The short story: Galaxy is good, but make sure you ask for Bernadette as your sales rep for smooth sailing!Starting with the good: 5 stars for Bernadette, our customer service rep! She came out to show us everything available and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with both our selections and budget. She is a wealth of knowledge, and super nice too. She came to our home at least five times throughout the process to check on progress and make sure we were happy with everything. Thanks for working with us, Bernie, you're the best!Ok, the not so good: 5 stars for Galaxy's options but 3 for their installation. Galaxy sent the wrong part for installation twice, and it was only when Bernadette got on their case that we got what we needed (though to be fair, initial installation was still a bit ahead of schedule). The installation process itself was smooth and the results are good, but there are a couple of spots (out of 20+ windows) where things could have been installed better. Again, when we mentioned this, it took Bernadette's practiced eye (and communication with Galaxy's team) to get them to come back and fix stuff. She really helped us get our home looking nice. We will go with Galaxy for an upgrade eventually, and it will be thanks to her! More...

Cynthia has a special talent for knowing what you are looking for.  She helped me with a couple of long windows in my family room.  I thought I needed to go with curtains, but she showed me wood blinds that have made the room finally look finished.  From there, she showed me a different way to approach a large window in my living room.  With beautiful shades to block out the sunlight to drapes that framed the shades on either side.  I wanted a subtle Asian feel and she knew exactly what would look best.  I am so grateful for all of her help.  Cynthia is the consummate professional. We had reached Galaxy Draperies through Costco and they were very professional from the get go. We set up an appointment with Cynthia, and we hit it off right away. She is very social, easy to talk to, and full of positive energy. She helped us pick out nice blinds that fit our budget and was honest enough to advise us against some of the more expensive options because she said they would not meet our needs given our budget. Who does that these days?!?!? Most sales reps try to sell you the most expensive products because of higher commissions. I had three custom cellular shades put into my house. I'm beyond happy. Cynthia was an absolute pleasure to work with and helped me figure out what the best looking and most practical option was for my space. They put in temporary shades while the order was in production and the shades even came in a bit earlier than planned which was a nice surprise. We needed curtains and blinds for our  home - 20+ Windows, 5 motorized shades, and 2 curtains.  I happened upon Galaxy Draperies through Costco and happened to have incredible luck and got Katty McQueen. She has bent over backwards to find us curtains and shades. She drove to Pasadena and Sherman Oaks to make it easy for me to meet. She came prepared with samples already tagged based on my style and price range. She was onsite when the installer was there to make sure things went well. We had several issues with the wrong color getting installed in our skylights or needing to replace manufacturer's defects (crinkling on the bottom of the shades). Katty took care of everything. ***Silke Solomon is awesome!***The five star rating is for Silke!!! She is by far the best window covering Consultant I have ever met. She presented options with professionalism and honesty, while preserving the integrity of my craftsman home.  10 days later I was scheduled a visit by the installer to double check all the measurements. Main problem was the salespersons did not seem to know what the heck they were talking about and do not dare ask a challenging question. Well along comes Silke Solomon. We had called for someone to come visit us from Galaxy Draperies and Awnings. Not only did she meet every question with the right answer she was extremely helpful in offering her positive points of views to the various types / styles of awnings based on her experience. I've recommended Galaxy Draperies to several friends. After moving into a condominium with many sliders and large windows, I knew I couldn't handle the window treatments myself. COSTCO fortunately referred me to Galaxy. With Bernadette's assistance, I initially ordered a slide -vue vertical cellular shade for our bedroom, which provides privacy and helped with temperature control as all the windows and sliders were single-paned glass. I then decided on four bottom-up, top-down cellular shades for the den and the other bedroom. It's great to be able to let light in at the top, while providing privacy at the bottom. Bernadette made great color suggestions for all the cellular products, coordinating with the carpeting in the bedroom and the paneling in the den. Recently, we had the kitchen remodeled, so I contacted Galaxy again. This time Bernadette suggested a light filtering roller shade, which I absolutely love. It provides privacy while allowing light into the room, which is needed as there is only one window. I am going to continue to recommend Galaxy, and Bernadette, to my family and friends. I've been looking at different places to replace my old blinds but I couldn't get the right people or prices..  one day I decided to give COSTCO draperies a try.  Galaxy Draperies's able to fit me into their schedule.  I was  happy that they sent Silke Solomon to my house.   Even though it was latte in the day, she showed up with a very happy and pleasant personality!  Right away she got to work and showed me exactly what we liked ... I could tell she was  experienced and efficient.  She made it easy to get right to what we needed, the right fit for our house and our budget. Huge shout out to Galaxy Draperies and Bernadette    Barreras!! I have such appreciation for their expertise, professionalism, and patience with me in accommodating my needs. It was so nice to see such a variety of options to choose from. Bernadette went above and beyond educating me on SunSetter products and all other products and features so i could make an informed decision. We ultimately had the 10 foot retractable awning installed this spring and we absolutely love it!  What a difference having the awning shading that hot afternoon Santa Clarita sun. We no longer have to cover our sliding glass door with the indoor blind and shut the world out until sunset. The quality and convenience of the remote feature is exactly what I had wished for. I got my wish and love the awning!! I highly recommended this company...the knowledgeable sales and service staff, the friendly and efficient installers, and the follow up calls just to make sure all is well really shows what a class act company that Galaxy Draperies is!! I recently got new window treatments in my kitchen and small den. There were two regular windows and two smaller windows on two doors that open into my kitchen. In the den I have a slider and a larger window that is probably 4 by 6. I found my consultant Stephen to be very helpful and knowledgeable about all the product lines and different price points of Galaxy's window treatments. He was also very available  if I had any questions or concerns. The installer really knew his job and was quick and efficient.  The only reason I'm giving a 4 out of 5 stars is because the factory didn't include 2 rods to open and close blinds and 2 sets of hardware that keep the blinds on my doors in place so they don't slap against the doors when you open and close them. When we first moved into our new house, I went to Home Depot and bought those disposable window coverings and pasted them on the windows of our brand new Cape Cod style home hoping that would suffice as "luxurious" shades.  Alas my wife, had different ideas for our house.  Having never shopped for window coverings before and needing to cover all of the windows in our house, it was a pretty difficult and eye-opening process. We actually met with about 5 different vendors who gave us all kinds of crazy design ideas and varying prices.  We didn't feel comfortable with any of them for such a big purchase.  Then one day I was in Costco and I thought to myself "I love Costco, so let's see who they trust to do windows".  So we finally met Galaxy Draperies and their representative Matt Baker.  Let me start by saying that Matt is amazing.  He is super nice, professional, not pushy, and most importantly has a great eye for interior design.  He met with us a number of times to go over design ideas and pick everything from the different fabrics for our curtains to the specific rod metals and finials that we wanted (yes, I now know what finials are).  He went out of his way to find the exact pieces we wanted even if they were not available in his warehouse .  He also made great suggestions for our kitchen and living room with the Silhouettes that we had installed.  He was with us every step along the way from design to installation and we could not have been happier with our results.  All of the people that work there, from the installers the to the office people, have been great as well.  Galaxy's pricing is competitive and the bonus Costco gift card for members is helpful too.  We joke that there was one company who wanted us to cut into our brand new house's walls and crown molding in order to install what they thought would look good and how much of a disaster that would have been.  Thank goodness we found Galaxy!Getting window coverings for the whole house is not a cheap or easy endeavor but we want to say thank you to Matt and Galaxy Draperies for making the experience of buying window coverings an amazing one.
