A great cottage for a short break exploring Angellesey with the dog. Set down a lengthy track (away from any noise) the cottage was warm and welcoming, with comfortable beds made, towels and a cheerful welcome from Dave. The cottages are family friendly with an excellent library for books, games, DVDs and music, a games room, laundry room (free to use) and baby/toddler equipment. All on 1 level. the well appointed cottages are easy to make home. The enclosed field for dogs was fantastic and the walks around the nature reserve were lovely - plenty of wildlife to see and paths to explore. The setting is quiet, relaxing and well thought out. There are several other dwellings around the cottages, including farm buildings behind some of the cottages, but the views over to Snowdonia and the sea are great! The commitment to renewable energy, the environment and wildlife is brilliant.||||Good access to local beaches, shops, tourist attractions - you do need a vehicle to explore this wonderful island. Set up a long lane in the midst of a wildlife reserve, with idyllic views towards Snowdonia over the Menai Straits, these high standard converted farm buildings are comfortable and well-equipped. The precinct also contains a games room and library for when it is rainy and a barbecue and hose to wash down muddy dogs are provided. There is wonderful beach 10 minutes away at Newborough to run dogs (access is £5 during the day but free after 18.00. There is a lack of shops but the farm shop recommended by the owner is excellent and smallish examples of main supermarket chains are not far away. We stayed in 'Raven' cottage and the kitchen was well-equipped and had an under-work-top freezer as well as a fridge. It had two bedrooms (one double and one twin) but as a couple we only used one of them. More...

Lovely bedrooms, good bathroom, moderately equipped kitchen Ordered the breakfast one morning which was lovely - freshly baked warm bread, honey, yoghurt, fruit, cereal and milk. Just returned after a lovely three night stay in the Greenfinch cottage. The rooms were spacious warm and cosy. The uninterrupted views from the living rooms in Greenfinch and Wren are stunning out across the fields towards the sea. Everything you could want was provided although could have done with a freezer compartment in the fridge. There is a seperate building with a library , DVDs and local information. Also decent wifi. Our host Dave was very obliging and offered to provide us with a BBQ and chimnea if we wanted. There was also a fire pit available on the grassed area with great views. The driveway appears to have been recently resurfaced - earlier reviews mentioned lots of pot holes. But it is a narrow'ish - in parts - graveled farm access track so care should be taken with speed. ||It's a great quite location but only a short drive to lots of places.||Will most definitely return next time staying on Angelsey. This has been a wonderful break to celebrate a family member's birthday. Our group rented all but one of the cottages. The area surrounding the accommodation is safe for both children and dogs to play with minimum supervision. The library cabin is well stocked with books and DVD if required. The kids loved this room and made it their own. The attached land has lakes and woodlands. Wild ponies, countless birds, otters, amphibians. Listen out for the noisy Ravens! A good central spot to explore the island on foot, cycle or by car. The mainland is only 20 minutes away (unless you time your journey with a ferry arriving, then add another 15). The owners are lovely people. David is full of local knowledge and always has a story to share. Want a fire pit? Just ask! We booked to stay at Glan Morfa last year, and the bed Swan cottage was perfect for our family of four plus my not-very-nimble mum who doesn't like to go far, and needs her creature comforts. We stayed in a lot more last year so the library was great for us. We decided on here as for our kids it's not a holiday without sand and it's only a short drive to park up at gorgeous Newborough (10 min) for whenever the weather decides to play along. Our 9 yr old is a skywatcher and we could see fron the website it'd be perfect.Booked again this year for just our 4 to carry on exploring the places we didn't get to and realised again just how great this place is especially as the weather was worse this time. Being on the south/east side of the island it is a shorter drive to all the places to visit back over in Wales (our reason for deciding against Treardurr Bay in the end). As soon as the sun came out we were first onto the beach. We found Glan Morfa comfortable and equipped with everything we needed- not luxury, but you cannot beat the price for school holidays, plus who needs anything more than a decent kitchen and bed when there is so much to do!. You can spend a good couple of hours just walking about the nature reserve. Lovely views and on a clear night, a million stars. If you time it right, spectacular meteor showers and a good stretch of the Milky Way. We all slept very well every night thanks to the dark sky, fresh air and silence at the site. Owners are lovely, great with kids, around if you need them but otherwise don't see them. More...

We missed out on walking round the nature reserve due to paths being overgrown, but we and our dogs had fun romping in the meadows. This is a good location for families and couples. To improve the experience for others we would suggest (I) patio doors in place of the picture window; (ii) improve the access road and cut the hedges to stop scraping the sides of the cars; (iii) take care to turn off oven and hob before turning off the switch; (iv) a little more meet and greet to explain facilities etc. More...

Comfy sofas to relax on after walking all day. I found the mattress in the main bedroom to be too hard but I do suffer with a back problem. The kitchen would benefit from a fridge that has a freezer box as we had nowhere to re-freeze our cool blocks for picnics so had to buy sandwiches each day, and also no ice for drinks.
