I train with Marco and he is amazing. He pushes you through your threshold but not in a military way. He has helped me with my mental block of the scale, and helps guide me nutritionally. He is the only trainer I have worked with that is as dedicated as he is to his clients. And I have used 4 others over the years. More...

I recommend their trainer Marco. He is excellent! Marco is very friendly and motivational. He is quite versed on all the training techniques and knows what areas to target for fat burn and weight loss. Overall I rate him an A+ trainer. My husband and I recently signed up at Golds Gym Mark was super helpful with showing us around the gym and getting us signed up! he explained everything really well and was helpful in answering all of our questions. pool, hot tub and sauna are all great bonuses and the gym rates are super affordable! Jorge De Hoyos is my personal trainer and he is amazing. We are working on fixing my forms and he taught me a lot of technics. For deadlifting, I can lift 295lbs now while it was around 200lbs 3 weeks ago because I learned how to use leverage and use your energy in the right way. That's so cool. He is so knowledgeable and super helpful. He is an expert in diets as well. He helped me set my nutrition and suggest what to eat. Training with Jorge is an excellent experience and we will keep going to achieve my goal. Bryan Wong coached me and guided me through my peak into a powerlifting meet. He was super nice, down to earth, helpful, and most of all, motivating. Bryan checked up on me regularly even on off-days. He helped me become more efficient in my lifts and set me up for success. Bryan offered to handle my meet for free and guided me to a Bronze medal. Training with Michelle (PT) is one of the best thing happened to me this summer! Ive been training with Michelle regularly for 2 months now, and it felt really good. I become more energetic everyday. She is so sweet and easygoing, and most of all, she is very caring of my experience. I would recommend her to anyone who is new to gyms or who is professional. Also, on the days I don’t train with her, she would always instruct me via message. She would give honest opinions, motivates you, and gives recommendations on healthy diets. When the first time I went to Michelle, all I wanted what to lose weight. Right now, I want to build muscle and strength and look fit and healthy. She really changed my idea of a “perfect body”. Overall, working out is fun and my body is becoming more fit and proportionate. I am more than happy.我真的很喜欢golds gym。我在这边做会员3个多月,已经完全中毒!!现在每天都会挤出时间去gym挥洒下汗水。这里所有的员工都很nice,如果你对任何运动器械有问题,每个人都会很有耐心的给你解释,帮你做正确的动作。私人教练的话我推荐Michelle,她真的超级nice,很有耐心,而且她很认真的对待每一个学员。她会经常问我关于训练的感受,会根据我的需求随时调整训练的内容,平时不上课的时候也会给我发信息,问我练的怎么样。我自己锻炼的时候她也会给我一个方案,在她的训练计划下,我的效果很明显。她平时对人不会特别狠,但是她是那种很会激励人的。我以前是不怎么去gym,肌肉量也不是很高,但是在她的训练下我的肌肉量提高很多,力量也上去了,身体的线条会比较好看。而且这里有蛮多华人教练的,可以和他们讲粤语普通话,他们都很有耐心。 我经常能看到年纪大的叔叔阿姨过来训练,这个gym真的是对所有人都很友善。不过gym里面还是肌肉比较多。像Michelle虽然不会讲中文但是她也很友善,很好相处,可以慢慢讲,就当是锻炼口语也不错。超级推荐 哈哈哈 More...

I’ve been training with Bryan Wong for almost 1.5 months now and it has been quite an experience. For the longest time, I was hesitant to work on compound exercises. Bryan has really helped me work on my bench, squats and deadlifts. To me, Bryan is not just my trainer or coach, he’s also my good friend and a big brother. It’s good to have someone you look up to and Bryan is that person for me. Often between sets, or outside of gym, he gives me a lot of his wisdom and tips on fat loss, muscle building, nutrition or life in general. He always keeps me accountable on my goals and has instilled in me a lot of discipline. Highly recommend Bryan if you’re looking for a personal trainer. More...

The classes are AWESOME!! I felt so welcomed the first time I attended a class - I was immediately helped by the instructor (Jen) as soon as I walked through the door. I've been a member since 2017 and I can definitely say that Golds UBC is one of the most welcoming environments to train in! The gym itself has such a great community and a huge part of this is due to their staff. Alex S. is there almost every time I go in and is always so friendly and welcoming. He always is able to answer any fitness related questions with constructive advice and is so motivating! His positive attitude and encouragements make my morning workouts so much better and it's great to see a friendly face. Overall, the staff here are absolutely phenomenal, the equipment is great and I am so happy that I have found such a positive gym environment that is also involved with the community at large! Bryan was my personal trainer and he was awesome. Really easy to get along with and quickly figured out what I needed to do to accomplish my goals. It was clear that he knew what he was talking about and was able to help me in a lot of ways. He kept our sessions fun but also maintained a level of professionalism as well. Great gym located conveniently at UBC which is great for an early morning workout before classes or after evening classes. The best part of this gym is the amazing group fitness classes and instructors. You can tell that they really care about delivering fantastic workouts and put a lot of energy into each and every class. The instructors promote an inclusive workout environment by showing modifications so that everyone feels successful in their classes. The absolute best part of this gym is the group power class. The instructors are so awesome and inspiring and make you excited to come back! !! Since playing competitive sports in high school, I hadn't found a way to exercise that was sustainable in terms of how much I enjoyed it, affordability, time, impact on body, etc. but group power has been so amazing for me, and I have to give credit to Jen and other instructors for making it such a positive experience for everyone. Here's the deal... I've lifted at UBC for the past two years without even so much as blinking an eye in the direction of Gold's Gym. Today I stopped by for a personal training session with Bryan Wong (more on that later!), and was blown away by the gym. Super clean, tons of machines and weights, friendly staff... Overall, a super professional and fun environment! If you're looking for a gym with a little more space, a few more options, and a super motivating atmosphere - Gold's is the place for you! The location is also super fantastic: super accessible (with amazing open hours) and conveniently located. I did an assessment with Bryan followed by a two-hour training session, and let me tell you... I am beyond DEAD! Bryan pushed me super hard, motivated me a ton, and gave me a plethora of unique pointers to utilize in my future lifts. I am super excited to incorporate what I learned with him into my routine and ultimately get stronger! Definitely work with him if you get the opportunity - you won't regret it and your muscles will be thanking you later (even if it hurts in the interim). Overall, I had such a positive experience at Gold's Gym at UBC and would recommend it to anyone! Even if you're a bit skeptical, check it out! A drop-in session never hurt anyone - unless, you know, you like, actually injure yourself... (But with the super great staff present, that's not gonna happen! I have been working out in this GYM for 3 years now. As an extremely skinny person my goal was to gain muscle and strength, and because I had no previous knowledge about working out I decided to take personal training. So, by chance I began working with Bryan Wong, a personal trainer, 2 years ago, and I am extremely happy that I did. We trained about 2 or 3 times a week. Over this 2 years I not only got in shape, but I also I have learned a tremendous amount of things about power-lifting, proper form, workout routines, etc. He is a very passionate, reliable, knowledgeable and friendly person and a coach. As a single father to two young kids, it is very difficult to find the time to workout with my hectic schedule. When my friend told me about Gold's I was sceptical, as I had always heard anecdotally that Gold's was a gym full of 'muscleheads'. When I finally caved and went for a workout on my day off, my expectations were completely subverted. The facility was cleanly and there were people of all levels of fitness working out. The staff were happy to engage in conversations with me and helped me figure out a plan to insert fitness back into my life. I used to go to the gym sporadically because of my own laziness until I started meeting the amazing staff at Gold's Gym.
