Tapas-style resto and lounge, great for a romantic dinner or classy night out. We enjoyed the food tonight. We totally agree with everyone that the Tuna nachos are !

We hosted an engagement party at Gilt on Saturday night. Kristi and staff did an amazing job in accommodating an eclectic crowd. A tremendous venue with a wide selection of food and drink. Special thanks to Trella and Steph...highly recommend! More...
Everyone that works there is so friendly. Christine and kirstie are awesome and the food is always amazing!!
Enjoyed dinner here. Nice experience and good food
A bit pricey but the service and food are excellent
Friendly staff ,very clean and a lot of people enjoying the food. However parking is a problem just like the rest of down town Kitchener.
The brunch here was magnificent! Most unusual combinations of flavors, that nevertheless worked together very well. We had the lamb neck Benedict and the bread pudding french toast, both highly recommended. However, when I came once to have lunch on my own, I had a very different experience (worst burger I've ever had!). So - it can be a hot and miss, try them for brunch! More...
Good food and atmosphere. All tapas. Pick at least five and share it with the table. The bill at the end is equally divided amongst everyone. Very nice touch
Soup was really delicious.. The falafel naan was not according to my taste. The naan bread was cold instead of being hot which I expected. Wont be fair if I give it lesser than 4 as I may not be a judge of their cuisine. More...
Probably the best restaurant in Downtown Kitchener. Love the sharing tapa style! I've been here quite a few times and the menu changes from time to time but the dishes are always great (innovative, tasty and delicate) and the service is always attentive. Great place for a small group to have a slow, relaxing dinner where you can have good conversations. Strongly recommend. More...
Great atmosphere. Great decor. Great food. Duck Confit was far too salty, even for a Confit. Otherwise, great all around.
This place was great food and great funn
Great staff.. amazing chicken and waffles.
Tried this restaurant for dinner tonight and absolutely loved it!!! So good omg! One of my new favourites. Loved the concept, service and incredible food!
Kim Di Lello
We shared 4 plates, each one unique and delicious! Definitely recommend, and we will be back again!
We went for a private event. Everything was over the top delicious. A real feast for the eyes and palate.
We spent our tenth wedding anniversary at Gilt last night. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates, deep fried cheese curds, lobster roll, Korean fried chicken and the beef tartare with bone marrow . For the two of us it was more than enough food. The bone marrow/beef tartare and bacon wrapped dates were the highlights. Everything was gorgeous and delicious. I found the prices to be fair for what you got. We spent $100 for the two of us with a couple beers and cocktails. We skipped desert because we we're stuffed but it all sounds amazing. More...
Service is excellent staff always has a smile and the food is delicious
The atmosphere is fantastic. Easily the best brunch I've had. The Lamb benny is too die for, so is the chicken and waffles. Our server Tara was phenomenal!
Food and drinks were really good!!! Atmosphere is incredible and cozy, and the service staff are super nice.
Good food and great staff.
Picked this restaurant to celebrate with my boyfriend based on the very unique dishes listed on their menu and we were not let down at all! Besides the food, the waitress was very friendly and informative and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Love the tapas style dinner as we got to try lots of things off the menu. Dishes were well executed and we were not disappointed with any, after leaving we could not pick a favourite (got 4 in total and left very full - price is reflective of the size of portion). And to top it off the cocktails were also great! Highly recommend. More...
My wife and I were looking for something a little different in downtown Kitchener, and Gilt did not disappoint. The second we walked in the door we felt welcome. We didn’t realize it was tapas style until we were seated, but our amazing server (Tara) made the whole experience amazing. The atmosphere was great, the service was exceptional, and the food was the best we’ve experienced so far in downtown Kitchener. We will be back. More...
Really good meal.
I felt guilty I spent so much!
Great service, good food. Get the cantaloupe salad!
Went to Gilt for lunch today and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our server was amazing - friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The kitchen was able to accommodate my dietary needs without any hassle, even giving some awesome suggestions that I didn't even think of. My lunch was delicious and satisfying. More...
A group of 4, we booked into Gilt without knowing exactly what type of restaurant it was. We quickly found out that it was tapas shared with the table. We had ordered PB & J Wings (amazing, who would have thought), Carbonara Gnocchi, Pork Belly Perogies, 24 Hour Short Ribs, Fried Cauliflower, Pear & Brie Flatbread. Each of the dishes was fantastic. At the end of the meal we tried to pick our favourite and least favourite, and everyone had a different favourite and no one could pick their least. We will definitely be putting this restaurant into our rotation. More...
KETO Friendly. Went with a group of 9 for a birthday party, they were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating with the KETO Diet. More than happy to bring us plates that were slightly different than our friends. Jenna was our server and offers amazing advise about drinks and food choices. Food was amazingly flavourful and presented beautifully. Will be going back! More...
Great food fantastic service
Came mid snowstorm, shocked they were open. Brought a group of 9. Amazing service, great food, and I left very happy. The meal style is family style (pseudo tapas) with a wide variety of entrees. I don't promise you'll enjoy it but try the scallops on cake - one of the most unique flavour combinations I've ever tried. More...
Gourmet food at reasonable prices. Today I had the coconut curry soup and it was fantastic.
Fun atmosphere, great menu, staff seemed confused about the menu, which was the only down side.
LOVE IT!! the tuna nachos rock my world.
One of my favourite restaurants! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Our "go to" favourite for special occasions. It's a Tapas only restaurant. Their fusion of tastes in each dish are amazing and so is their Service! Highly recommend!
Interesting combinations. Just got unexpected bread items with gluten free guests. But we easily found work arounds
The first time I visited this restaurant was a few months after they'd opened. I went again in January 2019 after some years, and I'm happy to see they've held up through the years - through the construction on King, and the multiple early naysayers, this place has survived and seems to be thriving!I went for a late lunch by myself, and thoroughly enjoyed the steak salad. Care was taken in the preparation and presentation of the food, and it showed. Not a place to go if you're looking for fast or casual food, nor would I necessarily call it kid friendly. Perfect for my demographic though (young professionals who work in the Kitchener tech hub). Would definitely make a point of visiting more often, I seem to have been missing out. More...
Lobster rolls were incredible, though only 2 come. With a group of 4 I would ask for a double order. The portion of steak tartare was very large, and excellently prepared. The nitro ice cream was cool to see but not good at all. Oversalted and strange overpowering maple flavor. Mostly on the menu for the experience of seeing them make it which was pretty cool to see. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place. More...
If you come to Kitchener and you miss this restaurant, it will be the biggest regret of your life. I've traveled to over 42 countries, tried foods from all over the world, and this place captures the soul of each of them. The works of art on this menu are inspired by every great influence on the globe, and the ability shown here to infuse flavour in a dish is beyond the capacity of every chef I have encountered. This menu has something for absolutely every palate and diet. Anyone who visits this restaurant will leave with a smile on their face if they have a brain in their head. I tried three of the menu items, which were difficult to choose from because they are all so creative and interesting that I wanted all of them. Talk about hooked for life. My new bucket list is basically tasting every piece of food available at Gilt in downtown Kitchener. This is coming from someone who thinks of skydiving as simply a great substitute for coffee. The service was phenomenal. This is a family business that created a better alternative to big box corporate operations like The Keg and Milestones, which are great places to eat mind you, but they simply do not come close to Gilt in terms of quality, uniqueness, and a personal experience. There is an attitude of total quality management, a philosophy created to keep everyone invested in a given operation accountable to, and for, each other all the time. I have never been so impressed since the 700 year old medieval Old Hansa in Talinn, Estonia, which ran on wood fires and oil lamps. I would recommend parking in the lot behind the restaurant, or, easier, taking a cab so you don't have to worry about your vehicle or whether or not to drive it, because you will find the selection of unique beers very seductive. I work for Mercedes-Benz, and our philosophy is the best or nothing. I am happy to consider this restaurant the Mercedes-Benz of venues in Kitchener-Waterloo. Fortunately I only live a few blocks away so I am able to come here as often as possible. I've eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, consumed some of the most rare ingredients, and one of my hobbies is assessing just how delicious restaurants actually are compared to their counterparts all over the globe. This place has a pretty impressive history, and I recommend you ask someone who works there to tell you the story of how they got started. Whether you are Canadian, or an international traveler, you owe it to your taste buds to visit this amazing place at least once in your life. They have a tree growing in the middle of their patio, it's like something from Game of Thrones, and I know how much you all love Game of Thrones. No one knows how good life can be until they try something. A Mercedes costs more than a Toyota, but until you drive one you'll never understand why. As well, until you try this restaurant, you'll never realize how much pleasure you could have gotten from one meal. More...
Yummy food, good spot, parking can be an issue sometimes though
Always a great place
Amazing food. Great atmosphere.
Great small plates. Good variety. Great cocktails.

First time here. Had the grill cheese lunch special. Loved it. I'm a big fan of cheese sandwiches. Staff were friendly and attentive. This may sound weird but the table water was sooo good. Definitely check this place out. More...
Great place for sharing tapas!
Fantastic food tapas style. Best scallops I've had in awhile. Was noisy due to a large group but otherwise nice evening all around.
Came on a nice, quiet Monday. Loved the atmosphere and tapas-style dining. We got beef tartare, tuna nachos, pulled pork perogies, pear flatbread, and the brussel sprouts. The beef tartare was excellent, the flatbread was delicious, and the brussel sprouts were quite unique and yummy. The pulled pork perogies were fairly bland and the nachos were nothing special. Overall, we'd come back and try more dishes and had a nice evening! More...
Food and service was excellent! Can't wait to go back!
Wonderful foods. Creative dishes that make for a great night out. We tried the pork belly perogies and the Pad Thai ceviche and the squash lentil curry and many more. the instant ice cream made with liquid nitrogen in front of our eyes was a fun treat. Scotch and bourbon selection could have been better. The service was outstanding! Looking forward to another visit. More...
One of the best restaurants in KW. Try the fried cheese curds. The secret is in the sauce. I ordered the falafel which was probably the best I have ever had. And i eat a lot of falafel. The rest of the group had the salmon and the shrimp salad. Everyone had nothing but good things to say about this place. More...
Six stars would be right for this place - wow!!
A group of us ended up here since the place we wanted to go was closed but it was near us. The photos on Google looked appetizing so we walked in and were seated quickly for late brunch. Our server Christine qas super energetic and helpful lot our queries over menu items and was sweet to ask the cooking staff questions we had about their soup of the day. The food was very good. We all enjoyed our fried cheese curds and were intrigued by the apple kimchi poutine. My caesar salad got a bit too salty doe me to eat. Even though it looked great there was a bit too much parmesan. My burger was juicy and filling, though did not pack any huge flavors. I would like to eat here again! More...
Beautiful interior! Cozy for sunday morning brunch. Not too busy and could use a bit more veggie friendly options!
Fun tapas restaurant. Had a fun date night with my wife. Worth a try if you have never been, good to go with 4 people or more to share a bigger variety. We will be back.
Excellent service and amazing food!!
Overall a nice and a friendly place with good food and drinks.. giving a star less due to goof-ups that happened particularly for my visit there the first time.. Would not mind going back again though... :)I would give them 3 star... but due to their sweet gesture at the end of the dinner I would give them 4.... I was looking for places for taking a friend of mine for her birthday and bumped into this one... looked nice and fancy and seemed good too... When we reached there... place was just perfect, warm and friendly... We were greeted well and guided to our table.. the service was good too... I particularly found my cocktail to be too sweet but I blame it on my choice of drink... sangria was good though.. Coming to food.. we called for lobster and the cheese curd fries along with (I think) Gnocchi... food was good as well.. now the part where it went slightly bad for us.. the service was a bit slow and there was some mix up with our order so we had to wait for some of our food to arrive for about 45 mins... it definitely came a while after though along with an apology... Also, I had mentioned to them about it being my friends birthday so I was expecting a cake or so... but they had ran out of it and offered their doughnuts instead with candles but we decided to skip it... Our host realised that we aren't having the worst night but not even the best being there.. So they decided to completely wave off our bill and just requested us to give them a second chance. I guess I will... More...
My husband and I love it here. The service is always great and the food is outstanding (you MUST try the tuna nachos and lobster rolls)! They also always seem to have my favourite wine in stock (Cannonball Cabernet Sauvignon; a California vintage), which is always hard to find at the LCBO! More...

Good atmosphere, great menu with many vegan l, gluten free, and vegetarian options. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. The crowd is more mature, and it's therefore a quieter dining experience. A little expensive for tapas style dinning and parking in downtown is getting tricky. More...
It was good. The deep fried cheese curds were amazing. Everything else we had was good. Just really really loud music. Kind of killed the vibe.
The rating should be 4.5 stars. Excellent service and quality food. I would recommend this place for business/client entertaining.
Great food and vibe!
I've been probably 3 times now. The menu is always delicious and exciting in a new way. It's the place I go to impress a friend. And there's never a wait
Excellent steak salad.
What a great restaurant. I treated my two step-daughters for lunch here the other day, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of options, including gluten-free meals. And great and friendly service. More...
Scallops and gnocchi were well done. Good service and a pretty nice atmosphere.
Gilt! You were so closing to getting my 5 star!We came here for brunch on a weekday and it was surprisingly empty. I read on their website about the "short history" of Gilt and it's cute. The three of us arrived and were seated immediately. Beautiful bar area and decor in general. It's definitely a prime restaurant in KW for a date night. Our server came by soon after we sat down and explained the menu and drinks. She gave us time to decide while bringing us water. We ordered the mimosa, virgin mimosa, and latte for drinks; spicy chicken waffles, lamb beck benedict, and lobster benedict for food. Drinks arrived shorty and food took a bit longer than usual. I loved both the virgin and alcoholic mimosa. The portion is MASSIVE, so drink up! The latte was nothing special. The spicy chicken waffles..OMG! It was amazing. I don't know why Gilt is not famous for their chicken waffles yet. If you're a fan, you gotta try it here. I also had a bite of the lobster bennedict. Creamy, and delicious! They really don't cheap out on the ingredients. So far, Gilt is a solid 5 star until i ate my lamb neck benedict. The eggs and the meat were all so perfect. The flavour of the curry/sauce was such a nice twist to the usual hollandaise sauce.....but it was cold. At first i thought - maybe that's just how the dish is supposed to be. But it tasted really odd, cold curry? That can't be right. After eating a bit more, i realized that some parts of the sauce was warm and some were cold. Again, loved the flavour of the sauce but it wasn't pleasant having it "not warm enough".Huge shoutout to our server (Kristin?) - one of the nicest, most passionate people I've met. More...

Top drawer food. Excellent staff. Great atmosphere.
Love the food and atmosphere here. My wife and I agreed that our favourite part of restaurants are the appetizers so it's nice to find a place that serves all apps!
Great tapas, a bit on the pricey side though
Oh God... Always so good on so many levels... Great staff, great drinks and even better eats. Always interesting things to try.
The food is amazing and the atmosphere is lovely. Definitely a higher end restaurant but worth the $$ I will definitely be going back.
Gilt Restaurant doing it right! They hooked me up with a really good orzo salad using falafel instead of salmon. It's always nice to see when restaurants make acceptions for diet. Thanks for a great meal with amazing atmosphere and service! More...
Decor is very glamorous and chic! When we read the menu everything sounded amazing-as long as they could execute the intricate ingredients! And they did!! My husband ordered the pulpitos (a fried octopus dish) and I had the roasted spaghetti squash with curried lentil. Both were amazing! As a vegan I am mostly disappointed when trying out new places. Gilt did not disappoint!!! More...
Pricy and a bit of a wait but outstanding food
Gilt burgers on Friday are a must try.
Was just here for brunch the other day and the food was amazing! Will be back for sure, only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was because of the wait staff service. It wasn't very busy and it took them a while to come to our table and when they did they seemed to really rush us through our order. More...
Oh God... Always so good on so many levels..Great atmosphere, exceptional staff, beautiful and delicious tapas!
We made a large reservation for a friends birthday and were really excited to try this place. We had a nice table and the restaurant is very chic. Our server was very friendly and helpful explaining how the menu worked. We ordered almost the entire menu as there was a lot of us. Being tapas style we thought the more the better. We all got to try each dish and left full. The drinks were great as well. The only flaw is it is pricy but it was worth it and I will most likely return. More...
Delicious tapas! They adjust servings according to party size which was great. Everything we tried was delicious. Service was great as well. Look forward to returning.
Gone here for my birthday two years in a row now and it never disappoints. Our server christine was great and so was the food! A great selection and atmosphere
Amazing amazing. Service quick. Didn't realize when you want water though they bring it from a capped bottle and you pay for it ... reminder to self I onky want glass of water from tap. Tapas was worth waiting for. Tasty and my daughter and I wanted more but after sharing beer, 4 tapas plates, delightful chocolate cake that oozes out chocolate and the bottled water the bill was $100. I think it was worth it yet I would only go in special occasions to spend this much money for 2 people. More...
best resturand in kitchener hands down
Love this place. Tons of gastro fair to choose from and the chef are more than accommodating for allergies.
Loved diner here. The Tapas style allowed us to sample many creative and delicious items. Highly recommended. $40-50 per person.
Great food, the spicy chicken tacos are delicious!
Great for Sunday brunch. I had Lobster Eggs Benedict - heaps of lobster, bacon, brie. Super decadent. My wife had a curried lamb Benedict. It was also really good. Definitely recommend for a more upscale brunch! More...
My husband took me to this place because it is one of the very few restaurants that serve bone marrow. This place did not disappoint and more. Gilt restaurant serves food tapas style, meaning it’s meant for sharing. We got to indulge in 5 kinds of dishes which was really awesome. Unexpectedly, our favourite item was the bacon wrapped dates. The price is very reasonable. My husband found a new favourite brand of whiskey which is the white owl. The sangria I ordered was beautifully presented that it was kinda heartbreaking to drink. We are definitely coming back to this restaurant soon. More...

Excellent food service was amazing!! Highly recommend!!
Always delicious, great food, drinks and atmosphere. One of the best places on King Street in Kitchener.

Great Lacation to have a beer.
This is a great restaurant! Been here a few times for lunch with co-workers. Food is super tasty, sometimes it's a bit on the salty side, but I kinda like it. I had the Pork belly tacos today with the parmasan fries and garlic aoli. They were excellent! Prices are on the higher side, but your paying for quality. The sunflower seeds on the pork belly tacos added a nice texture! So good, def recommend this place to anyone. More...
The bacon wrapped dates are AMAZING
Great food, 9 course...mmmmm
The food here is beyond words.
Good food with a mix of everything for any occasion. Always a pleasant experience.
My wife and I were recently married in Greece and while there, we often commented on how we wish the level of service there existed here in Canada. We had our legal, second wedding and reception at Gilt. From the moment we first met with Kristi until the last moment of our incredibly perfect day, she was caring and friendly and provided us with the utmost in personal and professional care. Every minute detail was taken care of and our guests were blown away by the food and service. To Kristi and her entire team: Thank you for everything! We will forever be grateful for all that you did to make our dreams come true. Manny & Jenn More...
Amazing tapas place. Brunch is also super good.

Food is always really solid, though always a tad pricey
Some nice brunch items
Bone marrow, steak tartare, tuna taro nachos are all great.
Went for brunch...good service...food was also very good. My friends also liked their food very much.
Wow, here is really awesome place-! Especially steak salad is so great!!
One of my favourite brunch places in town! Love the spicy chicken and waffles. We always seem to get the same server and she is lovely, friendly and just the right mix of attentive vs. leaving us alone to talk over endless cups of coffee. The atmosphere can be a bit "cavernous" and quiet sometimes. More...
Incredible service and food.
Fantastic brunch! Excellent service
Love this place. Not super expensive, reasonably quick at lunch, and great food.
Food was fantastic, great ambiance. Excellent service. Can't wait to come back.
A nice blend of Canadian and European style gourmet cuisine in downtown Kitchener. A little high-priced for most portion sizes but excellent quality.
Wonderful, creative dishes, great wine selection, service and decor!
I'm not usually one to complain about portion sizes (especially since this is a tapas place) but I really didn't feel like the portions were worth the price.
I've been here twice and absolutely love the atmosphere. The second time I got the duck and was not a fan, but the server was so kind and make sure to check on me and ensure the rest of my meal was amazing, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend visiting for a drink or a nice sit down dinner More...
Very good food. Service was a little slow but fortunately that day we were not in a rush for lunch
Great food and wine and service! The lunch salmon special I had the other day was awesome. I've been here several times and have never been disappointed.
Cheese curds and bacon wrapped dates are killer. Plus love going on burger Fridays and the staff is probably my favorite in KW!
Another great night !!b
Drinks are delicious. Food on the other hand seemed to fall short. The descriptions of the food sound amazing but just doesn't meet the mark. Restaurant is beautiful though.
Excellent vegetarian options. Tofu cubes have fish sauce but is clearly marked if one wants to avoid it.
Let our waitress pick a spread, did great job. Great wines.
Small plates, good if you like tapas.
Great brunch options at Gilt Restaurant.
Great brunch! Lovely environment.
What a great restaurant! Unique food, great service, wonderful variety in wine. Highly recommend the Guilt for a great dinning adventure
Awesome menu, changes up often though so don't get attached to any particular dish, but definitely come in with an open mind because I've been impressed every time I've been. Veggie options are great, feel free to ask for adjustments. More...
The chicken and waffles are a must
Great lunch place. Flavorful dishes. Burger Friday. Good craft beer selection
Very good food. Good service.
The Bacon wrapped dates, fried cheese curds, and pear & brie flatbread were amazing. But, I was very disappointed with my 15$ pear cocktail. It was a most a 6$ cocktail.
$10 burger Friday with bacon and egg. Best value in the city for a Friday lunch. The food here is good any day of the week though. Highly recommended, though I personally steer clear of these smoked salmon salad. Sounds food but always misses the mark. More...

A+ for originality and great taste. Love the tapas-style servings. Brussel sprout Ceasar and Roasted Spaghetti Squash were a hit as were the pork belly perogies and Lobster Roll. We will definitely be back and bring friends. We need more restaurants like this in KW. Thanks guys. More...
Great place to sit and have a drink and a conversation. They make a decent Perfect Manhattan.
One of if not my favourite in town. Staff food and atmosphere are the best. Creative and delicious foods mixed with an incredible staff never let us down.
Even though they don't advertise as such, they are very vegan friendly! The chef made the cauliflower, spaghetti squash, tofu, and arugula salad vegan for us and all we dynamite. Our favorites were the spaghetti squash with lentils and the tofu. While the spaghetti squash and lentil dish may not sound exciting, it is unquestionably delicious! I also have a gluten sensitivity and didn't have to ask for accommodations. The dishes are meant to share like tapas. Four to five dishes are perfect for two people with voracious appetites! More...
I had catering from gilt and it was really good! The people were extremely friendly to work with and they are EXTREMELY considerate about allergies/dietary restrictions. We were served chicken breast, vegan roasted vegetable medley, fritters, and salad! The chicken was very tender and seasoned well for its size. The portions are REALLY big too (it's literally a giant slab of chicken). The vegetable medley was also fantastic - there were different types of squashes, cauliflower, and everything was just so colourful and wholesome! Not to mention, they put pomegranate in their salad which I absolutely LOVE!I would definitely try out their in house restaurant experience some time. More...

I love Gilt! The food is amazing, the staff is great and the atmosphere is perfect!
The dishes are hit or miss. We liked the bone marrow and the pear dish but the duck confit and lamb frites were mediocre. A little bit on the expensive side. It was a good dining experience but the food didn't amaze me for the price. Probably would not be returning in the near future. More...

Delicious and beautifully crafted food. Get the bacon wrapped dates! You will not be disappointed
Brilliant tasting plate menu with a small but fantastic selection of beer. The wine list is one of the best in the city. Beautiful patio as well.
Great food, great prices and nice ambiance. I thought it was very good overall for lunch.

Great place for small plates and cocktails
A must try in downtown Kitchener
Phenomenal food, wonderful service, calming atmosphere, great company. Overall perfection!
Easter brunch was absolutely delicious and rich in flavours. Spicy Caesar's were great as well.
Queso Fresco & puffed potatoes - awesome,Coctails imaginative and really good, but the desserts were stupendous. Really really good desserts and i wish very much my town had a place like this with shareable tapas style desserts.
Unique selection of tapas, a welcome change from the standard roadhouse /pub fare in KW. Service is excellent, but don't come here if you're in a hurry. They stack up orders for a dish and make a batch at a time, so you will often wait a while between dishes. More...
Breakfast was FANTASTIC! It was surprising that the dining room wasn't packed. Excellent service, great, creative options.
Stunning food, and really different compared to most restaurants. Instead of everyone ordering their own meal, everyone orders together, (we had 8 dishes between 4 people and we were stuffed). Each dish is brought out one at a time, and just overwhelmingly delicious. Presentation and taste were honestly perfect in my opinion. Best dish: Potatoes (7$) , they were mixed with cheese, breaded slightly, and whipped. Dying to go back! More...
Full on awesome brunch with kids. Donuts and jam, great grilled club with raspberry compo deliciousness and as always best fries in town - all done with friendly chill vibe. Nice job.
No one ate better than our group on Saturday night. Our table of eight ordered a variety of dishes which flowed from the kitchen at a perfect pace. Despite our different dietary preferences, there was something for everyone. They paid special attention to a member of our group who was gluten-free by providing a separate, modified dish where appropriate. The best part may have been the Nitro ice cream, which included a demo in the kitchen and a brief science lesson with nitroglycerine. Did we end up licking some plates? Yes. More...

Wonderful, creative takes on food, with great service and ambience. I don't know why some reviews are negative. We are foodies from Toronto and really picky, and this place knocked our socks off.
I had a very nice meal at Gilt recently. They serve tapas/small plates to share and they do it well. The food was interesting and fun (scallops on hazelnut sponge cake, fried cheese curds, berry salad with picked crab apples were some of our dishes) and most importantly it tasted great. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. I won't hesitate to come back here. I might have rated it five stars, but they do that annoying, passive aggressive thing where the ONLY tip option on the card machine is 20%. I wanted to leave 18% for the great service (which, applied to the after tax amount IS OVER 20%, incidentally), but I don't like having to press a bunch of extra buttons and being made to feel like a cheapskate to do so. Maybe that comes off as picky and pretentious, but this is a restaurant review, after all... More...
Went there very early on a sunday night, we were the first customers. Service was fast and she gave us instructions on ordering tapas. Our selections were very good and tasty :-) -- we were outside. Compare to other tapas places the pricing is very good. ( price vs size). We willl be back! More...
Amazing food and service. Each plate is a masterpiece.... for the senses. IF you enjoy original food options and unique flavour profiles you will enjoy this. If you are a meat and potatoes kind of person ... this place will be lost on you. More...
The food is awesome. Perogies and chili relenos (sp?) are especially fantastic. Roasted cauliflower is great... So is the gnocchi... Not cheap, but well worth the money... I'd go every week if money was no object! No complaints about atmosphere or staff, but the food is the reason to go. Nitro ice cream is very pricey but a neat experience and the smoothest ice cream you'll ever have. More...
We've been here several times for dinner and brunch. Love the food here!
Very great atmosphere and super-friendly staff. I loved the lamb ribs! Will definitely come back for lunch or dinner.
Was a great night on Val's day
Great Place...food is flavorful and different than other restaurants around kitchener/waterloo.
I only go here for burgers on Friday for lunch. They're ten dollars and very good for the value. The atmosphere inside is calm and modern.
Came for lunch with a group. Ordered the Bacon Wrapped Dates to start. Was $9 for 5 really small pieces, but they were really appetizing. Had the Denver Lamb Ribs with Puffed Potatoes for $18 (doesn't seem to be on the online lunch menu). The 4 pieces of ribs came out really dry and thus there didn't seem to be much meat at all. The potatoes were really good though. I think I was just unlucky, as my colleagues all seemed to enjoy their meals. Left feeling pretty hungry. More...
Gilt is a nice upscale restaurant with a perfect menu. I would highly recommend it for a reasonably priced, fine dining experience.
Wonderful service, fantastic food and an elegant atmosphere. The perfect place for a romantic dinner or a large get together.
Great service, wonderful food. Beautiful patio seating
Great atmosphere and delicious food. It's a great place to come with your friends.
I've been to Gilt twice for dinner and once for lunch. It is always an excellent experience.
Fried cheese curds, potato puffs and brussel sprout caesar salad was amazing! Excellent vegetarian options available.
Thier food is on a different level, insanely delicious
Delicious!! The carrot, coconut, curry soup was the best thing I've ever tasted and the tuna tacos were to die for. Sat on the patio on a busy Friday and service was amazing. Will definitely be back.
Quiet environment, tasty food
Had an amazing brunch here! You've gotta try the chicken and waffles!
Had their spicy chicken waffles for brunch and oh my goodness it was amazing.
Interesting selection of food. Great service.
This is a lovely restaurant - nice ambiance and excellent food. The lobster bao buns and Nova Scotia scallops stand out.
After a slightly disappointing first experience, I decided to try this place again for my birthday and was impressed! Our server was really friendly and accommodating, from tweaking my drink to make it sweeter to upping the portions of our dishes to make them shareable for 5 people. We ordered 8 dishes to share amongst us and I really enjoyed most of them, although the fried cauliflower was a little bland. The rest were delicious, especially the pork belly pierogies, bacon wrapped dates, and lobster rolls! They also brought us out a complimentary dessert to share, which really made my birthday evening feel special.Atmosphere was great - the patio is a perfect spot to enjoy a nice day, while the inside of the restaurant feels upscale enough for a special occasion. Absolutely will come here again! More...
We were looking for an upscale restaurant locally, as we are out of towners and did not want to drive all the way to Toronto to experience the contemporary lounges. Found this place online and decided to give it a try. This is located in the heart of Kitchener downtown, where there se a lot of bars/lounges The hostess greeted us immediately upon arrival and showed us to our Table. The decor was very modern & stylish. Our server Josh was a delight! Extremely courteous and cordial he catered to all our needs and also made drinks according to our taste. We ordered few from the cocktail menu, and everything was so good! We ordered Be Elegant( I recommend it) Be bold and the gilded mule. The menu itself is tapas style and you would need to order few, which is great as its perfect for a group. Also, the best part is there are tons of vegetarian options! We ordered the fried cauliflower, fried cheese curds, string chaat and chiles rellenos. The food was fresh and very tasty with the perfect blend of spices. Josh took time to explain every dish as they came out. They even were able to whip up some delicious grilled cheese for the kids in our group. We ordered the creme brûlée and the portion size was great! Comes in white chocolate and dark chocolate strawberry flavor. Overall Gilt is a very chic & upscale place, combined with excellent customer service which makes it a great dining experience. Adds much needed class to local area! More...
I haven't been back for quite some time and My mouth waters thinking about the lobster rolls!
Exceptional food! Fantastic customer service. I have only amazing things to say about Gilt. I could not believe how fast our food came to our table and were waited on hand and foot. Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, amazing experience! Cant wait to go back again. My favourite was the puffed potatoes! My fiancé loved the pie in a jar and special Gin menu. AMAZING! A great shared-plate style menu with a ton of variety - there really is something for everyone. Staff are very helpful with recommendations and are very knowledgeable of the menu. Gilt would be perfect for a date, business meeting or just getting together with friends over great drinks and even better food. Do yourself a favour and get into Gilt ASAP. More...
Loved it! Beautiful inside. Hey, something open downtown Kitchener on a Sunday night other than a bar. Reminds me of Public. Looking forward to coming back!
Great food. Try the daily grilled cheese at lunch or tapas style dishes for dinner. We had the scallops, tuna nachos (must try!), brie and pear flatbread and Denver lamb ribs. Everything was delicious and the service/atmosphere was great! More...
I came here for brunch on the weekend and it was simply fantastic. It was pouring outside, so there were only a few other customers in the restaurant. The waitress didn't notice that we had came in and was very apologetic when we went in and asked to seat ourselves. We got some hot lemon water to warm up because we were pretty soaked from the rain, which was a nice touch. We ordered some bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer, which tasted delicious. There was a bit of heat inside the dates which went really well with the sweetness and smokiness of the bacon, which was crisped to perfection. I had the chicken waffles as my entree and couldn't have asked for anything more. The chicken was crispy with a touch of cumin, the waffles were fluffy, the maple syrup sauce was sweet, sticky, and spicy, and the candied bacon pretty much made it perfect. I didn't try the club that my friend got, but there was a healthy shaving of real Parmesan on her side salad, which looked promising. The portions were unexpectedly large and I thought warranted the price. The menu was inventive with exciting flavor combinations, something I can't say I've seen a lot around kw. I also enjoyed the modern decor and relaxed atmosphere. I wasn't sure how I felt about the partially open kitchen -- the cooking was neat to look at, but I'm not sure I needed to see the sink. Overall, fantastic experience here and will definitely go back to try out some other things on the menu. More...
I'd recommend trying this place based in their drink and food menu. I went on a Sunday night for a date and the place was neat empty which kinda killed the vibe. I loved my cocktails and neat everything I ate. Would go back for their Monday night girls night deal. Pricey. Menu style is similar to tapas, best to go and share a bunch of items. More...
I went here for brunch and thought this restaurant was fantastic. I ordered the pulled pork eggs benedict which was full of flavour. Plus, their plating is gorgeous!
Phenomenal food and service, I don't think you can pick a bad item on the menu. Friend the Korean fried chicken, the lobster rolls and the muscles, all were way above average.
I came in for brunch and had a good time. I had the Fried Brie, although it was a bit cold for my liking. I also had the Lobster Eggs Benedict, but they ran out of lobster, so it was replaced with crab, and it was just as good. Chicken Waffles were okay too. The prices were fair, and so were the portions. Service was fast, but the waitress did drop something from a dish onto my friend. More...
Gilt has an interesting concept and has quite a wide variety of foods. The idea is that the portions are smaller, but they're meant to be shared with you and your guests. For reference, my date and I had 5 dishes to split: the lamb carpaccio, Korean fried chicken, pear and brie flat bread, Chili rellenos, and the summer venison salami. Service was great, atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend the lamb carpaccio, but the experience was the best part. It's definitely a restaurant of a more intimate setting, so you'd have a lovely time with a date or drinks at the bar with a few close friends. They have quite an extensive drinks and wine list, and a pretty standard dessert menu. The dishes are on the pricier side, but they are unique and you're not likely to see any other restaurants cooking the same food. The service was also extremely friendly and attentive. Gilt is doing great for a newly opened restaurant! More...
Had a really great time here tonight!! The food was really well made and the menu items were all really unique. (We had pork belly perogies and venison summer sausage among other things) The atmosphere is really relaxed and the server was really personable and sweet. And the cocktail menu was the best I've ever seen in town. Can't wait to go back for more drinks and to try the foods I didn't get to try! I have nothing but good things to say, will be back for sure. More...
