This place is Lovely Wasn’t sure when we drove in as it looked a little rustic but it really is a hidden gem. We enjoyed freshly baked scones with raspberry jam, cream and coffee. Sat in the sunshine With the company of the friendly resident dog I bet this place is packed in the summer a must if you like friendly service and reasonably priced good food. More...

Glebe Gardens Café is an absolute gem. If you’re in Baltimore, you must visit. Run by the Perry family, it is a restaurant that uses local suppliers and homegrown produce. The main house is surrounded by immaculately kept gardens which produce fresh ingredients for Tessa Perry (the chef) to prepare; coffee is served in beautiful china cups and there is an array of fresh cakes to choose from. They look as good as they taste I was there today with my mum and daughters. I opted for the homemade ravioli. The filling was ricotta and butternut squash and the butter sauce had sage in it: a classic combination. On the side were freshly picked leaves from the garden and a honey dressing. The pasta was as light as air! Coupled with a glass of house white, I mopped up the buttery juices with the Perry matriarch Jean’s homemade yeast bread. Coffee next in an old fashioned cup and saucer (love this!) and a big slice of chocolate mousse cake with cream. It was amazing! I would highly recommend this gorgeous café. A true taste of West Cork. More...

Glebe is a gem - the food is terrific. We have eaten there several times and every time it has lived up to its well-deserved, award-winning reputation. A real treat. Lovely garden to wander around to work off the grub afterwards too. We've not yet attended one of the music nights in the open air theatre but the setting is magical - looking out over Roaring Water Bay. Definitely going to make up for that oversight next summer! It is always my "Go to" place. Whether it's only for a cup of coffee or a pot of tea, and hours spent yapping on the sofa with a dear friend or introducing a treasured visiting friend to the key gems of hospitality we have here in West Cork. Or for a decadent slice of their syrupy but not sweet, Orange Almond cake or the towering zingy Lemon Meringue pie. And always for a special celebratory meal... More...

Pulling into the graveled drive of the Glebe is like coming home. Summer really only begins with our first coffee and a slice of The Glebe's superb lemon meringue cake. As summer unfolds long, hard runs on local hills become quests with the reward being a Glebe breakfast of pancakes heaped with bacon and maple syrup or a full Irish proud with local produce. Then there are sunny chattering lunches where the guilt of a mid afternoon glass is offset by the garden freshness of our plates and candle lit dinners full of anticipation for the creativity that Tessa and her team will bring to our plates. But perhaps best of all are those late summer afternoon's when you sneak in late for a coffee and a slice of whatever cake remains after a long drive south on impulse. The warmth of the welcome and cup and plate appearing almost before you've thought to ask, that is what its like to be a customer of The Glebe and why I recommend them to all of my colleagues who visit us from afar. My husband, sister in law, my adult daughter and her friend enjoyed a magnificent dinner here in mid-August 2017. Atmosphere was excellent and the service was friendly and attentive - exceptionally good. Plus the food (it was a tasting menu) and wine were tremendous. When we told our waitress that we had really enjoyed our main course, seconds were produced! It was the stand-out meal of the summer for us. Highly recommend Glebe Gardens - our family has had many lovely lunches here over the years. The gardens are delightful to visit and if you are lucky enough to catch a play or a music gig in the outdoor amphitheatre, especially in good weather, well there is nowhere better to be in the world! Can't wait to return to the Glebe. More...

I Love the Glebe. I'm always a bit disappointed when I drive past and it's closed. It's rare to find that ambiance anywhere else and the courtyard is my favourite sunlit spot to sit and have a cup of tea and a scone (or to hear or perform live music!).

Went for dinner last night and had an amazing time! The service was brilliant with friendly and attentive wait staff, the atmosphere perfect and the food was divine. Better again, we got to go back to collect the car this morning after indulging in the fabulous wine list last night! The breakfast was delicious, the pancakes are to die for, and the cakes we brought home made for perfect afternoon treats on a rainy Sunday. We're already looking forward to our next visit. More...
