I cannot say enough good things about Gary! To start with, we did our engagement shoot with Gary. It was a great way for him to get to know my husband and I before the wedding day. He was open to doing anything we wanted and gave the BEST suggestions for our favorite shots. Now that engagement shoot was so much fun but he blew us out of the water for the wedding day. From the moment he started the day with us it was non stop for him! From taking individual shoots and making both of us feel beautiful/ handsome to organizing our rather large wedding party for the bridal party shoots, he was on top of it! WE LOVED HAVING GARY FOR OUR PHOTOGRAPHER! After seeing all of Gary's beautiful photos for other weddings, as well as meeting with him, we knew he was the one vendor after booking that we didn't need to worry about - and that held true on our wedding day! Gary and his second photographer Allie Bennett were amazing. They showed up on time, and not only were extremely professional, but also had this great energy about them that made having them a part of your day a true pleasure! Gary was the absolute BEST. He's so nice--a real joy to be around--and a total professional. We had a Halloween wedding, and I didn't want zillions of posed photos that looked too formal for the fun setting. The fam squeezed a bunch out of us, but what I really wanted Gary to focus on were the candid, spontaneous shots. The wedding night itself keeps you busy--circling the people, dancing 'til your feet ache, occasionally hiding from everyone--so I had no idea what to expect from the photos; I'd really stopped paying attention to when they were being taken. I cannot say enough about Gary's work. To sum: he's professional, responsive, affordable, and produces excellent work.

Gary shot our January 2016 wedding in the Riviera Maya section of Quintana Roo, Mexico on the Yucatan (right outside of Cancun). We were blessed to have perfect weather the day before the wedding and Gary's (and his great assistant Allison's) first assignment was to shoot the beachside cocktail party. This came with a fair share of challenges as it was certainly on the darker side and I'm sure was difficult to shoot, but this made no difference in the outcome of the pictures. He certainly is a great technical photographer. But more than this is the amount of detail that was captured in the photos. He is a photographer with a very keen eye for what makes a moment special. Gary didn't seem to miss anything - the times that people saw each other and were reunited, moments caught when one reflects at the beauty of the landscape, the energy of children, etc....

On day 2, Gary shot the wedding ceremony and the clouds came in right after. He was forced to get creative as he knew that we were crunched for time before it started pouring and wanted to make sure that they took advantage of the surreal backdrop. The pictures speak for themselves (WOW, check them out - "Laura and Jeff" on Gary's blog). What impressed me is that Gary went out of his way to get the shots, he was assertive (but NEVER, EVER aggressive) and made very sensible, creative suggestions. After the rain came in, we shot the rest indoors and it was clear that he knew that he had vision for the shots. We can't say this enough, we were impressed with Gary's attention to detail.

Last, this is a person that you want to hang around. He's funny, energetic, flexible, and patient. All the things that we needed! Gary edited the final photos in a very timely manner and got them to us before we expected. Highly Recommended! More...

My husband and I had Gary Nevitt for our Fall wedding. He was professional, knowledgeable of Philadelphia and thorough the day of the wedding and leading up to it. Our family is a little complex but he made sure to fully understand the members and took all necessary shots the day of the wedding. He brought another fantastic shooting assistant with him that day (Blonnie). Extremely artistic and fun to shoot with for the staged shots. For the ceremony and reception, they were unobtrusive (in a good way! I didn't want to have to walk around photographers when walking down the aisle!) - but whenever something important was happening and needed to be photographically documented, they were there! Gary is AMAZING!!!!! He just did our wedding at the Sofitel on 9/6. His creativity is truly a work of art. We did an engagement session with him a few months ago to get a feel for him and taking pictures. My now husband was a bit reluctant to do it, but Gary assured him he would end up enjoying it! Gary is an AMAZING photographer with a keen eye for details. I researched months to try and find the perfect photographer as this was something that was important to both my husband and I. We wanted something natural but also pictures that had some flair to them. I wanted to say “Wow! That’s an amazing picture or that is such a cool picture.” And Gary did not disappoint. Our pictures are some of the most amazing pieces of work we've ever seen. Yes, we look like us, but seriously, they are magazine worthy. One of my friends said one of the pictures should be on the cover of the Vogue Wedding issue. My family loved Gary and his secondary shooter (Laura Caporizzo). They were professional and a lot of fun. My husband Tim and I were thrilled with our choice of Gary Nevitt Photography for our June 2013 wedding. Gary had photographed our friends' wedding and we were impressed with the way he directed the bridal party and his photos were our favorite among all of our friends' weddings. We planned our wedding at the Glen Foerd Mansion, a grand and gorgeous 1850s mansion on the Delaware river, and needed someone who could not only handle our bridal party and families, but we wanted someone who could really capture the beauty of our venue. Gary and his assistant Laura were incredible and were so kind to our guests and family, particularly my 92 year old grandmother and my husband's 2 year old nephew and 5 year old niece. Our families, bridal party, and guests all commented on how pleasant, kind, and patient Gary was. I could tell he loved our venue as much as we did and his enthusiasm for our day added to our overall wonderful experience of our wedding. We were thrilled with our photos when we got them and have enjoyed sharing them with family and friends over the past few months. Gary was my photographer for our wedding. He was AMAZING! From our first conversation on the phone, I knew he was going to be perfect. He is professional, fun, and so talented! My husband and I are super awkward in front of a camera and Gary made it less awkward and even fun. We had a great e-session in Philly and an even more amazing time at the wedding. You will not find a better photographer than Gary! He genuinely cares about the work that he does and is so creative and talented! All of the photos came out beautifully, and there are some truly amazing shots that I don't think anyone else would have thought to create! On the wedding day, Gary was so calm and patient and really made us feel at ease. He was a ton of fun to work with, and my entire bridal party loved him! Afterward, he got the photos to us so quickly and was very responsive to our requests for the wedding album, which is also gorgeous! From our first meeting to the day of our wedding, Gary was amazing to work with! He was flexible with his pricing and answered any concerns/questions we had. I wanted a photographer with some artistic edge but still used the natural surroundings to bring the photo to life. He made the best out of our engagement session after the location I wanted to do it in-- was closed that day. I was bummed but he took the surroundings and turned all of our photographs into moments of art that truly embodied the interaction my husband and I share. Loved our wedding photographer. I explained that i wanted modern, colorful pictures and he truly listened. He worked with us when we made shot suggestions and sat on the bar at our venue but also pulled us together to get great shots we could never even think of. A bulk of our pictures were indoors and he definitely overcame that challenge and got really creative too. I was so lucky to have had Gary as my wedding photographer! Not only is he an exceptional photographer, but he's a wonderful person. He really takes pride and time into getting to know his clients and understanding them as individuals and as a couple. You feel completely at ease with him, and know that what he will capture is amazing. So many of my bridesmaids (who have been bridesmaids several times before me) said how easy he was to work, and how he remembered everyone's name! (I had 11 bridesmaids!). I am not thrilled about having my picture taken, and I definitely don't like to pose for pictures. I also didn't want to miss ANY of my wedding reception. Needless to say, I did not make things easy for Gary. He's either the most understanding photographer in the world or a great actor, because he made me feel like I was completely reasonable and easy to work with! We had a non-traditional wedding party, and Gary was able to capture all the key people I wanted to have in the posed pictures, plus a very largest family picture with cousins, aunts, uncles etc. He also got some great pictures of my husband and I in various settings capturing the beautiful, historical architecture of Philadelphia. The best part, he did this in the 30 minutes of allotted time I gave him. I told you I wasn't easy to work with. We could not have been happier with our choice to have Gary document our special day. He is extremely professional with an awesome sense of humor and an eye for “that special shot”. Actually, every shot seemed to be “that special shot” and it only got better and better as the day went on. I was referred to Gary from another photographer friend of mine. We met with him a year and a half before our wedding date and we all hit it off right from the first meeting. Gary is our photographer for LIFE! He's done our wedding, our pregnancy pics, and our son's first birthday pictures - his aesthetic touch CANNOT be beat! We originally reached out to Gary after reaching incessant heartbreak with other photographers - all they were interested in was 'cookie cutter' variants, giving us NO flexibility to forge our memorable day as we saw fit. We hired Gary back in April 2012. We met at a restaurant for some drinks and hit it off. You need to "click" with your photographer. It was important to me that I did. I met with several photographers but Gary took the cake with his ideas and passion. I literally tracked him down from pictures I saw of another bride on facebook. He had moved from the original studio that took her pictures and went into business for himself. In the end, it was totally worth the extra effort!

Gary is a fabulous eye for those "once in a lifetime moments" that he captures with ease. He has and undeniable PASSION for photography and truly loves what he does. It comes through in his work and his unique dramatic images.
