Have visited several times with friends and most recently this November with my family. Also use it for takeaways. Really friendly, helpful staff, reasonably priced local Indian restaurant with good menu and very tasty food. Plenty of vegitarian choice.

Had a delicious birthday dinner with my vegetarian son and his grandmother who claims she can't eat spicy food. We all ordered different things and were all more than happy with our meals. Best garlic naan I've had for years! It was very quiet, being a Monday night, but the service was excellent. Prices are acceptable given the quality and variety of dishes available, many of which were new to meThe couple behind us complained to the waiter that the portions were small and a person who I suppose was the manager came out to address the customers' concern. We all felt that the portions were perfectly adequate; I couldn't finish my main course, delicious though it was.Definitely on my list of restaurants to return to, and it's just across the road from a large supermarket which is handy given the difficulty of street parking in Bristol. Great flavours, with some good additions to the usual favourites. We loved the Meen Malabari, a crispy fish bite starter - the Lamb Jalfrezi and Goan Fish Masala were both excellent.

As I come from the same place as this restaurants origin, worldwide famous for authentic biryani and spices, I can easily say what is authentic and what is namesake. A very fine restaurant that prides on purveying authentic South Indian curries in Bristol. Friendly staff, good ambient spotlit dining. Walls are filled with traditional Indian art, Idols and atmosphere. Food is a tad pricey but fair for plethora of excellent dishes to choose from. Vegetarian friendly and halal procured meat. Collection is a bit less than eat-in. Visiting again and again! More...

Honestly a must go to place. The food was amazing, the curries tasted amazing and the meat was cooked more than perfect. The rest the food was cooked perfectly as well but the meat was melt in the mouth. To top it all off, the service was great and would not fault anything. 5* and will go again. More...

On the way to a gig at The Fiddlers and all three of us were very hungry. Bound to be somewhere we could sit down and enjoy a meal in Bedminster we thought. And Ganesha was the first restaurant we came to. We wasn't disappointed either. Friendly staff & service with a smile. All three meals were delicious and the chutneys with the poppadoms were full of flavour. I would definitely recommend a visit here. More...

We enjoyed Ganesha. The dosas were excellent, and the service was so kind and attentive without being overwhelming. Each dish was well-prepared and we were surprised how much we enjoyed our visit at the end. It was such a peaceful, pleasant meal, and afterward we were off to discover a bit more of Bristol! More...

What’s your signature dish?
TYPICAL DISHES INCLUDE
Masala Dosa (Starter) - An enormous triangle of lacy-edged pancake sealed at the edges, it contained a hot filling of mustard seed-speckled potato bhaji in the centre. Apparently, this is a popular breakfast dish in India and it would undoubtedly set you up for the day, especially with the delicious coconut chutney and sambhar (a sauce made with dal, curry leaves, tamarind and about eight different spices). It would certainly give you more of a glow than Ready Brek.
Sheek Gilafi Kebab (Starter) - Thick, juicy kebabs of lamb mince flavoured with ginger, coriander and spices, it was served with a soothing minty yoghurt dip.
Bhagara prawns (Starter) - King prawns marinated in ginger, garlic and spices before being fried in a light batter and scattered with fresh coriander.
Murg Makhani (Main Course) - Boneless chicken Tikka pieces cooked in a rich creamy sauce.
Gosht Dahiwala (Main Course) - Boneless tender lamb pieces marinated in yoghurt and then cooked in a Hyderabadi style spices.
Gosht Nilgiri (Main Course) - Tender chunks of lamb immersed in a thick green/grey sauce of mint, coriander and spices – one of Ganesha’s best-sellers.
Kozhi Varutha Curry (Main Course) – A medium/hot dish of chicken in a smooth, subtly spiced curry of tomatoes, onion, herbs and curry leaves. A traditional Kerala curry, it had some heat but not enough to mop the brow.
Bhagara Baigan (Side Dish) - Aubergines cooked in a peanut and thick onion tomato sauce.
