We asked Georgina to do a family photoshoot for us because we rarely have photos with the entire family in. Georgina quickly established a good rapport with our children (aged 2 and 4 years) and the result was a really fun couple of hours where we hardly noticed the camera. The photoshoot with Georgina was such fun. We have 3 young boys and getting them to cooperate and all look in the same direction can be "challenging" to say the least. But Georgina managed to keep them all engaged, it turned into a fun family event that never felt staged or posed. The result/pictures are so lovely. I was very happy with the photo shoot Georgina did of my family. My 2.5 year old son was just getting over being sick and I had not been able to get him to nap and I almost cancelled since he was in such a terrible mood. It was a challenging shoot but Georgina was super sweet and patient and managed to take fantastic photos the few times he did smile. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Light is a huge factor is making sure you get the best portrait shot - I work with natural light mainly so I’m always looking for that perfect place to make sure we optimise the light we have.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
For Family photography my main question is where do you plan to display your portraits in your home. We all have so many pictures in our phones and computers but getting them hung on your walls at home or having them on display in an album means we can pass those memories down to generations of family members.
What do you love most about your job?
I love photography and capturing a moment in time which creates memories for years to come.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having children of my own meant I wanted to be able to have the best of both worlds - doing something that I love and bringing my kids up!
Why should our clients choose you?
Choosing a photographer that can put you and your children and ease and making a shoot fun is so important and, having 3 children of my own, I know how to quickly strike up a rapport to make sure we get those family memories captured. I love meeting new people and giving them a fun session that they’ll enjoy and treasure the memories captured during our shoot.
