This was our first visit and a really fabulous place to eat in Menai!! What a gem! We have been visiting Anglesey for 40+ years as a family and this is right up there in our top places to come back and eat. The staff were lovely and the food was faultless. Visited yesterday with my sister and we were not disappointed. This was definitely a new experience for the both of us and we both absolutely loved it. We had four dishes between us and two sides and we were absolutely stuffed although we made room for the dessert! Would highly recommend the braised pig cheek dish and the dessert- chocolate ganache with peanut moose and salted caramel ice cream. Friendly staff, made us feel welcome and lovely decor with a calming mood. Will definitely be visiting again! Delighted to have found this restaurant. Freckled Small Plates Restaurant & that sums up the 'British (or, rather, Welsh) meets tapas' style. You choose a selection of small plates and thus get to enjoy a range of different flavours. What a lovely place. This was our first visit but definitely will not be our last. We were warmly welcomed and given plenty of time to look over the menu and the wine list. We chose four plates and a side of bread with garlic butter and dipping oil. Everything was absolutely delicious. Then on to the desserts - my husband had the pear fancier and I had the set custard - descriptions come nowhere near describing how outstanding they were - we both felt that our choice was the best dessert we had ever eaten.

We read the reviews, had the recommendations, and decided we need to try for ourselves. The reviews are not just hype, the Freckled Angel delivers on all levels right from the moment you step through the door. It's a small restaurant with a wonderful charm, the staff are very attentive, welcoming, and friendly, and the food is outstanding.

We ordered a number of small dishes and some sides and everything was perfectly cooked and delicious, with some stand outs for us being the lamb knuckle which just melted in the mouth, and the duck egg which was a warm yolky delight! High compliments to the chef indeed.

If you are ever in our around Menai you need to pay the Freckled Angel a visit, we can't wait to come back again and try some other dishes from the menu.
