Whenever I had family over and they saw Chico (my chihuahua) they'd always question why I still have him, and if I'm ever going to get him any training and call aggressive, weird and other things. I used to get offended, because to me Chico's behavior was "normal" being that he's a rescue and had been abused most of his life and I knew he "loved me" but had a hard time at showing it. Chico would like to alone, period. Even during feeding time, he'd hide behind the door before coming out to eat, if guests come over he'd go under the bed and growl but never show his face, if anyone tried to touch him he'd pee on himself, I have a five year old and even though he knows to stay away from him he still wants to play etc and couldn't in fear that he'd do something to him. I was the only one he'd allow around him, petting him a couple of times at max, but that's it. Never really able to cuddle with him etc. I heard about Fraternity K9 through family. The founder/trainer's name is Donald. He came highly recommended and I took his information... just in case I changed my mind about Training. Sure enough, about a week later, I got the sign I needed to finally get him some help. I felt like his behavior was slowly getting worse but not this bad. We were watching TV and I asked my son to pass me the remote, he got up and started walking towards me when I witnessed Chico literally lunge at my son from across the room, he didn't bite him but he snapped at him & started barking. Even though he didn't physically hurt him,  it still scared both my son and I. At that point, I decided to call Donald. I told myself this is it, we'll try the Training, if it doesn't work (which I was highly skeptical) I would have to get rid of Chico regardless of how much it would hurt. Let me start off by saying Donald was extremely professional and patient with me when I first called him. Our initial conversation was almost half hour, I'm surprised he didn't charged me lol he let me explain in detail what was going on and he even gave me tips and pointers on how to deal with the situation in the Interim. they actually worked! We were able to schedule our first appointment a couple of days later. He's very down to earth and uses terminology that we'd actually understand in order to make the learning process easier, and if there's ever any questions, he's more than happy to further explain. He does home-visits, which works great! Donald explained the reason that Chico is that way he is, and it's not just because of the abuse, some things are strictly behavioral do to the dog's own personality. We started working on his confidence, aggression, his trust in people, and even bringing him around my son! So far, we've had several sessions, for months now, we've been with Donald since March 2019. So far Chico has learned to be in the same room as us without being scared, he's in the kitchen as I'm prepping his food and his Tail has been up a lot more lately, especially during walks (which we used to struggle with before, it would be a battle just to put his leash on)!Today is July 7, 2019 and it brought happy tears to my eyes to see Chico allowing my son to carry him for the first time ever!!!!! My son was super happy as well! Chico actually stood on the balcony with us without trying to run away! When I tell you Donald has changed the Dynamics of our everyday lives!! Things that I would never even imagine, Chico is now doing! It's been hard work! It's not just about the dog, it's about us as owners too, it's a lot of discipline and determination, but it's all well worth it at the end! I finally have a lap dog lol! We're no where near done, but the progress thus far has been immense and I can't wait to see what else he has in store for us. Maybe tricks? Chico still hasn't done any yet because we were focusing on other areas for now, but I guess it's time now :-) Awesome! Donald's fees are very reasonable and so is his schedule. I see why my family was recommending him all this time! Couldn't have done it without you Donald, thank you from my son and I!!! More...

Donald came over to help with my misbehaving cocker spaniel & I can't wait to try everything he suggested. He's patient and very elaborate - put up with every one of my repetitive questions and kept his advice tailored to what we need. If for some reason these methods do not work I will be calling Don asap. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with a puppy or a dog that needs fine tuning. Awesome guy. More...

"DDDon" Hutcherson is a fighter who is as passionate for dogs as he is boxing.  He's understated, but he has great passion and drive. I teach him boxing, he teaches me about the dog world.  I've now joined Don in his journey and fight against dog fighting. I highly recommend Fraternity K9 for any of your dog training needs.
