cleaning the machines. I used to work at another gym and it's good practice to have staff clean a few types of machines each hour on a rotating basis. This is particularly important since many patrons don't clean after themselves, and patrons don't (nor should) clean parts of the machine they don't personally touch like the base. More...

Membership is pricier than other places but the cleanliness is better than most. They have janitorial staff cleaning daily. Members know to wipe down the machines after ever use. The kids club staff also wipe down toys, activity saucers and walkers. Always plenty of parking in front of the building. The best part is that Golds is constantly renovating their building and adding better machines and fixing things that need to be fixed. Lots of work out classes to choose from which I have yet to take advantage of. Racket ball, boxing, cinema room, pool area and a steam room available. Golds also has showers with a sink and mirror area so you can freshen up after a good work out. They also have a point system called perkville that gives you 5 points at every check in. I go to this gym two or three times a week to use the swim spa.  I had originally gotten this gym fee included with my insurance, however last year changed insurance and had to pay a yearly fee.  It was a reasonable fee and insurance will reimburse me $100 so not bad.  I just use the swim spa since I am a senior female and like it for arthritis in knee help.   I always feel so refreshed to get in the "hot" hot tub then relax in the bigger swim spa for exercises.  They just recently remodeled this whole gym and it is so clean and neat I really enjoy it.  Smells good and the water is always clean.  Maybe one day I will use the other exercise equipment but for now me at 76 I just love to spend time in the water doing my exercises.  The employees are very nice and kind also. Great gym. The equipment is in excellent condition and there is plenty of it. The people that work out there are good about replacing weights where they go, and wiping off the used equipment. Been a member for 7 years. Even has gotten less crowded so there is never a wait for equipment.Briargate location has rediculous # of machines, which is great for injured, or if that's your thing; raquetball and basketball court, but their hot tub is busted, and will prob never be fixed (their words). Full size lap pool.Palmer Park location is awesome. Steam and sauana rooms are in respective locker rooms (no co-ed, ladies), cardio Cinema, and their hot tub works. There is friendly staff and a clean environment to work out in. I hired a personal trainer and I am glad I did. While the base rate is pricey, you get what you pay for. Zach has been such a great help to me and is actually interested in pushing me to achieve my health goals. It's not just about making me do a certain amount of exercises, he educated me on nutrition as well. It's a whole lifestyle change. Supposed to be open at 05:00. Must be at least 30 vehicles out here waiting at 05:25 and there's still no one here to open up the gym. Update: If I'm going to leave a less than stellar review it needs to be objective and not based on emotion. I was very frustrated the morning that no one showed up to open the gym and I wasn't able to get in a workout. The reality is, this was one event and I have no idea what occured that kept the gym from being open on time. The other reality is, the majority of the time I love my gym. I am in from out of town with my grandmother at the nearby hospital. They helped find me a short-term plan so I could get my workouts in while staying close to the hospital.They were very kinds as well.

THE FACILITY-dope as can be, the equipment is great and they recently removed the spin room, more room for weights, yes dad, The locker rooms are very clean too, of course there is your share of naked oldies but that's what locker rooms are for. .THE STAFF-50/50 chance they are gonna be some of the nicest friendliest people you'll meet, or some of the saltiest most dense people East of the Rocky Mountains..however once getting to know many of the staff members I am amazed with how incredible they are at doing the best job they can to ensure the workout you're getting is top notch. They are human beings and everyone has a bad day but these staff are real pros when it comes to making you feel a part of the special and incredible "best club in Longmont" !!!Special thanks to - Roy, Derek, hunter, Hershel, Jen, and many more, big thanks to Alex for getting my bag returned that I left there with over 400$ of designer tees and gear.
