My husband was craving something sweet but also breakfast late in the afternoon. We were driving by and saw Gelato Brothers. We had looked at the menu in the past so we knew they had waffles. We had our dog with us so I stayed in the car with her while he went in. They let us know their patio was pet friendly and even offered us a 'pup cup' for her. Despite it being a very hot day, we were comfortable on the shaded patio. My husband got a waffle with fresh strawberries and vegan raspberry sorbet. He also got an iced coffee with almond milk. He loved both. I tried the sorbet and thought it was very refreshing. I especially love that they are vegan friendly, have WiFi and are open late (rare on this side of town). Great atmosphere. Got 2 scoops of dark chocolate in a waffle cone. I've been going to this ice cream shop, taking my family, since it opened. It's good quality ice cream, healthier than the alternative. And the coffee if good as well. I regularly buy it by the bag to brew at home. I'm surprised of the complainers. Perhaps they don't like the cost. But you get what you pay for. And customers are quicker to note a complaint online than a compliment as I've experienced that with my own business. If you are looking for good quality, this is the place for you. More...

What a cute little gelato shop with delicious gelato! The waffle cones are definitely homemade and delicious. I like the decor and thought it was fun and fresh. Words cannot describe how much I LOVE this place! I had never tried gelato before coming here a few weeks ago. My mom swears by this place. The Mango and raspberry are my favorite and my moms is the salted caramel. I love how the place is set up and it's just so cute! I like how you guys have the tables set up to make people interact, wonderful idea!!! I'd love to work here but I'm afraid I'd eat all of the gelato haha. Anyways this is a GREAT local place! What the heck is this divine little gelato cafe doing in these tourist-free foothills of Appalachia? How did we get so lucky? After lugging my 19 month-old into town in near 90° heat only to discover that Jesus frowns upon serving ice cream on Sundays, then checking yelp for a miracle and finding one, driving 8 minutes down road, and turning into a yellowed strip mall that I had assumed sold items for contractors, I was skeptical. That is, until I saw the shining white storefront and pristine patio filled with blossoming planters. As I peeled my sweaty little one out of the car I heard music pumping out over the patio. "Oh dear lord God, please do not let it be Christian Rock. A woman can only stand so much monotonous music." I was pleased to discover that they were playing contemporary music, and shocked that I knew the words well enough to sing the hooks to the sprout. "How do I, as an aging punk rocker, even know these lyrics? This is not on rotation on NPR." While that remained a mystery, the cafe revealed numerous delights.The first thing I noticed as I walked inside was how polished, open, and clean the space was, both in front of the counter and beyond. The surfaces were all flat and easy to clean. The design of the shop was simplified while comfortable and inviting. The next thing I noticed made my heart sing. One of the signs of a super clean, and slightly OCD chef is an abundance of printed labels. This was present in the shop. Catchily phrased stickers on the edge of the tables indicated the presence of purse hooks. A sign on the single, gender neutral bathroom indicated that it was free to all as long as one at least sampled the Gelato (for free) first. My favorite label was on the tall highchair: #BabyBroChair. With so many indicators of a cleanly proprietor, I knew my belly and family would be safe from food born illness. But you are probably here to read about the gelato and coffee, am I right? We had the dark chocolate gelato, and raspberry sorbetto. Each came with a round waffle cone-esque cookie garnish. I was delighted with the taste, texture and dare I say crispness of both. As a citizen born abroad who has also lived walking distance from the gelato shops of the North End of Boston, my recommendation is not haphazard. The Gelato. It is. Delish. Perfect for a hot day. Maybe even perfect in the middle of a blizzard. My vanilla latte was what I hoped for but dared not expect. The beans and the barista were both strong performers. When I first arrived, there was only one young woman working the register and making food. As more people streamed in I got nervous, as at another local cafe, this would cause service to come to an abrupt halt. I did not want to wait 20 minutes for my laté, and I did not have to. She was a solid multi-tasker, barista, and communicator. She made our gelato cups while a waffle cooked for the customers in line ahead of us, then brought my late out within minutes, all while shuffling more and more customers and their orders at an efficient pace.There was nothing about this shop that did not impress me. We visited last night, for the first time, and everything was amazing. My favorite flavor of the evening was the Blackberry Sorbetto. The inside could use a bit more seating because they were busy (which is a good thing), so cards on the tabletops encourage you to share tables with strangers to make new friends. I also enjoyed having the option to charge my phone with outlets next to some of the tables providing charging cables. The decor is bright and inviting, very friendly staff. I'm looking forward to visiting again to try their coffee and different flavors of gelato. We will be back soon! More...
