We enjoy our lessons with Cecile. My daughter and I have a joint lesson together: my daughter towards her GCSE; me as a refresher. Cecile makes sure that the lessons are relevant and challenging for both of us. I particularly like her clear understanding, and explanation of, the rules of French to build and structure sentences. I'm french, I'm 16 and I'm back to France to undertake the french baccalaurate from September. Last year Cécile helped me with my french : she taught me all the methods which will allow me to follow with confidence the french curriculum. It was a hard work but I really enjoyed working with her, she is very professional, very efficient, her explanations are very clear and she always finds a way to explain things. Cecile has been tutoring my daughter and preparing her for her French GCSE. She is always well prepared with valuable materials, such as work sheets and exam practice, to bring out the best in her pupils. As a native French speaker she is able to not only teach French but makes sure that it always used in the correct context. Her flexibility in terms of location and time has been really helpful as she has always been supportive. Cécile is always organised and willing to adapt the sessions depending on what you would like to cover, and she is flexible with times and dates for one to one sessions. What do you love most about your job?
I love teaching my native language to either children, teenagers or adults and providing them with high quality tuition depending what they need. I really like that tutoring allows me to create different resources and to adapt to different expectations. Currently, I am teaching French to bilingual French-British 6 years old, helping few Year 8 students to improve their French alongside school, preparaing Y11 students to pass their GCSE , training a French- British Y11 to pass her A-levels and doing conversation on A1 and C1 levels to different adults learners: this is a really wide range of levels and skills and that this variety that I love in my job.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I starting tutoring whilst I was still studying to pass my MAs in Teaching French Literature and Language as well as Teaching French as MFL. Once I graduated, I starting teaching but didn't like the big classes so much and was really missing the priviledge relationship that tutoring offers. So I deciding to go back to tutoring.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am highly qualified : native speaker with 2 MAs in Teaching French on different levels - Literature and as MFL- and I followed a PGCE course
and experienced : over 8 years of tutoring both groups, individuals and in company and for different levels from conversation to examination.
proofreading and translations
As well as tutoring, I offer to proofread your documents in French to double check and correct any aspect of the language (grammar, conjugation, syntax, spelling and vocabulary) at any levels (A levels, personal projects, degree and Masters degree dissertation, presentation and essays etc).
I also offer to translate any document from French to English and vice / versa.
