Linda Cleary – Short Bio

I offer Creative Writing, editing, proofreading and mentoring services.

I am a poet - writer – performer who has been working/performing/delivering workshops in creative writing, theatre and related arts since 1991; working in UK, Holland, Czech Republic, Australia and Egypt. I am also Director of the Free Writers Centre http://www.freewriterscentre.org/ chiefly offering live and online Creative Writing courses, editing, proofreading and mentoring services, writing holidays and literary events. I am also Literary Arts Coordinator for the Hypatia Trust and I work in adult education with English, IT and basic maths.

As well as my written work (mainly poetry and short story but also film script), of which various poems have been published by Poetry Bay, Citizen 32 and other publications, I've collaborated with film makers on various poetry films – several have been shown in the Berlin based Zebra Poetry Film Festival and one was recently longlisted in the Double Bunny Press Festival.

I also create both spoken word and work with musicians and I have created installations using audio/image/text/video as in The Tarantismo Project shown at The Exchange Gallery, Penzance. I ran a small arts residencyand I have initiated and led many literary events including open mics, writers' salons and more.
