We ordered a variety of boxed lunches today for our monthly employee appreciation get-togethers and they were perfect! Fresh made, great tasting, good sized sammies! The side salad with sweet potato and the delicious macaroon for dessert were great too. We will be ordering a breakfast catering soon too - I highly recommend Freedom a la Cart! More...

As a vegan, I rarely find a hummus wrap to be flavorful or satisfying, if even available. My experience with Freedom a la cart could not have been more different! Their vegetable hummus wrap was the best I've had! Thank you for offering a flavorful, satisfying and delicious vegan option. Freedom a la Cart is revolutionizing the boxed lunch in my opinion. They use fresh, local ingredients to create a taste experience superior to other boxed lunch options in and around Columbus. And don't even get me started on their homemade macaroons. OMG. The best part is that it's cause cuisine because Freedom employs and empowers survivors of trafficking. Our agency is proud to help spread the word for such an amazing initiative. More...

I experienced Freedom a la Cart a few times when I used to work at the corporate office for Big Lots. Between the delicious food and the employees being genuinely nice people, it made an impression on me.

After hearing more of the background story behind Freedom a la Cart and then visiting the website, I can't say enough good things about this organization. How refreshing to see a company that not only makes wonderful food, but also helps human beings in the process.

Ok this place has amazing brownies. The tea is great. All of the pastries are delicious. I'm writing this review right now because I'm craving their brownie. And I just found out this week that the money goes to a good cause for women. You can find them at the short north library :) More...

A nonprofit organization runs this literal hole-in-the-wall establishment (but it's nice, like a hobbit hole), which serves coffee beverages and baked goods to library patrons down in the lower level stacks of the library branch. They brew One Line Coffee. Even though they do not offer pour-over or more specialized brews, the urn coffee is a good, strong medium roast. The baked goods are brought in daily. More...

I like food carts and food for causes, which Freedom A La Cart is good for. It also raises money to stop abuse of women. The cart is located all over the place but is usually somewhere around the Brewery District as far as we've seen it. It's not that crazy of a good selection but it's still okay. The charity is what makes us want to get it again. It's nice getting anything from here because of their charitable causes. It not only takes your money for your food, they give it to charities. These include stopping victims of human trafficking. It has a pretty limited menu. It has some vegetarian items. The hummus vegetable wrap is the best of these. It has lots of healthy options. They also have boxed lunches for $10. The noodles are cooked just enough but they need some more flavor. I want to choose Freedom A La Cart again. It raised money for lots of charities so they deserve our business. The workers there are usually friendly. More...

My office recently ordered lunch from Freedom Ala Cart since they are downtown and they offer delivery to the immediate downtown area.  Why not support a great local cause?!  We went with a combination of 4 different boxed lunch sandwiches and everything was FANTASTIC!  From "The Classic" chicken salad sandwich to the "Hamaletta" hand-carved ham sandwich to the "Burly Bohemian" vegan option it is very apparent that they use only the freshest ingredients that are paired perfectly to please the palate! Every boxed lunch came with a salty snack, a sweet treat and my personal favorite was the "chef's special" salad- a chickpea, corn and mint salad with a delicious homemade dressing... yum :) Even those who "don't eat stuff like that" had to admit it was good once they tried it.  Overall it was a hit even with some moderately picky eaters and a we will definitely order from them again! They also do catering and all info can be found on their website: freedomalacart.org More...

This is my favorite food cart in Columbus! The Latin-infused flavors always shine through in whatever creative dish they've dreamed up. I never hesitate to try new things I see on the menu - most recently at Independent's Day, I inhaled a creamy eggplant sandwich. It featured a delightful blend of spices and had a surprising crunch with roasted chickpeas.  The Papa sandwich is also a go-to favorite - it's hearty with white beans, potatoes and a spicy sauce. Believe me - you'll be sorry if you only go for the half size sandwich instead of the full. :) Also, their proceeds go toward fighting human trafficking in Columbus: delicious food for a great cause! Freedom a La Cart (Carte? I've seen it spelled out both ways when refering to this business), offers something a little different amid the bustling world of Columbus' mobile food scene: charity! I love that the proceeds/profits from this food truck benefit Doma (domaconnection.org), a charity fighting human trafficking, and empowering women. Very cool!Second, the food is really good AND creative. I had "the Gaucho" during my last visit, a giant beef sandwich on a soft hoagie roll, with delicious chimichurri spread and just the right amount of mayo and lettuce. Often this kind of sandwhich beef sitting pre-made in a cart can get a little tough, but Freedom's sammich stayed beefy and bite-able. Very fresh flavors-- and everything on the menu looked interesting! My only gripe is the serving method. I was having my meal at Dinin' Hall, and the sandwich was delivered to me in a wax paper bag around the sandwich. I was seated at a table, but I really couldn't set the sandwich down anywhere. The deliciousness ended up weeping quite a bit of juices out its end, so my hand was getting absolutely soggy. I would have liked a plate or at least a small cardboard tray. I'm all for keeping waste down, but I really needed some respite from the mess. More...

I caught Freedom a la Cart at Dinin' Hall last month.  I had a very inspired raw kale salad perfectly marinated in sesame oil and other lip smacking flavors and dotted with golden raisins, plus the eggplant sandwich topped with wonderfully crunchy little chickpeas for a North African flair.  Great meal!  Well seasoned and wholesome!
