I used to go to G Street when I worked in the area years ago. I had forgotten about this lunch spot because I just don't walk this way anymore. One day it hit me that I need to go back there and I asked my coworkers for days to come with me. About a week later somebody was finally intrigued enough to come with me. We enjoyed our dishes and showed another coworker. That coworker then decided to go back with me and he ordered 3 dishes in his 1st try. As he sat across from me at the lunch table and consumed to of those dishes at once he proclaimed that this would be his new perminent place. Since then I have been requested to plan his wedding to G street. Needless to say me and my entire office love the variety and the quality of the meals at this not so hidden treasure! More...

I had a cheesesteak and fries. Pretty good on a cold day. Was interested in a side salad but was informed it is only lettuce. Best friend had ham and Brie- it was cold and a pretty basic sandwich ($16 price tag though). Overall a decent place to eat but not my favorite in the area. More...

Great food. The Kentucky is a fantastic fried chicken sandwich and both curries are so very comforting on cold winter days.

Been going here ever since their name made sense (before they moved from G st). The Mediterranean and chicken chermoula are personal faves, with the Katsu sandwich being a distant third purely because I can never remember its name. Local treasure, in my book. Like going to a food truck that is (a) not outside, (b) immobile/accountable to health inspection authorities, and (c) always in the same location. I mean, other than that time it moved... More...

I was in the mood for a diner breakfast. You know... eggs, seasoned homefries, and toast with jelly. I'm not too familiar with places to eat downtown so I found this place through Google maps. The place is nice and spacious. Upon entering, there is a menu board to the right. There's a big selection of omelets. So I ordered the Spinach omelet with homefries and wheat toast. The omlete was great. Nice and fluffy with a good amount of provolone cheese and spinach. The "homefries" were anything but. The fries were deep fried like they were making french fried and tossed in grilled peppers and onions. They were bite sized for a toddler. I like traditional chunky homefries. They also do catering and the platters I saw for pick up looked pretty good. I came here around 8:30 and the place is nice and quiet. So I would probably eat here again but it wouldn't be my first choice. More...

Was in DC on business and looking for a quick bite.   GStreet was close and the reviews were good.   Cool place with an interesting concept.   There was a lot of variety on the menu but the cheesesteak caught my eye.   The sandwich was done well and I enjoyed it.  Good flavor and the portion was good.  I also got fries with it and again they were cooked to perfection.  Service was quick and I really like the industrial look of the place.   I got here before the lunch rush but it was soon packed.    Wish I was closer as I would come here often. I love this place so much. After spending my entire summer eating lunch here I feel the need to leave a review and just let the world know how great it is. They have reasonably priced, delicious food and they have a wide variety of it as well. I've been using the Ritual app to order lunch near my office so I can get in and out quickly.  I visited G Street Food today for the first time and ordered the bulgogi kimchi quesadilla. It was very tasty, a huge portion (enough for leftovers for tomorrow's lunch - yay!) and came with a good portion of guacamole and salsa.  I am happy to have found this place and will be exploring more of their lunch menu in the future. My G Street Food review is for both the restaurant and their catering services Restaurant: I didn't know that G Street had a restaurant and close to my work! A couple of colleagues and I went for lunch and we were not disappointed. It was rather busy and we lucked out with a table on the upper level for our big group. I got the Thai chicken skewers with the peanut sauce and it was delicious. The sauce was sweet and went perfectly with the the rice and veggies. The service was great. Now that I know the restaurant exists, I'll be visiting more often! Catering: G Street is my go-to catering option when I order for work. I usually put in orders for over 30 people and they have never been wrong. Everything is always delivered early (not on time, but early) and is fresh. I've never had a bad experience with them and I've gone as far to send complicated orders with various dietary restrictions. They're my go-to option. You should try their boxed lunches if you're catering for a large work meeting! More...

One of my favorite lunch spots! Their menu mostly consists of sandwiches, and then some other rice-based dishes, curries, burgers, quesadillas, and other random stuff ("globally inspired street food" is what I believe they coin their fare). I go for the sandwiches; can't really say I've had a bad one there. They have one of the best tasting Bahn Mi sandwiches that I've found in the downtown area. Their Kentucky and Italian sandwiches are also favorites of mine too. Fantastic fries too!My only two complaints are the price and service. For a simple sandwich, it's pretty expensive. You're going to be hard pressed to walk out of there without spending at least 10 dollars on one, and then it's more if you get a curry or platter instead. I'm glad they have a deal to add fries to any entree for just a dollar, but still, I could go over to Potbelly, Pret, or even Subway and get a sandwich that's only slightly less good for 4 bucks less. Service can be kind of lackluster when it's busy too. I've had times where I've stood there for 15+ minutes waiting for them to call out my order. For whatever reason whenever it's busy, their system of keeping track of orders seems to flounder as my order gets lost like 1/5 times I show up on a busy day, which means I wait even longer to get my food.Luckily it's tasty, so I don't mind too much, but I would eat here every day if it wasn't quite so pricey. Not sure why that guy said "complaints about food and service". Food was great and the price was right!!! A salmon omlette for $6. 95? In D.C. that is unheard of, and unlikely most other places. And the salmon was plentiful. 2 thumbs up! Ok, when we went, the young lady at the counter wasn't super peppy, but she wasn't rude. And the interaction is so brief, any bad vibes should be cured by the awesome tasting food. Unless you walked in the door with them... More...

I come here every once in a while whenever G Street Food offers Curry or Halal Lamb and Chicken as their MealPal selections. Food is decent - nothing too special. The reason I come back is that this place, unlike other places that offer MealPal, does not skimp on the food. I always feel full after eating their meals. 3.5 stars, but round up because with MealPal, it's cheap. More...
