I can't tell you how amazing Heather was to work with. From the moment we met her, I was so impressed with how professional and creative she was! Heather took both our engagement photos and our wedding photos and made us feel such ease . We had never taken professional photos together as a couple and during our engagement photos, she really just made us feel comfortable and knew all of the right angles and spots for our shots. On the wedding day, Heather was literally running the show and made sure we got all of the shots on our shot list. I'm not kidding when I say all of my bridesmaids said Heather was the best photographer they had ever seen (and that's saying alot!), she just knew when to wrangle everyone and knew the exact moments to be capturing. When we got our wedding photos back, I burst into tears as the photos were just absolutely gorgeous. She is unbelievable with capturing photos using natural light. I am going to treasure them forever and I am so thankful I found Heather. If you are considering working with her, don't consider, just do it! We hired Heather for our wedding this March and I am so happy that we found her!!!
We got married at Vizcaya and it was important to me to hire a photographer who had worked there before.
Heather knew all the best spots on the property and made sure we got a nice variety of photos.
Not only did we get amazing photos, but Heather is also such a pleasure to work with! She is a very nice and easygoing person! Someone once said in a review that Heather was like a "photo ninja" and I couldn't agree more! She was everywhere and got photos that I didn't even realize she took! Not only did we get great photos of ourselves, but she also took lots of photos of our guests, which I know they will all be thrilled about! :)
The turnaround time for our photos was AMAZING!! Within one day Heather sent a few preview photos, and had the rest of our photos to us within less than a week of the wedding!! That's unheard of!!! Not only did we get the photos back quickly but they were of exceptional quality! They truly took our breath away!
I would definitely recommend Heather Funk to anyone looking for a photographer. You will not be disappointed!!!

Heather is an incredible photographer!! She is so professional, kind, and amazing at capturing special moments in the most breathtaking way. HEATHER has got it TOGETHER! She photographed my son's wedding on a lovely November 2017 afternoon. Upon greeting her at the church moments before the ceremony began, among Heather's first words to me were "the light is great! ". At that moment, I knew we were in store for beautiful and romantic photos. I was right! Heather has a way of using natural light to the fullest potential. Although both the ceremony and reception were held indoors, Heather made sure to incorporate natural light in her photography. She captured each element of the ceremony as well as lots of details and candids! At the reception's historic site, Heather made sure to take some shots of the couple which I had requested, and later whisked the wedding party outside to take advantage of the beautiful day! Heather's turnaround time was very speedy! We received them so quickly, that my son and his wife were able to give the family framed enlargements as Christmas gifts. Even the local photo print shop employee was stunned at how quickly we received the images. Not only did Heather provide us with beautifully edited images on a jump drive along with an online shareable gallery (of the same), she also provided me with all of the RAW images straight off of her camera card! I even received a little Lightroom tutorial from Heather at her home, while her young daughters cooked dinner so Heather can continue providing me with 'above and beyond' customer service! As a photographer myself, Heather even shared wedding photo album vendor information. What photographer does that? Heather was an absolute joy to work with before, during, and after the wedding day. Photography was the number one thing I was worried about during my wedding planning, so my five star rating is a huge compliment to Heather. She was the perfect photographer for the kind of wedding experience I wanted. She was responsive during the planning stages, walking through ideas with me and discussing details like lighting, which are often overlooked. She even gave me advice on the shade of foundation that would work best for our daytime wedding. Then there's the pictures... AMAZING!! We have over 700 top notch pictures for only 5 hours of photography!! The pictures are all artistic with great lighting and a nice variety of close ups and dramatic scenery shots. You should have seen Heather bark at my dog to get him to look at the camera and turn his head. She is so creative and has an amazing sexy fashion feel that I wanted.

Heather was recommended by a friend for her professionalism, creativity and integrity. She delivered in all those areas and more. When looking at our wedding pictures, I experienced the joy of the day all over again. In addition to smoothly taking all the routine shots from our shot list, (bridal party, family etc), Heather beautifully captured the personalities and emotions of our family and friends in her candid shots. These candid shots brought a smile to my face and touched my heart, as they made me realize how special our family and friends are and how grateful we are that they shared our wedding day with us. She also creatively incorporated pictures of our church, reception venue, and home, with the result being a reaction of " Wow..... What a great picture! How did she ever think of that?". "I LOVE MY WEDDING PHOTOS!!!! Every single one of them!! Heather is the very best photographer! You can tell how talented she is by looking at her website. She knows how to capture beautiful details! She knows how to direct and handle big groups to make the pictures look perfect! She spent the whole wedding day with us and was able to capture all events of the wedding from start to finish! I remember when my sister got married she had to wait months before receiving her photos! So many people commented on my photos saying how they should be in magazines. Funk is the funk!
I used Heather for my wedding in January 2012. I provided her a timeline the week of --- and she kept everything flowing beautifully from the moment she arrived.
She was on time and very professional. She stayed true the timeline and captured getting ready photos, details, pictures with family and friends, the ceremony, and reception. She didnt miss a beat. I paid an additional fee for a second photographer - she used Vera, who also did an amazing job. During the ceremony and reception, I didn't event know they were there!!! I received my pictures THE FOLLOWING MONTH!!!! I know this is unheard of!!! She sent me 3 CDs with ALL my high resolution pictures and one with all the pics in lower resolution (still great quality but easy to share online and via email). She also sent Vera's pictures on a CD. The CDs recieved had beautiful covers and looked professional. At the time I signed the contract, I did not include the photo album so I can't review that. I am now looking for a large hard cover, coffee table type wedding photo book. She did not offer this option when I initially met with her so that is the only thing I wish she had. She can make an album - it just wasnt what I had in mind. However, I can say that my pictures were received in record time, they were gorgeous and edited, she captured everything in a photo journalistic style, and I would recommend her to anyone.

I had over 20 wedding vendors and Heather Funk was #1.
The ninja comment is perfect. She was everywhere and everything.
As a photographer, she was efficient and professional while at the same time being kind, patient and great with the family members, guests and little children. I would have been beyond pleased if she had merely done this, but it was evident from the begining that my wedding planner (see Affairs Remembered/Alice Villar) was a flop and she took over for her too. She rearranged set-up, told me when to cut the cake, throw my bouquet and everyone was going to her with questions. People are still telling me how amazing she was.
Also, she charges considerably less than similar wedding photographers in Miami and her pictures are so unique and fun and you own your pictures afterwards! I highly recommend her!

I can't say enough about Heather Funk, the photos were spectacular. Heather brings a unique eye to our wedding photos, she takes a simple moment and captures it with such life, vitality and emotion that the moment is transformed.
Not only was all the shots captured vividly, but she was like a ninja, sweeping in to take photos virtually undetected. Heather was able to get all the important moments and did a great job with the family photos too.
The turn around time was amazing, about 2-3 weeks. (i think i just got lucky there)
I highly recommend Heather Funk, if you want unique, beautiful, editorial style photos- she's your gal.
I was so pleased with our photos, that I truly wish all brides and grooms get to experience that same level of satisfaction with their photos from their wedding.
