Not being very computer savvy I found myself in a bit of a pickle when my laptop decided to die on me. I found Genmar through Google and gave them a ring. My business critical iMac decided to go slow and then ultimately die during the busiest week of the month for me - I work to a 3 tight deadlines!
Trying not to panic I rang Genmar and spoke to Dean who was a panacea for my fraught nerves! Having gone through a few quick checks he reassured me that they would be able to find the problem and address it quickly for me, I just needed to bring it into the workshop. I'm in Harlow and even though their workshop is in Stortford, it was less than 20 mins drive and very easy to get to and park (a god send with with such a large (27") Mac!).
True to his word he subsequently kept me informed of progress throughout the day, culminating in the "we've found the problem (hard drive) and it's gonna be OK - we're restoring data now and it will be ready for you tomorrow morning". What can I say, fearing that I had lost everything (I do backup to the cloud but I realised that it had not been backing up my email - the driver of my business!) to say I was ecstatic was an understatement. A huge, ney MEGA huge relief!!
I picked the machine up mid morning from James, who was very helpful too! Should just add, they don't just fix things they sell them too - bagged myself an external hard drive so that I now have TWO backups (when it's business critical you can NEVER be too careful!).
So thank you Team Genmar, you were awesome. No hesitation in recommending you guys to anyone and everyone - really professional, great workshop environment (although it could do with air conditioning ;-)) - you really know your stuff! Thank you!

Was recommended Genmar when I was on the hunt for a new personal laptop or a fix for my old one. Being a complete technophobe I was worried I'd be confused but the guys took the time to help me understand what was wrong with my old system and then talk me through my requirements for a new one - even saving me money when I believed I needed to buy a popular brand of system when in fact, there was a freebie available to suit my needs.

Ended up choosing to purchase a refurbished laptop which they uploaded all the software I would need to and got a call this morning to say I could pick it up. I'm now writing this review on it and I couldn't be happier with the service I have received so far and I am confident, should I need them, they will be on hand to assist again. Fabulous end to end service that I highly recommend.

Went to Genmar for first time last week - daughter suggested it. I am probably the most least IT knowledgeable person ever - so not my thing - so not something I was looking forward to doing, but I was not made to feel 'embarrassed' by this. We had been trying to buy a new laptop for the last year and after finding the large stores unhelpful a friend recommended Genmar. We visited last Saturday and were soon in the capable hands of the extremely knowledgeable, polite and patient Dean.
What a star he proved to be! He soon found us the ideal new laptop and explained how if we took in our old one he would transfer everything onto the new one - this had been our greatest worry. We went back late afternoon today after taking our old one in this morning and everything had been transferred with no problems. He then spent some time explaining everything about the new laptop to us and answered our many questions patiently - he is absolutely brilliant and we cannot thank him enough. I needed an unmanaged switch for immediate collection and was in Bishops Stortford. Genmar had the larger switches in stock. Lots of parking outside and served quickly. Switch was Netgear with internal power supply. They also do PC / Laptop & mobile phone / Tablet Repairs on site. Staff were very knowledgeable. More...
