I cannot recommend George Lathem enough! I have been to several counselors in my years some of which were a waste of time, but this one is a jewel, he will literally change your life for the better. I would have never thought my husband would have agreed to go with me to counseling, but here we are months later still attending and having a MUCH healthier and happier marriage thanks to George and our commitment to one another. I am so fortunate to have found a counselor who could easily charge 3 or 4 times what he does, because of the quality of service he provides. He responds quickly to appt requests, is flexible to your schedule and genuinely loves his work. What do you love most about your job?
Having helped so many couples come back from the brink of divorce, I have found this work to be the most important and gratifying.
To help keep families together and giving couples the tools to grow is a real honor.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I began doing this work when I realized the dilemma facing the marriage counseling industry, that being the unwillingness of so many therapists to encourage couples to stay together and work through their issues. Far too many are far to eager to recommend divorce. The divorce rate remains way to high and counselors are often part of the problem.
Why should our clients choose you?
Clients like how direct I am and how practical I am with my approach. I practice solutions based therapy, where the couples are given individual actions and responsibilities, along with the resources to learn how to perform the actions. They are then held accountable for those responsibilities in subsequent sessions. I am not afraid to tell my clients exactly what they need to do, regardless of how receptive they may or may not be to hearing it.
