We have worked with Greg Epstein and gne Architecture for many years. He has a unique ability to translate the clients thoughts into a completed project. Greg takes the time to coordinate all aspects of a project into his designs including the MEP systems which allows for a complete finished product. His attention to project details during the construction phase assures that his projects go from the "drawing board" to reality which is rare in the industry. Greg is not only very knowledgeable in his field but he also has a great sense of space. He was involved in our project from conception to completion. We couldn't be happier with his input. He was always available whenever we needed to reach him. It was a big project and he had definitely the shoulders and knowledge for it. We highly recommend Greg. He was great from beginning to end: meticulous about details, good designer instincts, knew when to let us make choices and when his advice was needed, and just very pleasant to work with.
Thanks to his hard work and fabulous design, our apartment went from an old looking space with tons of un-used space to one spectacular home (a true modern living space…). We are really enjoying the end result on a daily basis.
Greg did a fantastic job with our triplex apartment in NYC. This ended up being a bigger job than what we had expected, with various twists and turns dealing with the usual assortment of building issues and hidden surprises that always seem to happen when renovating apartments in NYC. Greg was very responsive and came up with great ideas and more importantly listened and adjusted accordingly each time.
We have many rooms in our apartment since we have 3 floors. Every room and floor is thoughtfully designed, so that you feel a sense of balance and completeness n. throughout the whole space. Greg cares on details, and his caring attitude really reflected in his fine-tuned attention to detail in every idea & design. Greg also knows NYC extremely well - we appreciate his expertise and relationships with various contacts within the city.
Overall, we truly appreciate the partnership with Greg. He is smart, creative, flexible, and thoughtful every step of the way. In addition, he is always very responsive when we had questions or concerns regarding the project. We love our new place and can not thank him enough for his hard work.

This is the second full-scale renovation project I have worked with GNE on, and each one has been largely stress-free on the design side, because of the creative problem solving by the principal, Greg Epstein.
Greg's ability to integrate the needs of the client with the realities of construction and budgetary limitations and to produce a beautiful space is rare. He is very responsive to a client's vision or lack thereof and can communicate this efficiently with the project manager and construction crew.
The spaces he designs are always highly functional and creatively personal.

We worked with Greg Epstein on our apartment combination in Manhattan. We took two adjoining pre-war apartments and combined them into a new apartment with a modern design (not a simple task.
..). Greg was excellent to work with throughout the project. He had great design ideas for layout, materials, fixtures and basic design. He was very respectful of our ideas and always worked to help include us in the design process while steering the project in the right direction. His attentiveness to detail was great throughout the construction phase and was instrumental in keeping the contractor following the plan.
Greg and his staff were outstanding throughout the entire project and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone for their construction.

We used this company when we did a total gut revonation and combined two apartments in New York City. They did a fantastic job. Greg, the principal at GNE, was regulary on the job site (we also had weekly meetings at the job site with the general contractor and, when appropiate, sub contractors); had a terrrific eye and vision of the completed project, which he not only explained to us, but also prepared and showed us drawings and computer images reflecting his final vision of our apartment; and was truly amazing at maximizing every inch of space of our combined apartment. I am a very tough critic, and don't believe I have every written a review like this before, but I can honestly say that GNE did a great job on our renovation and made a very difficult and stressful process, easier and less stressful. I used GNE Architects to renovate my apartment in Chelsea (NYC). We had bought two apartments and they needed to be combined in a way that made them feel like one. It was almost a total gut renovation. It was a pre-war so we wanted to keep some of the "charm" details in tact and still make it feel modern. The space was only about 1700 sq ft but the way that GNE organized and utilized the space made everyone think it was closer to 2500 sq ft. What we liked most about working with GNE was that they really listened to both my husband and myself and found a way to incorporate what we both wanted and make it work for the space. The space was elegant, yet comfortable for kids and pets. They stayed in budget; and the timing was what we expected! It was an incredibly positive experience and we were thrilled with the result. gne architecture designed a contemporary masterpiece for us,perfectly sited,detailed, and executed. Mr Epstein's education, credentials, and practical experience are sterling, his design sense and aesthetics are impeccable, and his consistent attention to detail throughout the building process produced a sublimely elegant structure.
Our input was always reviewed and regarded, and the liaison between Mr. Epstein and the builder was characterized by easy communication and collaboration. From the first drawing to the last detail, we have the highest regard for gne architecture.
